As many of the reviews state before me - this place is covered in rats and their feces. I left the country - stored my items here for two years. Came back to an unreal stench in my unit. Everything was either chewed to bits or destroyed by pee and covered in poop. To top that off, rent increased three or four times - it seemed every time I checked there was a different rate. A friend of mine went to check on the unit a few times and let them know about the infestation. They stuck a few pieces of poison in the unit, to no avail. Not even nibbled on. Save your money - sell your things rather than leave them here. read more

I missed move in and they charged me $30, spoke to 3 people to see if the unit was still available and they said they had to contact the property manager and then they would email me back. They never emailed me back, and then a week later got a bill in the email for the unit i was already "moved out" of. Now cannot get in contact with anyone to remove the charge as I already got alternative storage. read more

I rented a storage unit from here in 2025 and had it for about 8 months. the Lock worked right up until my last visit, and wouldn't work. I called the guy in the office to come help and he told me my only options is to call my OWN locksmith and pay for them with my OWN money, or he'll request someone on behalf of the company that could take 30 days to swing by and have my lock replaced... Very shitty service and they don't offer alternatives read more

Poorly maintained facility. Had a rat infestation in my unit because management refused to do anything about vermin on their property. Saw unhoused individuals occupyng units. Door locks were consistently broken. Ceiling tiles were falling down in the storage buildings. Rent was constantly increased without any added value. Management actively avoided answering and returning calls related to issues. They obviously need to post fake positive reviews on here and Google (which now actively hides negative reviews by the way - how much did y'all have to pay Google for that???) otherwise their rating would be abysmal. Avoid like the plague you're likely to contract from the rats roaming their storage units. I'd give negative stars if it were possible. Will never do business with Public Storage again. read more

Three rent increases in a year. No Light, it's always been broken. Previous renter ripped lock out of one of the latch openings. They want top dollar for baby rats falling from the ceiling, 118 degrees F on my last visit. Ventalation on the roof, but no make up air (way to draw cooler fresh in) genius. Maybe they sweep monthly or so, but the piles of dead crickets and rats dates it to about every 6 weeks if your lucky. And you better be gone by 9pm, so you have no choice but to fight EXTREME heat. Unfortunately, I will moving my storage elsewhere. I've seen and heard about rat feces in units and not to mention the rates are unbearable during these inflation times. Management does not offer lower rates even though you have had a unit there for some time. "Hope you have insurance!" Bad enough that they jacked prices up in middle of pandemic, but have lax security, incompetent management and no security cameras of critical areas. Had unit for nearly 2 years. Recently moved out and found 2/3's of items stolen. 2 TVs, vacuum cleaner, bar stools, all kitchen appliances, toaster, coffee maker, silverware, utensils, cookware, books, tools, network cabling, power supplies, surge protectors, linens, bedspreads, sheets, blankets, all electronics.... When I opened unit, all lids to my (remaining) storage containers were removed. Out of 20 storage containers, only 6 were left. Cannot even put together stored desk, as thieves took container with screws. Might as well have taken desk too. (see pictures) When reported to manager, all she would say is - "I hope you have insurance". Manager went as far as saying it would not do any good to report to Austin PD without pictures or other evidence of items in placed in storage. Then questioned: * who did you give code to? - "no one" * who did you give keys to? - "no one" * are you sure the movers actually stored the stuff? - "absolutely" No evidence of break-in. Keypad log shows last time I visited was in 2020. Round lock shows no evidence of tampering (see picture). IMO, it was done by an employee or another tenant. For what I paid, all they had to do is keep my stuff safe. And they could not even do that. Having a facility manager living on-site means nothing. FYI - I have discovered they have videos on howto pick Public Storage circular locks with nothing more than a zip tie. Took demonstrator about 14 secs. After calling them and submitting online inquiry, finally got a response stating - "Unfortunately, I am not clear on what you are requesting. Please provide more details on how we can help." Seriously? You mean you need specifics on how to do your job? ----- " 1. Provide alternatives to using that round lock to customers. 2. Install security cameras in the building(s) hallways. 3. Provide security advisories to tenants once a theft has been reported at a facility. 4. Hold facility managers accountable when a breach of security like this takes place. 5. Stay current on how your security measures are being circumvented by criminal elements. The video I watched on how to pick "Open Storage" round locks was posted over four(4) years ago. I do not believe this is the first time this has occurred at your storage facility. Nor do I believe I was the only tenant targeted by this individual thief. I suspect other tenants have been robbed as well and have: 1. already notified Public Storage and made you aware; or, 2. have yet to discover it; I expect you to take pro-active measures to reduce risk of something like this happening again. In general, I've found major "national" companies are less responsive ie. not as customer service oriented as smaller storage companies. Public Storage on Ben White in Austin is the exception. The manager, Reanna, is such a professional - very helpful, courteous, friendly and made sure that my needs were not only met - they were exceeded. With all of the market instability as a result of COVID - I am so thankful to have a company I can count on to NOT shift prices excessively and to provide the personal services I can trust. Prices go up fast! See bellow... The property was recently updated with new garage doors. There are no problems with access during daylight hours. In general no better or worse than other storage facilities, BUT They have been increasing prices 20% a year. At this point, I am paying nearly double of what I paid 5 years ago when I first moved in. Back then it was reasonably priced, now it's more expensive per square footage than an apartment. Keep in mind that the price you pay now won't last! read more

I have had nothing but bad experiences with the facility. First from no property personnel while needing to change a reservation that I could only do in office at the facility, next being given a gate code that did not work (I work until 5pm so my hours to drop off a load or two would be after) . I called to try to speak with a office manager mind you there is never someone in office to speak with during business hours nor after business hours they return your phone call the next day after you've been waiting for about an hour to hopefully get a call and a new gate code to enter with your vehicle full of boxes. And lastly my gate code still did not work after they reset it and went back vehicle fully loaded again and still no entrance mind you no one answers the phone line so I had to leave again with my vehicle loaded and wait until someone could contact me. Finally someone from Public Storage contacted me to let me know that the code was set to office hours which they don't understand why but I asked the gentleman if he could check the code before I had to drive all the way up there again and he said that he could not check because everyone's code works during business hours. Luckily this last time while I had no boxes (did not want to deal with the hassle of reloading vehicle) the code worked. Very hard to contact the property. Would not recommend. read more

I have a vehicle parked in the lot at this storage facility. The lot and restroom are always neat and well maintained. There is a manager named Kim there that is the hardest working person I know. MOLD MOLD MOLD!!! Get your stuff OUT ASAP!! This Public Storage is covered in MOLD! I rented space at this location and was told that it was mandatory for me to purchase insurance coverage to cover the items that I put in storage there. I complied and purchased the policy. When I went to remove the items that I had in storage, I found that they were covered in MOLD. I contacted the office about filing a claim for the damage. They directed me to Perfect Solutions Storage Insurance. Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc represents PERFECT SOLUTION STORAGE INSURANCE PROGRAM, the mandatory insurance company for Public Storage. They evaluate damage and claims. Sedwick Ins Co will determine if it is MOLD or water damage based on the management team's assessment. Then determine if you have a valid claim. Note: their insurance only covers $350.00 worth of damage for MOLD less the $100.00 deductible...total payout $250.00 for a MOLD claim. That does not even cover the cost of clean-up, let alone the cost of new mattresses. In addition, * no one contacted me to let me know that the storage unit that I rented was damaged or that water had leaked into the unit. * my items were also damaged due to the fact that at least one of the storage units was being used as living quarters and the "resident" smoked. * So now I have mattresses that were affected by both mold and smoke. * Several large antique pieces that have mold growing on them. If you were considering renting space, I WOULD NOT. If you have items stored at this location, I would check your unit, as it might be affected, by the recent rains...Water Damage & MOLD! read more

Great customer service. Mary was always helpful and returned my calls. I never had a problem with the unit or location. My only complaint is that I spent way more money than I would have liked. I did not get the $1 move in rate and ended up having to pay the full month for both first and last. Just read the fine print and talk with the location, not the customer service line. read more

Came back to our storage rental a week after we got all the initial rental stuff done and after we got done placing all our stuff in storage, we closed the door, but were then unable to get the lock in the latch! Had to wait about 30-40 minutes for the ONE staff member to get done showing other clients around to service our complaint even though we were technically there before the other couple. read more

I was looking for an affordable storage unit close to where I live this time. I found them online with a great offer for a inside 5x10 unit. I am paying much less then where I was and conveniently closer. I spoke with Rebecca when I made my reservation and she answered my questions and the following day I shown around by Adrianne. I did most of my stuff online so after touring the available unit, Adrianne was able to process my paper work quickly. It'd been a great experience thus far! The only down fall is they do not provided carts to use for unloading, so bring your dolly. read more

If I could give this place 50 stars I would. Kim is the nicest person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was smart enough to know that I had wanted a space to small for all my stuff and pointed in the direction of a better unit. Boy, I don't know what I would have done had I kept the unit I originally wanted. She cared and didn't just put me in something just to put me in something. She saved me lots of time and money. Manager is a cute Asian chick, forgot her name but she Hott thought. That's beside the point though and has nothing to do with the rating but I want to be as informative as possible for you guys so yeah. Facility is very clean and easy to access. Never had a problem with anything mechanical. They work with me on late payments. I truly feel lucky to have landed here. read more
