P.V. House is truly one of LA's best-kept secrets. The ambiance is beautiful and I was actually shocked it wasn't packed even during a Lakers playoff game! I've visited this spot through several management changes, but I'm really rooting for P.V. House to stay. Everything from the flawless service to the menu is top-tier. If you miss those authentic New Orleans flavors as much as I do, the Voodoo Chicken Pasta is a must-try; it captures that NOLA spirit perfectly. I also highly recommend the White Lotus cocktail--it's surprisingly sweet for a whiskey drink and absolutely delicious. Playa Vista finally has the upscale sports lounge it deserves at P.V. House. The vibe is high-end yet comfortable, and the service is some of the best I've encountered. While it's surprisingly peaceful even on game nights, don't let the lack of a crowd fool you--the food is a grand slam. I primarily came to PV HOUSE for the concert that was the local band VENICE . I really enjoy their music so I came here for the four days of Super Bowl. The employees are very cordial and helpful. The first thing I had a problem with was the fact that there's no prices on the drinks Menu! So whatever drinks you want, you have to ask the waiter if you care about how much it cost, which is something not a big fan of at all. PRICES should be on the menu. There was a bit of miscommunication with the waiter and I think he just has to pay a better attention to what the customers are saying. He was still a very nice person and he meant well. As far as the food goes, First, my wife and I shared a fish and chips. I really like the fries and the seasoning on them. The size of the pieces of fish were definitely on the small side, but they gave us four small pieces and we split it. I would have liked it if they were a little bit larger. Since we will still hungry we ordered the chili, the only chili they have is made with vegetarian meat. I definitely would have preferred beef (:. The bottom line is I really like the atmosphere and it was a good time. I definitely see some room for improvement on a few things. I will patronize them in the future when I'm in the area. Great place to bring family and friends for a delicious meal. The open air sports bar and restaurant is perfect for the warm summer weather. There was plenty of seating during the lunch hour. I chose this restaurant because it a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Frank seated us right away. I ordered the jerk chicken salad and my friend ordered the buffalo cauliflower with chopped carrots and celery and ranch dressing. My salad was a large portion and fresh. I ordered a hurricane martini which was delicious. The bartender did not skimp on this drink. This is a great place to watch your favorite sports game. I plan to return for the World Cup games. From every angle of this sport bar there are comfortable seats with a view of a TV. There is a large patio with comfy seating. The walls a covered with sports memorabilia (really nice touch). Ed and Eddie are our guys and have always been so attentive, welcoming and really help create a personable experience when we come in. Now when it comes to the food and drinks...another 5/5 category. The chicken wings and tenders are my absolute favorite. The tenders particularly are so juicy and crispy. I am so glad this place is here! It's what I wanted the previous iterations of this space to be. Sometimes you want a delicious but simple food. This is what this place is. I've been here for dinner and breakfast now. For dinner, I wasn't that hungry so I went with just an app of nachos. Dear God, these are probably meant for like four people it's such a giant portion. I was not prepared. It was good, but bring a friend for these. For breakfast, I am a simple girl and usually just want a two egg plate. Here they serve it in a scalding hot cast iron pan, with eggs, hash browns, crispy bacon and a side of toast. You can also get sausage, which is also good, but I went well done bacon (not pictured). The vibe is super cool and LA and it's in a great spot in the runway. Definitely taking the torch from what gulp used to be and making it even better than neighbors which previously helped this spot. The sliders were very small (two mini sliders) with a minimal portion of fries, and the quality didn't quite make up for it. I visited this place on a Sunday while the Chicago Bears were playing against the Green Bay Packers, and I had a fantastic time. The service was excellent--quick, friendly, and the food was surprisingly good for a bar. Plus, they welcome dogs, which is a nice touch. We walked and in and were seated right away. We were asked where we wanted to sit and picked a booth near the bar. Our drinks and food came out pretty fast which we appreciated. We ordered wings and a ceasar salad. The portions were large. The wings came with the sauce on the side so you can choose how much to add and the veggies were shredded in the middle with a vinegar sauce like a mini salad. With the buffalo rub it was an unusually creative take on wings for a sports bar, and fits with the elevated sports bar theme. We liked that there were tvs everywhere with different games so there was always something to watch from each table. Checked out P.V. House recently since it just opened in Playa. The space is nice, staff was friendly, and the TVs make it a solid spot for watching games. That said, the food was disappointing. We tried the nachos, wings, cauliflower wings, and poke. Unfortunately, the poke was slimy and had an off fishy taste- we ended up sending it back. The rest of the food was just okay. For the price point, I expected higher-quality ingredients across the board. It's brand new, so I'm hopeful they'll tighten things up over time. This place replaced Neighbors and I'll say it's on par at the same level. Generally speaking it's the same stuff and has that same bland and bleak vibe. But I wanted to give it a try. Servers are nice enough and it was empty on a Tuesday night. Here's our order and notes on each: - kids tenders and fries: kids loved it. Fries are actually really good. - kids sliders: my daughter literally said this: "it tastes like butt" - fish and chips: really underwhelming. No flavor and 4 thin pieces. It literally looked like it came out of a bag. I won't ever order this again. - BLT: probably the star of the show, amazing sandwich, like Millcross Coffee. Great portion, crunch, smokey flavor, and tasty drizzle. Well worth trying. Other than that everything about this place screams mediocrity and out of place, like some small town sports bar in El Segundo playing in the big league on the Westside. I wanted PV House to win because too many paces on Runway close. But they need to up their game. A few suggestions: 1. Get a better vibe. It cant just be bland broey sports 2. Better menu: it's very simple and meh. I had a hard time wanting anything on here. I almost rather just to to Urban across the way. 3. Get rid of food items that don't work. More sweet than I like but tasty so drank it all Food: We got the calamari, nachos, chicken tenders and voodoo pasta to share. - This is not your usual bar food, calamari had a light and crispy coating, I could finish that plate by myself - Nachos had everything you could ask for - Chicken tenders surprised me the most. Its not the kids meal I pictured but a light and intriguing coating with actually tender and moist chicken! This is the best I've had and it would ruin all future kids pallettes if they expected this everytime. It came with ranch, ketchup and a hot sauce that was perfectly tart, not hot. - Voodoo pasta I expected to be spicy because it was a jerk description but not at all and sauce and pasta texture was what you always dream of. Bathrooms were clean and had touchless sensors which is much appreciated! I can see this being a local favorite. I wish I lived closer but with easy street parking and everything above, I can see myself coming at least once a week. The food was cooked perfectly, unfortunately it lacked flavor. We ordered chicken tenders, calamari, and fish and chips. Only the fish and chips stated that it was cornmeal crusted but, in reality, all three were. All three were cooked perfectly but all 3 were bland. The cornmeal batter is the culprit. It's so overly neutral that it subverts the flavor of the food. I can only imagine what the cod would have tasted like with a beer batter. We didn't finish the calamari because it just wasn't particularly good. Again, it was just bland. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. The tenders, even with their buffalo sauce, tasted bland. I'd lose the cornmeal batter if I were them. Again the food was cooked well it just wasn't that great. The service was really good and they checked frequently on us. Ordered the Fried Calamari as an appetizer and then my friend and I ordered a Turkey Burger and a Cheeseburger. It was a little loud in the restaurant for me, but I do have a hearing loss. This is a beautiful new sports lounge in Playa Vista. What an amazing venue to watch your favorite game at. The sports memorabilia throughout the entire space is really impressive. You're able to watch the game from virtually any spot in the restaurant and the TVs are crystal clear and great quality. The interior design and layout has a comfortable feeling with great energy throughout. I had a bbq turkey burger and the Smokey Hibiscus Margarita. The turkey burger was so fresh and delicious! The craft smokey hibiscus margarita was really fresh and outstanding. The service was outstanding even though the restaurant was extremely busy! We hosted my husband's 50th birthday party in their private area and it was everything we wanted and more. First and foremost, the FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! They worked with us to create a special menu for the party. We started with loaded nachos, chicken wings and tenders + fries. Everything hit the spot perfectly. For entrees, I was expecting mediocre bar food TBH. I was SO WRONG. Huge Chinese chicken salad with fresh, crispy lettuce and all the fixings. My mom LOVED her salmon with crispy Yukon potatoes. I've been to this place twice. 1st visit was better than the second. The first time I went , i was with my husband, best friend, and two small children. We had a great time. The food was good, especially the chicken quesadilla. The second time i came, we were able to secure a babysitter and came with just my husband and my best friend. We sat at the bar, and had a turkey burger, and the wings, They were pretty tasty. Our bartenders were great, but unfortunately they told us they had a 3 drink maximum. We decided to leave, but before leaving we wanted to know why we were the only people at the bar subjected to that rule . We were informed if the manager doesn't think we're locals he'll cut customers off because he doesn't want them drinking and driving. We thought it was interesting that he assumed we weren't locals, because my friend has been a local of that area for about a decade now, and we walked to PV bar from her house. When we informed the manager of that he apologized and let us stay. We felt a little uncomfortable so we ended up leaving. It was a very weird experience. I'm kind of sad about it because I really liked this place at first. Maybe I'll be back once I get over it. read more
