I want to live here. I stopped by early on a Saturday afternoon. They have anyone who plays an instrument able to come on by and play/sing. I don't play, so I sat at the bar and watched and quietly sang along. It was so much fun to watch. Plus, the beer was very reasonably priced. The staff was great. Especially TJ at the bar. There is live music all the time. So stop by if you're near downtown Lake Worth. They are very dog friendly and have a good menu as well. read more

Rudy's Pub is located in the historic 1922 Paradise Building in downtown Lake Worth. The building was renovated in 2000 and now contains several other businesses along with Rudy's. There is free parking out front. Rudy's opened on February 14, 2011. They took their name from a red cardinal and you can spot cardinals in several places throughout the venue including a white tree full of them in a corner along with some other unusual decor. The motto of this bar is no grouchy people allowed! They have an indoor room with a stage and bar and an outdoor patio but I didn't get a chance to see it. Rudy's bills itself as a music venue but my friend and I came for Drag Queen Bingo hosted by politically incorrect Nicole Halliwell which was non stop laughter for two hilarious hours. Our ticket came with a free beverage from the bar and I was able to order a sangria. The menu is mainly sandwiches named after musicians and light bites. I had the Dylan, roast beef and Swiss cheese with horseradish sauce on multi grain bread. It was tasty and came with a bag of chips. I also had an Angry Orchard and found their alcohol to be very reasonably priced. All of the people who I encountered at Rudy's were incredibly nice. I had a great evening at Rudy's and will definitely be checking out their online calendar for future events. read more

Way out of the ordinary. Waaay-out not ordinary. And out of the ordinary in different ways on different days. Go for the atmosphere. Go for the music. Go to move to the music. Go to just be yourself amid other people just being themselves. Go to enjoy with a friend or friends. The food is wholesome and tasty - prepared before your eyes. The menu is short but you're sure to find something that fits your appetite. And I like the wines, too. I've only been when there's live music but I will definitely go - without live music - taking a friend or friends just because the vibe is so cool, so laid-back, so friendly. Just right. read more

Tough to beat . . . Rudy's seems to always be what we need, when we need it. We wandered in, the first time, to find a Sunday afternoon jam session with 5 or 6 guys playing acoustic guitar. As a guitar player I was fascinated and loved it. We've been back a couple times for entertainment ranging from fabulous Allman Brothers cover work done by The Marshall Brothers to jazz, Reggae . . . you name it. Do we like this place?.......No. We Love It!! There's a gazillion (almost) bars/clubs to try in downtown Lake Worth. And they range from pricey to cheap and from fabulous to sketchy. So, let me tell you what you can expect during a visit to Rudy's: First and foremost, walking in the front door doesn't feel like walking into a business....it feels more like walking into someone's living room. You may sense they're trying to impress some sort of vibe upon you....and you'd be correct. There's no push to sell you the menu or drinks.....they simply want you to relax and enjoy your time there. Drinks: The beer selection is thoughtfully assembled with a wide range that crosses the spectrum from mass produced lites, buds, Coronas, Pabst, Stellas, Hein'ies, etc....to heavier craft beers such as Jai Alai, Peak Brewing, Funky Buddha, Shipyard, Organic Pale Ales/IPAs, etc. Pale Ales, IPAs, Blue Moon, Mexican/Jamaican beer, White Claw seltzers, and on. Something for pretty much everybody. Although I'm not a wine guy, I noticed they had Woodbridge, Mark West, Josh Cellars, etc. I noticed a few cocktails, not sure what they were but certainly looked appealing. Food: You're not going to Rudy's for a formal dinner (There are plenty of excellent places to do that within walking distance) But they will keep you content for lunch or a light evening meal and late night munchies. Salads, fresh sandwiches, chips pickles, etc. I enjoyed a chicken sausage on a bun with spicy mustard and onions. I forget how much but I know it was ridiculously cheap. I also liked the roast beef sandwich, aka 'The Dylan' with horseradish and all the fixings for only $8 bucks. Music: There's almost always something going on stage. Soloists, full bands, ect. Rudy's schedules a VERY eclectic pool of artists. Could be the local kid with incredible talent, or it could be a national touring act. (I suggest checking out their event schedule on Facebook). The music is the main appeal for my Wife and I......We've seen everything from bluegrass, jazz, folk, classic rock, hillbilly, Southern rock, etc, etc. I've never seen anything rougher than toe-tapping feel-good performances here, so if your planing on going out and see heavy metal or acid rock....maybe not (yet, you never know!...again check the schedule). If your in Lake Worth (aka 'L-Dub') take a moment to at least take a peek through the door....I'm sure you'll be lured in and then glad you did. After a wonderful dinner, we strolled into Rudy's and enjoyed the light music. We were pleasantly surprised by the local talent who joined the band to entertain the rest of us. The drinks are cold and they too celebrate Taco Tuesdays. We must go back to this intimate venue for more. read more

Ruby's Pub is like stumbling into a 70s acid trip and I say that with the utmost respect. It's a tiny Pub off the side road on downtown lake worth. My friend and I came here during the lake worth street painting fest. What got our attention was the music pouring out of the pub. There was an amazing musician there on the guitar singing his lungs out. As far as beer they have everything in coolers behind the bar. There wasn't really a list of offered beers (unless I missed it) but I just got a miller lite. Overall Rudys is a legit 70s dive I would visit for some quality tunes. The atmosphere is very 70s. Old school posters on the wall and such. The bathroom was gross with a non operating sink which would be my only complaint. read more

Phew. I'm not sure how this place got 5 stars after popping in last night for a quick beer. The musicians are pretty damn good on Tuesdays. However, it was dirty. Another phew. Luckily, it wasn't too crowded or else someone would have probably got hit. I think my friends and I were the youngest ones there while everyone else were old enough to be our parents or grandparents. That's what we get for going without doing the research first ;) The bartender was simply ok. I was looking for a craft beer and the only thing they had on the shelf was the usual standard drafts. I went with a Jai Alai and it was alright. I'm not sure how the tacos are there for the Tuesday special since we ate prior. I guess I had higher expectations. Maybe it was just the crowd or the atmosphere that I didn't find appealing. It's cool to be hip, but it was taken a little overboard there. Is it a must to check out? Not really, but it all depends on the person. Some may dig it. I wasn't amused with how dirty it was. The unisex bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner. The smell of urine was not welcomed when I walked in there. Blech. I had to walk out of there real quick before my nose burned. Enough said. read more

Rudy's is a magical little place!!! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There is live music every evening, and it is a place that folks from all different backgrounds come to hang out. There were no obnoxious drunks, or rude people...everyone was happy and having a blast. Mary and all of the staff at Rudy's treat you like family!! They are all very attentive and friendly!! I met so many wonderful people at Rudy's, and I can't wait to come back down to LW again to visit Lake Worth's best kept secret!!! Oh and best of all, I was able to bring my well-behaved pup, Pearl in there. She got so much attention from everyone that she didn't know what to do with herself!! This was such a COOL PLACE to see a jam band. The staff was so nice and attentive. The bathrooms were clean and the prices were reasonable. I had read a pretty bad review on them, so I went there grudgingly. The owner had answered the negative review with such eloquence that I sought her out (working behind the bar) to tell her my awesome experience. She informed me that they were in a new location now and were so happy to have the additional space and bathrooms that were no longer shared with another establishment. I told her that the only thing that would make me happier is if they sold kombucha. She wrote down the request, and told me to ask for it the next time I'm back in. I will definitely be back!! Also, if you have the time there is a wall hanging over the piano inside the front door. It has the story of how the bar got its name. It's awesome, and worth the read. read more

Love this place! We went to a Fundraiser here and it was terrific. They have an outdoor patio they have bands there as well as indoors they have a band as well and all kinds of fun pictures hanging on the walls. The food is excellent and it's just a nice comfortable fun place to hang out read more

We went to Rudys to celebrate Saint Patricks Day, as our hotel the Four Seasons was not serving corned beef and cabbage in any of their restaurants or cafes. When we asked the concierge for recommendations they suggested Rudys and were right on point. Not only was the food fabulous but they also had a live Irish band playing. I must say it was the best corned beef and cabbage I've ever had. A couple of locals we chatted with mentioned Rudys has live music frequently and it is always great. We will absolutely be back! I'd highly recommend anyone who is looking for laid back, casual fun with a friendly atmosphere and great food and drinks with great prices, try out RUDY'S PUB, you will be glad you did. read more

Andre greated us with genuine kindness and a warm smile to this cozy, low-key, spot just off the main strip. The decor and art was tastefully hippy. I felt like I was home at once. The vibes were great. Nice selection of beers and wine. Unfortunately we were on a business trip, and could not stay as long as I would've liked to enjoying the live music and good company. ( I was actually really impressed that they could have a 2 person band playing at the perfect volume for enjoyment and conversation with the size of the venue.) Another J Street Gem in Lake Worth. I think everyone there was at Woodstock. Great vibe, great atmosphere, everyone is welcome. Great band the other night with a solid playlist of hits from the 70's mixed with some original works. Don't remember the name of the band but can best be summed up by one of their original songs titled "I'm a red neck hippie". Great local place to have a glass of wine or a beer and hear great live music. If you visit Lake Worth you must come by.

This is a small little beer and wine bar with amazing live music by incredibly talented local musicians for their weekly Taco Tuesdays. I went there not knowing anyone really accept for the one friend that invited me who was playing and was greeted with smiles from the moment I walked out of my vehicle. Owners are behind the bar and so kind, they have kitchy and fun music memorabilia and fun wine glasses, lots to look at. Free tacos for their Tuesday special and just all around comfortable and genuine fun. Will def. be returning and I suggest you make a pit stop as well specially if you are down with the blues :) read more
