I have called every day since I went to the Public Storage on Van Buren on July 6th. No one EVERY answers the phone. It always goes straight to voicemail. I don't understand why someone if working if you cannot reach them. Jasmine is the worst!!! I have left a voicemail EVERYDAY. Did not receive a call back. I am trying to move in on August 20th and have not received any instructions. Finally the woman called me yesterday, I missed it. When calling back a minute later, it went to voicemail. Then about an hour later she calls and says I need to just come in. I am trying to ask my total price with everything that would be included. Why come in and waste time if I can't even get a number for a price. I do not live close. Money does not grow from trees, that is a BIG decision making step. I need to know that before coming in and paying. Very rude and unprofessional service. Do not store anything here! You will regret it with this service. Many students at the Automatic try storing here but that is a desperate attempt. THEY WILL TRY TO GIVE YOU SOME SORT OF FREE INCENTIVE TO MAKE YOU WRITE A 5 STAR REVIEW. DON'T DO IT. This facility is very clean and organized. Marie is such a pleasant person to work with. She was the employee I spoke with when I first rented my unit. She was very helpful and answered all questions I had. She greets not only me but everyone as they enter the building. I had a small issue with my locker in which Marie was so very helpful in getting the situation resolved. I would recommend this unit to anyone that was looking for an affordable storage unit where they feel their valuables and possessions will be taken care of in the most respectable way. The previous reviewer mentioned that the staff was "unfriendly". That is an understatement. I had to call the police because Public Storage's clerk, Antoinette, threatened to "whoop my a**" because I was "annoying" her. All because when we came to move in with the truck and the movers, Public Storage had no electricity, so Antoinette said we can carry our 1 bedroom up to the 4th floor via stairs, since elevators or loading locks were in-operational without electricity. I told her that I understand that her powers are limited, so I would like to speak to a manager or customer service to have them help us. She yelled at me, told me to leave and call them myself, but I can't be in "her" office. In the meantime she spoke with at least 3 or 4 people on the phone, and turned her back and waived me off when I asked to speak with them. In the end when we finally moved in and came back the following day she threatened to cut the lock and throw everything out on the street. Apparently, when she was telling us to come back the next day and everything would be sorted out, she meant "call and email customer service yourself because there is nothing that I am going to do other than chat with my mom on my cell and tell her how you are being a pain in the a**" instead of actually doing her job. In the end, I was so scared for my possessions and my well-being that I had to call the cops who had to explain to Antoinette that she can not enter a customer's locker and throw things out when the customer is prepaid for a month. Now, after reading the previous review, I will book the movers again and move my things the heck out of there before half of my stuff disappears. If you don't think that clerks should yell at you and call you names, don't go to Public Storage on Van Buren! read more

Eliza was awesome, she was helpful and the most polite person I have met at this public storage facility. The change in staffing is huge, if it wasn't for Eliza I would not recommend this facility. The prior staff members were lazy, parked their cars in the drop off pick up bays, and acted like you as a customer meant nothing to them. Before Eliza you couldn't get the staff to get up out of the seat to help look for missing push carts, with Eliza on top of everything push carts don't go missing in the first place. read more

I've read all the reviews and hardly can recognize the comments. This was FAR from my time here. Takiyah was a true professional all the way through. I received monthly reminder calls to not get late fees. She was there from the beginning to the end. I see a lot of the comments are dated. If you need extra space in the West Loop, give 'em a try. I'm sure you 'll be surprised at what a new manager can bring to the table! read more

They do not maintain the building, the lights never work and you can't find anything in your unit. I have repeatedly asked them to fix the lights and 3 months later they still have not addressed the issue. read more

I had a terrific experience with this business. The manager was fabulous - competent, friendly and smart. The prices are very reasonable, and my telephone calls were returned quickly. I'd recommend bringing a hand truck if you have lots of stuff. The storage lockers are in an old building, and need to be accessed by navigating a maze of corridors. They're also on several levels. It helps, too, to have someone with you who can open doors as you roll through. I wish I could remember the manager's name; I'd thank her personally. read more

Helpful staff, especially Kim who set up my account, good location and good hours. Only issue is parking as there are only three real parking spots but I've only had that problem a couple times in about four years. Not much else to it, it's a place for extra stuff. read more

Eliza did a great job, very helpful in answering all my questions. Only downside I saw was some minor confusion between what the website was advertising and what was actually available. All units were climate controlled so have the website only advertise some that way was a bit misleading. Otherwise good job read more
