This is my second time using Public Storage. I will say each one is different. The customer service is excellent. I'm not quite sure how the prices compare to other storage companies but it seems reasonable. This particular location I'm using a smaller storage space. I must say I'm a little concerned because the unit I have isn't in controlled air and I saw a few spiders . My concern is when I go to retrieve my belongings will it be filled with bugs. I don't see an option for a controlled environment but they may have it. Kristy was so helpful. I hope that's her name. She was so pleasant and answered all my questions and gave great instructions on what to do. read more

this company and onsite management is so poor - avoid this site at all cost! rude staff and poorly maintained property! This company has been nothing but a headache since setting up these accounts. THEY made an ERROR and had me complete paperwork for the wrong unit and then when they "corrected" their error they failed to put the correct billing email which has now caused additional fees to be added to my bill and caused access issues for my employees. All of this for units that get to be so hot you cant breath in, seems a bit much. SEEK ANOTHER SOURCE FOR YOUR STORAGE NEEDS! read more

The reservation was convenient which is what I needed, and they even left the key and paperwork in my storage unit for me. The two problems I had is I asked to reserve it for the 29th, and when I got all the reservation information it was for the 30th. The more serious complaint I have is they didn't plow the parking lots or the driving area in and around the storage units, and I was stuck carrying all my stuff when the entire ground under me was a big sheet of ice! The snow fell Friday-Saturday, and I moved in on Monday late afternoon, every other business was plowed at this point except for the one I was trying to love fragile family heirlooms into. read more

.Stay clear of this place! The absolute worse after signing up. The on-site property manager Candace was all smiles and helpful until I had a problem. The manager made it a point to ask for a good Google review before the ink was dry on the paperwork, pretty slick! That's when everything went downhill. Immediately you're forced to buy a $3 lock that they charge $25 for. The unit was convenient which is the only reason I chose to use for the temporary storage of my car. It only got worse from there as I was actually locked out of my unit for three days although I had paid in advance for an additional 25 days. They imposed a rule that is NOWHERE IN WRITING or mentioned to me, about the need to keep my empty unit locked. As a result of numerous calls to the corporate office and multiple other numbers I could find over 3 day period, I finally got someone who was supposedly of authority. This person, Joshua Clark, claiming to be a regional manager who was incredibly rude, disrespectful and of no assistance whatsoever dismissed my concern and protest. Ultimately a Ms. Johnson returned a call from two days previously and offered a token amount for my inconvenience. It bears mentioning the overhead door and locking mechanism never worked properly and was always presented a struggle to enter the unit. The ultimate episode was of course when the entire ceiling fell on my car and the same suppose it regional manager was again extremely rude, insulting and essentially said we're not going to help you in any way. Not our fault our ceiling fell in on your car! I've since moved my vehicle to Cube Storage in Annapolis and happen to mention my episode at the Crofton Public Storage facility. Wouldn't you know the manager there and employee, knew the location well and mention it's common knowledge that location has had a chronic problem with disrepair and falling ceilings for years. If I was able to give Public Storage, Crofton zero stars, I would. The absolute worst place and again STAY CLEAR and spread the word. read more

I rented a unit here late last year. The rental setup and initial experience was worthy of many kudos. Simple, quick, and ready to roll in a short time. The property itself is in dire need of repair. The unit I was rented has drywall panels detaching from the ceiling. There were many panels dropping down in the hallways going to the indoor unit as well. The front gate is never locked. Not once has it been locked when I've visited, so I can only assume it is broken. The exit gate is currently broken as well, and the panel used to enter your pin/open the gate was completely snapped off the pedestal and hanging by the wires. The last four times I've stopped by the unit to drop off items, the exit gate was stuck in the open position as well, so there are currently no working gates to secure the facility. read more

In general is a good place to store equipment and book, and furniture. But my unit has a light fixture to be fix and it was reported to the front end clerck but the fixture sill the same. As for the rest is good read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF HERE!!! First let me start by saying this place is NOT climate controlled. I've been storing stuff at this facility for 2 years. They have had 3 managers since I've been using this facility. I was lied to when I first got my storage unit I was told the facility was climate controlled when indeed it wasn't I didn't realize it until I had already locked in a contract and moved in half my stuff. I know I should've checked out the unit before I locked in a contract with them. They also raised my rent $30 every 6 months I was told my account would be looked at to possibly not have my rent raised well that never happened and if it did I wasn't talked to about it. I reached out to there district manager about numerous things on several occasions with no call back. So after about 6-10 months later I told the manager that there was a leak overtop of my facility. She insisted it would be fixed. Well it wasn't and I didn't go to my unit as often as I should've. Well after the third manager and a brand new district and regional manager they finally fixed it after almost two years of complaining so instead of moving my unit I was given trash bags to cover my stuff they did work on the ceiling WITHOUT calling me to have me move my stuff out of there way. So there was drywall and concrete dust all over our stuff. Then I noticed after a year and a half that my family's antique table had mold on it. I brought it to the managers attention and she told me to cover my stuff with a tarp and add a moister control beads in my unit so we did. This was October of 2018. When we returned yesterday to move our stuff to another storage facility and the tarp was moved and several boxes that were taped were open. Someone was definitely looking through our stuff. So yesterday my boyfriend and I moved our unit from public storage to self storage plus. As we were moving our stuff out 90% of our stuff is ruined almost everything is MOLDY OR WATER DAMAGED. so I brought this to the managers attention as we were moving out she just hands me a brochure for there insurance and says contact them. She showed no compassion about my stuff being completely ruined. She did say she would come check my stuff out and never came to look at it,probably bc she had already looked through our stuff without our knowledge. All my pots pans waffle iron couch futon clothes books convection oven food processor etc etc is all ruined. I now have to start all over and buy brand new everything. so I basically overpaid for 2 years to store stuff that I can't even use ever again. BUYER BEWARE. PLEASE DON'T RENT A UNIT HERE. also when we were moving out I noticed mold all over the ceiling in their facility. After you move all your stuff out you have to have the manager check your unit to make sure everything's out of there well when she came to check everything she was wearing a mask probably so she wasn't breathing in mold so that tells me she's aware. When I showed her the mold on the ceiling she didn't care and just brushed it off saying we are aware. Well if your aware then do something about it. Then in December of 2018 I came in to pay my rent and the whole office smelt like pot. The manager lives at the facility so I'm pretty sure she smoked pot in her apartment and the smell leaked into the office since there right next to each other. I played stupid and said wow it smells good in here. She did spray perfume but it didn't cover the smell. I should've brought it to the district managers attention back then but I didn't. Also the gate was broke for over a year so anyone could get into the facility. They finally fixed it about a month ago but there's still a gate you can use to just walk back and forth without entering in a code. I was paying $140 at public storage for a 5x9 we are now paying $55 for a 5x10 at self storage plus in crofton. Self storage plus is more then half the money for a better facility then public storage it's climate controlled and they care about your needs. They supply carts and a FREE moving truck. They kept raising my rent but I never saw any repairs or anything being done until recently since they fired all the high up management and hired new people. DO NOT RENT A UNIT AT PUBLIC STORAGE UNLESS YOU WANT ALL YOUR STUFF TO GET MOLDY AND WATER DAMAGED. i wish I could include pictures of my stuff so you guys can see it. read more

I was referred to Public Storage by a friend who rents there already. She told me that I would have a wonderful experience and the process would be a breeze. When I arrived the manager on duty kiarra stood up and greeted me as I walked in the office. I was very pleaded with that. She was very friendly and informative as what to do as a tenant, what size would be suitable for my items, and what protection I will for the items in storage. When doing the lease, kiarra explained it to me thoroughly so I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. My friend was right, this was a pleasant experience, and I'll definitely be a customer for a while! read more
