Christine was an awesome bartender. We got to chit-chatting and she had lived in Metro Detroit, near where I was from. I was in town for a short visit and just wanted some beers and to shoot some pool. She made us a shot after we inquired about some ingredients from one we drank up in Michigan. It was not delicious, but not her fault AT ALL. It reminded me of kids vitamins. Won't make that choice again. Fun times when everyone's phones went off for a tornado warning too. Parking lot had a fair amount of cars for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. Walking in, it smells like a bar from the 80s. Beer and cigarette smoke. Not a fan of cigarettes but in the Dive Bar category, that's a staple. Friendly bartender greeted us and set me up with an ice cold PBR and a Bud Light for my wife. (Always order cans and bottles at these places). Amazing cast of regulars having fun convos and chatting us up as well. There was some kind of unofficial buffet (not sure if we crashed a party). We didn't eat but I don't think anyone would question if we did. Wild decorations and despite the dive vibe, we felt very safe and welcome. Only stayed for two drinks. Off street parking. At one point, a man approached my husband and me while we were sitting on the couch and started a bizarre conversation, making strange comments and pointing at us. We tried to ignore it, but then his "friends" had to pull him away. A little later, he came back, now more aggressive than before. I started yelling for help from other patrons or the bartender, and they only responded by pulling him away. The bartender didn't intervene at all. At that point, we decided to cut our night short. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, not even on a quiet Wednesday. If they're not responsible enough to check IDs, they clearly don't care enough to ensure their patrons' safety or comfort.

The young lady working the bar stepped in and asked me what I like- I explained my usual taste profile - medto heavy body and on the spicier side of things and she recommended a Pinot Noir, which would I not have normally thought of - she merely said "you have to try this". She was right on the money with that recommendation. The wine was fabulous and the music was going on so I sat back and had a look around: cozy place with a good number of tables scattered around - I would think this is more of a date place or a night out with good friends. Definitely not a beer and shot vibe here. The beer side of the house is definitely a decent choice as well - if you like beer. They have 20-some beers available on tap or canned. Like the wine, they can walk you into a perfect choice if you can describe what you like. I was considering the same charcuterie board but it turned out to be larger than expected when they finished making it for the folks that ordered it so I went for a smaller bite.
