Highly recommend traveling Route 4 in Vermont to The Public House Pub in Quechee. Service was excellent, family atmosphere with live music. Everyone is treated as a friend. The owner made sure we enjoyed everything, and shared the story of he and his partners inception of the restaurant and showed us his book of building this incredible establishment. My wife had the maple bacon brussel sprouts as an appetizer, and the maple bacon cheddar burger, I had some buffalo wings which were enormous, not the dinky ones you usually get, and I too had the Maple bacon cheddar burger. To finish our meal we split a maple cheese cake slice, which was delicious. When in Vermont you must try all things maple. read more

Great local that we don't visit enough. Visited this evening with nieces and family. Menu provided enough options for everyone of good quality pub food and some large plate dinner options as well. Our table enjoyed the fish and chip special, the chop salad, veggie burger, salami sliders and the New England standbys; the lobster roll and Mac and cheese. My wife has now sampled 5 different lobster rolls in 7 days and put the Public House at number one. The Mac and Cheese was prepared with Vermont Cheddar and was very creamy. Place was in the parking lot next to motel so proximity was fabulous! Service was very pleasant and food was good! They have 3 seating options when you make reservations. Indoor, outdoor & lawn. Outdoor actually has a tent roof & plastic drop sides so it still be used during rainy weather. lawn seating is picnic tables with umbrellas. I give a 4.+++ seated by a staff member immediately. Server was out super fast. Our drinks were to the table before she left. Ruben egg roll was excellent. There were five of us that ate here, and everyone said their food was really good. I got a burger with bacon on it. It normally comes with cheese, but I skipped it this time. It was phenomenal; much better than average. They actually ask you how you want it cooked. I got it medium and it was perfectly cooked. There was a live acoustic guitar duo, which gave a nice atmosphere. The server was nice, the service was very prompt, including the checks, which is very important to me. The only nitpick I have is, the server didn't tell me the sweet potato fries were an upcharge. She should have said something. I might've gotten something else because I was only neutral on whether or not I wanted sweet potato fries. That said, they were very good--better than average--and I don't regret it at all. The food here is SO GOOD! The lobster Rangoon and maple Brussels sprouts are literally to die for. I ordered online recently and as a vegetarian I asked for a bunch of changes to my meal which not only were they able to happily do but the chef called me personally to ask what type of cheese I wanted on my beyond burger. Stopped in for the first time yesterday evening. We were Seated quickly, the service was great. My only complaint was the prime Sandwich I received? was definitely not fresh and pretty chewy. Updated review: Last time I gave a 2 star for my poor take out. My boyfriend convinced me to come back to the restaurant in hopes that being in the restaurant will be a better experience. I had a positive attitude walking in, but it still fell short. We ordered the Reuben egg rolls which were 2 for 9 dollars. Although they tasted decent, it was so small for that much money! I finally believe that ordering their appetizers, aside from their wings, are just not worth it. Too expensive and underwhelming. I will give then credit for their wings. They have slightly above average wings for a decent price. Definitely order them if you need to order appetizers. We got the special sliced pork sandwich with BBQ sauce on it. My bread was slightly burnt and possibly even partially stale, there was basically no BBQ sauce on it and I had to ask for more, and the pork was dry. The tater tots were good, but the entire meal was just underwhelming. read more

I hae eaten here both before and after covid. Their food is wonderful, a little pricey, but worth it. And the chef knows how to make a rare burger. Stopped here by chance and so glad we did! Excellent food, lots of beers on tap from local (Long Trail, Von Trapp) to the usuals (Coors, etc) and the space itself is modern without being cold or overly fancy. People there were locals drinking beer and watching football on the four or so screens, dressed up folks drinking martinis, overall a good mix that didn't leave anyone out. The food was creative and delicious. A lot of interesting twists on home cookin without trying to be too hip about it. I loved my grilled meatloaf sandwich!! We had gone here once, not had a good experience, then went back at the manager's request and it was great. We thought we'd go back for a birthday dinner and brought family. Unfortunately it was as poor as the first time. We asked twice to speak to the manager, who we were told was in the back, but no one came. We ate here on Valentine's Day with the family. The food was amazing and the choices were varied but delicious. I got the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and the cutlet was huge and didn't fit the bun. The "Load them up Tots" were a must have. The beer selection was awesome. Was it loud - yes. Was it crowded- yes. But was it worth it - absolutely. It is a pub, people. It is going to be loud and crowded. If that isn't for you- don't go. But don't give them a bad review because it was loud, crowded or a kid was crying. This place was good. I really liked the maple wings. They were sweet and tangy. The 1 lb portion was generous. I also had the empanadas. These were absolutely horrible. They were super dry and gross. The salsa was quite tasty but its a dry salsa so it didn't help the empanadas. The wing sauce actually helped bring some flavor and moisture to the empanadas. The other thing that disappointed me was the menu selection. The sandwiches are very limited. So if you want to eat there you should be ready to eat appetizers or burgers. The beer selection is good.
