Stopped in for dinner, I was by myself and sat at the bar. Corrine at the host stand greeted me warmly, and since the bartender was really busy a nice server got my drink and took my order (I wish I knew her name, long dark hair and some arm tattoos?). My burger was fantastic and I tried the Eden Cider (so good that I found a liquor store which carries it close to home) which was great and would have paired well with anything. Hostess asked the family with kids in line in front of us if they had read the menu, did they know there's no kid menu, and are you sure you want to come here...who does that? And then there was no table available for our party of five + toddler, which is understandable, so I offered to split the group, then the hostess just got visibly annoyed and said there are still no tables for us, but proceeded to seat the couples in line after us when we left. One room with a bar on one side and a patio out front. Service was fast and friendly. Chairs were solid and comfortable. The halibut was very good and perfectly cooked. The smash burger was juicy (there's some pork in there to help) and yummy. Loved the food and the lunch ambience! Music was mellow and not loud, you could easily converse. The doors were open to the terrace with a view of passersby. Service was excellent. We had a 5 pm reservation at the bar and watched many turned away at the door without one. Drinks were good and inventive (though hubby went classic summer G&T). Tapas to means I'm going to order one dish at a time based on what I just tried and we'll see how far we get. Definitely for what these dishes cost. The bartender who also took care of our food orders seemed to understand how we wanted to flow and was fine with it. The ceviche had shrimp, a dash of coconut cream, pineapple, cilantro microgreens and chili pepper. Not a big fan - needed more acid and less fru-fru but A for effort. A glass of Vermentino paired well. The caesar salad maybe a wee bit too much cheese on top. Beef tartare was very good if a bit much on the minced shallots. Visiting the area from DC and stopped in for lunch. Restaurant had a new menu from I saw posted online and it which was definitely welcomed. I had the braised pork udon which was fantastic. It had great depth of flavor. My husband had the smash burger. He thought it was very good...better than the options we have locally in DC. I had been waiting to try Santé for two years since the last time I was visiting Woodstock! I was so happy to snag a reservation this time. Definitely DO make a reservation because this quaint spot fills up fast! Overall, our experience was fantastic. Definitely a bit pricey, but we knew that going in. The food was delectable! Everything was super fresh and flavorful. You really got that farm to table aspect with every bite. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I think my favorite was the beef tartare. This was an experience Starting with entry- it was a HOT week in Vermont this past week. Everyone was melting so the staff, being attentive, brought out fans for the restaurant. They were really kind and I knew guests were a bit more on edge because of how hot it was but the staff helped as much as possible I loved the bar tender, I feel horrible that I don't remember her name right now but she was funny and super nice to us. We got a glass of white wine as well a cocktail- she gave us iced waters because of the heat (though I think regularly, they don't add ice to the water which is also fine) We had the summer salad, the tar tar, the fried chicken as which, and oysters and wow, not a single thing was bad. I loved all of the food- the strawberry compote on the oysters were a new experience, a bit spicy, but also fresh. The tar tar might be my favorite thing on the menu, get it, you won't regret it. The summer salad was beautiful and fresh with pieces of watermelon- I'd say it was slightly over dressed so I couldn't finish it but that's absolutely fine. I probably would have ditched the chicken sandwich in lieu of scallops, the table next to us had them and they looked amazing. I found the chicken sandwich to be sweet (I'm not a sweet person but if you are, you'll love it) I think it had Vermont maple syrup on it, which is great. Now, this is a smaller restaurant and it's popular so either go earlier in the day and sit at the bar like we did or get reservations. It got pretty crowded because of how popular it got but we didn't have to wait. We definitely saw people standing and waiting and because of the heat, they looked a bit miserable but that is not the fault of the restaurant or staff- it's July so it is hot inside the restaurant so be prepared I was starving so forgive me as I didn't take any picture of the actual food but know the presentation was superb read more

We had a beautiful dinner of plant and fish-forward food there last night (our choices were nestled in among the many pork options with some beef and shellfish as well). The menu is ever-changing. We truly lucked out -- not knowing the restaurant situation in Woodstock (basically, without a reservation, you're stuck) and fresh off a day of skiing, we wandered around hoping for good luck. When we made our way over to Santé, it turned out that somebody had canceled! We waited patiently for about 30 minutes for a table to open up. Our patience was well rewarded. Everything was fantastic! We had: bread and cultured butter, marinated olives (served warm), the roasted beets dish (also served warm, and completely delectable), the burrata, the duck, the gnocchi ("sans bunnies"), and the pork chop. If I was going to find something to critique, it would be that the duck is described as "Crispy duck confit & ham hock". The ham hock was barely evident. The service was excellent everyone was so nice the owner Matt is fantastic . I'm not sure what they put in their food but it should be illegal. The place is nice it's small and quant . The food was so good I wanted to hug the owner and his chef. I cannot wait to go back and eat there again. Fantastic I can't say it enough. Sante's soft opening this week was a very welcomed event in Woodstock. The food is superb, and the drinks are sublime. Like it's big brother Mangalista, every culinary detail is passionately thought through. The food was too exciting to pause and photograph. The service is excellent and they will guide you through the small plates. Farm fresh ingredients from the local area including their own Peace Farm. Current hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 to 9. This is our favorite restaurant! We have tried many restaurants in the Upper Valley and Woodstock. We even went to Saap in Randolph. This restaurant has the best service by far. And the food is amazing! The drinks are also the best in the area. I do not know how they managed to find such amazing staff (most VT restaurants really struggle with drinks and service and have mediocre food) but this is the only place I want to dine in. read more
