Very disappointed with my recent experience. I came here specifically to watch a World Cup game based on the restaurant's official Instagram account advertising this place as the "ultimate watch day headquarters." I even made a reservation in advance to be seated outside, so finding out afterward that this wasn't the case was not ideal. Instead, I found out the menu being advertised is actually just a happy hour menu ... NOT a World Cup game menu, like advertised... and it's only available at the small bar. This distinction needs to be made crystal clear upfront, because customers like me show up with completely different expectations based on your own marketing. When I showed the manager the IG post to ask about the discrepancy, they were very rude about it instead of trying to help or explain. The lack of transparency already felt misleading, and the way it was handled in person made it so much worse. On top of that, the service left a lot to be desired. For a place that's marketing itself as a game-day destination, you need to do better, both in how you communicate your offerings and how you treat your guests when they call it out. All in all, the experience was bad. The beer was flat, the atmosphere was off and I wouldn't recommend this place for any occasion, be it a sporting event or casual dining. read more

We went here for lunch sitting down at noon. Our food didn't come until after 1:00. Our boss Had to get up and ask about it because no one checked in with us or explained that they were having an issue with the kitchen and there was a large group ahead of us (part of whom arrived at the same time we did.) when the food finally arrived, one of the orders was missing and took another 10 minutes. We asked for the manager who also took 10 minutes to get to our table. She apologized and offered us free dessert which we didn't really want and a discount which wasn't on the bill. After visiting the Museum of Jurassic Technology, my friends and I were hungry and looking for a spot to eat. We popped by Public School because my friends had been there before and told me it was good. I will say the wait after we ordered was a bit long but just kind of hanging out and talking about anime theme song in the sun and light breeze was good for the soul. I had the pub cheese burger. It had an onion ring and a slice of bacon on there, too. I'm sure it mentioned that on the menu but I literally thought it was going to be a take on a plain cheeseburger. I was surprised and delighted. It's served with fries. My friends had fish and chips and a house burger. One of them has a particular aversion to yellow mustard which was on the burger. If that's something you don't like or other condiments, I would ask before you put in your order. Otherwise, they both liked their order and as a group we finished almost everything. My family felt so comfortable with the welcoming decor. At first we sat at a table in the patio. Then, in the corner, we spotted a circular booth with a mini sofa, and coffee table. For a pub, their food is pretty solid! Called to make reservations and was also able to do it easily on Opentable. I really like their all day happy hour options on discounted appetizers like hummus dips, pretzels, mini sliders, and fried cauliflower. It took a bit long to get our food, but our server was really nice and made sure to check up on us throughout our meal. The tables were sticky but what can you expect from a pub haha. Their hummus was alright with a side a pita bread and vegetables and their buffalo cauliflower was decent too. I was a little concerned I'd be making a mistake not getting something obvious like a burger at a casual joint like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. When the food came out, the presentation was really nice - colorful and the ingredients seemed fresh. The filet of salmon was also pretty decently sized. I liked it! The salmon wasn't cooked to perfection but my expectations can't be too high and at least it wasn't dry. I really loved all the ingredients together - the artichokes, arugula, avocado, red peppers, radish. There's a little bit of everything. It was a good healthy meal. Only thing that wasn't amazing about the bowl was the slices of pita that came with it, they were pretty tough. Public School 310 is SO good. We opened the menu and easily could've ordered 6 different things. It was so hard to pick! The play on words is a fun detail too. Their menus look like the black and white marble composition notebooks and the drinks were titled things like Hall Pass, Prom Night, etc. Also, we looked on Yelp for pictures and based off reviews, the star of the menu is their PB&J burger which sounds like an interesting combo, but our friend ended up ordering the burger flight to try a little of each burger, and she LOVED the pb&j burger. It was her favorite by a mile. I got the crispy chicken sandwich and it was cooked to perfection and I also love a good sauce. It came with a chipotle ranch along with lettuce tomato pickles and red onions and it was amazing (I held off on the onions but delish). The fries were great on the side too. Great vibes with traditional bar style food. I love a place with a theme. And they really stuck to it. Clever names and cool decor. The music all night was a total vibe. Our service was good. No complaints there. I find the drinks here to be super expensive. And the food is just regular food. There wasn't much on the menu that stuck out to us as phenomenal. We wanted to sit outside and there was seating on the east portion of the outside seating, but my children (old enough to behave, 11,14), were sat at the end of a long table. We didn't notice all the dogs until a man with a wheelchair passed and the four dogs around us who had been tucked under tables, started barking at him then at each other. The place felt like we were back in elementary school with lots of nice touches like composition notebooks for menus etc. The Buffalo cauliflower was fantastic. The cauliflower is breaded but then the sauce is on the side so it stays crispy. Sliders were very tasty but a bit on the small side. We tried both the PB&J and smash burger sliders. The sweet potato fries here deserve their own diploma. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and seasoned just enough to make you question why you ever bothered with regular fries in the first place. They arrive in that little tin cup, stacked like golden pencils waiting to take the test, and the test is whether you can stop eating them. Spoiler: you cannot. The dipping sauces turn the whole thing into a group project you actually want to do. One is creamy, one is tangy, and all of them turn those fries into straight A material. Met Kristina, the GM of Public School 310, at the recent Taste of Culver City event. Not only were the Elote Bites she and Chef Hector were serving delicious, Kristina was incredibly nice. I just had to go to her restaurant a few days later for a meal. Ordered the Elote Bites and Buffalo Cauliflower as starters along with an Old Fashioned. The cocktail was well-made- and this is coming from a former bartender who works in the spirits business. The Elote and cauliflower were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Portions were ample. Mains were the salmon and, on our server's recommendation, the spaghetti and meatballs. Per my dinner companion, the salmon was prepared perfectly. My pasta was a bit less al dente than I prefer, but the meatballs were a stand-out. Finished the meal with the mini ice cream sandwiches. All-in-all, a very solid meal. For an appetizer, we got their pretzel bites (not pictured) and those were very good. It came with a delicious beer cheese and some kind of spicy mustard. The spicy mustard was sooo good. This appetizer was the perfect size for our group of 3. For my entree, I got the turkey burger (added bacon) and a side of sweet potato fries. I wasn't a big fan of the turkey burger. It tasted like a lot of competing flavors while still also being pretty flavorless. I did enjoy the sweet potato fries. A meal for 3 people, which included 3 entrees, 1 appetizer, and 3 fountain drinks was around ~$107 (not including tip). I know the PBJ burger is popular here but I was scared to try it if I didn't like it. The happy hour menu included three different types of mini burgers (however you cannot mix and match, it's two of the same one) and I was able to try this popular dish at a smaller size. It wasn't as weird as it may come off to some people! The peanut butter, of course, makes it thick when you take a bite but it was more runny than super creamy. The truffle fries were a great choice from the happy hour menu as well. The only thing I regretted not ordering from the happy hour menu was the buffalo cauliflower. My friend and I were still hungry so we decided to order the chimi chicken burger - not a bad option.. however the chicken was a little dry towards the middle. I wish there was more chimichurri, but I also think it would've tasted better on steak vs. chicken.
