Rented a few months at fair online starter rate (reserve online even if just a day before for best rates)! Clean facility, friendly staff who made renting & canceling process personable and smooth. Autopay is great option, and the system emails you every month prior to charging as a reminder. Air-conditioned indoor secure building, and not very busy. Yes there are a couple of flat beds provided, but not always available so do recommend bringing your own hand truck if available. read more

Great location and great rates. I had to give only 3 stars for the following reasons: 1. The bathroom for the customers was very dirty. Trash on the floor and unclean. 2. The gate access makes you exit your vehicle when you enter and exit. This should be positioned in a location that the driver can access from their vehicle. 3. I noticed certain units have access to a light that is inside the storage unit. The unit rented to me did not include this feature. 4. The location hours are somewhat limited. I would like to see hours until 10 pm. 5. You have to make a u-turn in order to access the property. 6. Access off of the 133 will involve a toll. So be aware of that. I don't want my staff sending me tickets for toll violations. The rate good, so I decided to give them a try. read more

Avoid Public Storage if you can. There are other better options out there - compare prices and avoid this place like the plague. I've rented a 10x10 unit for close to two years. The rent price of $127 increased to $151 after only 5 months and there was no email notifying me of this increase. Then another increased was to occur this upcoming month to $184, atleast this time I was given notice. But only after 1.5 years, the price went up close to 50%. That is unacceptable. I decided to move all my items out asap - no longer satisfied with paying money to this company. Public storage in general is actually not a smart move - I actually think for the total accumulated cost of rent for the total time there - I probably could have repurchased close to 2/3rds of the items in the unit. Main issues I want to share with you - 1. From the start...They gave me the furthest unit all the way in the very back in the very back corner of their facility. There is no other unit that is further from their entrance than my unit. They became way waaay too strict during the time I rented...from having dollys easy to use, and restrooms available - it suddenly became the most unequipped storage facility EVER. 2. They decided to REMOVE ALL THE DOLLYS - there is no equipment to assist with moving items to and from the unit. If you want to use their dollys, you have to check one out - which means you have to use them during their office hours - which is very unreliable as is. They must have had a theft issue with this location (Which is another bad sign...) But how cheap can a company get??? To take tens of thousands a month from their customers, and not even offer up a dolly that costs them only a few hundred bucks if stolen...c'mon. 3. They locked all their restrooms. You might as well take a shit in the bushes. What the hell PS. 4. Don't even think about staying past their storage unit hours of 9pm, the inner doors no longer accept your pass code past 9pm, orignally they did but they became way more strict - once again, without emailing their customers. I was locked out of my unit which was open and exposed, I had to returned right at the opening hours of the unit the next day to lock up the unit. Was sooo pissed off that they did this to us. With double security gates (keypad codes to get in and out) and cameras ALL OVER, you'd think they be okay with a little bit of an honor system with the dollys and the restrooms. There is also a spider infestation in the units. You'll end up with spiders in your boxes. These are the kind that move fast and definitely give you a good scare. I brought some back home with me. Other than that - I never had a break in the unit, no theft, and my belongings are all still intact. So take it as is. I am not going to give a star for that though - my rating is based on the fact that the customer is definitely not first when it comes to this business. read more

Public Storage became CubeSmart and the prices went up big time - typical for storage places but PS was pretty good prior to the take-over. Sigh. Will have to move my stuff since these places are notorious for down-selling to get you in there. Insist on a one-year contract of no raises at least you'll have some safety in avoiding rent increases. read more

This storage facility is clean and reasonable compared to other facilities in the OC. The staff is friendly and helpful. Jerri and Devon are friendly and nice. We had an indoor unit and it was easy to get to and they had flat carts to use whenever you needed them. read more

I have been a customer of Public Storage on and off for years. This location I have to say has been the biggest nightmare. I have had increases in my rent over the past year but this increases is $60 A MONTH!!! I have been increased $110 in just over a YEAR!!!! I live in Hawaii so I feel very taken advantage of. I rearranged my holiday plans before flying back to Hawaii to move my life out of my current space to only find out as well that they DO NOT PRORATE RENT any longer. Icing on the cake!!! Drive up units have really old and ineffective weatherproofing and no rope pulls so contents get dirty and doors can be really hard to lift. Rent increased pretty regularly over the past couple of years so was twice the starting rate within 1.5 years. read more

Been a customer here for about 5 months. A couple months ago they implemented a new policy that you have to leave your driver's license at the front office in order to use their dollies. I gave them my ID to use the dolly for 10 minutes. Came to the front to get my ID and the doors are locked with a sign that says manager will return in an hour. What the Heck!!!! I have to wait almost an hour now to get my license back. Totally unacceptable!!! read more

I've had nothing but positive experiences at this Public Storage Location! This location is pristine, safe, well laid out, and the staff and management here is always helpful and friendly. I appreciate how well maintained this property is, and I never have a doubt that myself or personal items are safe here. I also appreciate that there is ample parking and moving dollies when I am in need of one. I recently had to move out of one unit, and into another on this property, and I was lucky enough to work with Eliana during this process.She understood that I was feeling anxious about the move, and went out of her way to be accommodating. She located a new unit that was only a few doors done from my old one, making the move take under an hour, rather than several hours. In fact, the entire process was surprisingly fast. Eliana was extremely efficient in the processing of my new paper work, and was prompt in completing my move out inspection. She is truly an asset to this team. I have been trying to get into contact with someone for over a month. This place falsely advertises that it is "open" the gate and codes are open. But the office is 100% closed. Every time I have gone here I cannot get anyone to help me. I have been locked out of my unit and have gotten no assistance. I am moving and have no access to MY belongings. This place is terrible. Can someone give me a fucking call as to how I can get into my unit that I've been paying rent on since March? read more

I would NOT recommend this storage at all!!! They ran my ATM card, however they could not accommodate me with the unit I wanted, they said give them 3 days to credit it back to my bank account, still didn't happen, my bank tried to reverse it and they refused, they also rented out the storage that I was originally going to get and still charged me. I have called on several occasions and got the run around. I was told that the storage I rented has been rented to someone else. I've called Brittany 949-328 7635 at the Jeffrey in Irvine location, many many times and told that it is still pending, (what a great manager, she said give it 3 days, didn't happen, weeks went by) I have called the district manager Tiffany and left messages, no return call. I left a message for her boss Bilal Ashi 1714 338 1262 and still waited for a call. They do not have people skills and never answer their phones. They have been holding $146.54 of my money for almost a month now, they also told me that there is no special move in prices since Covid 19 everyone is renting all the storages. I highly recommend Life Storage over public any day! Life storage always answer their phones and have awesome deals going 6 months long, not just a month. Update!!!! Tiffany just called me, they are going to refund me $90.00, they are keeping the rest for admin fees cause they had to stage the unit to rent it to me is what she claimed!!! Stage it???? Just called back, they stated that they will cut me a check for $25.00 for my administration fee, it is now Dec. 11th, where is that $25???? Your guess is as good as mine. Rep refused to listen & I told him to stop with the name calling & would record he said NO cuz it's against their policy and hung up. I went to a location to show the receipts to clear situation & I was rudely treated, Agents refuse to cooperate with me, they started calling other locations pretending to be supervisors & even they admitted they were confused & informed me they have no supervisors nor General Manager. I'm a graduate student who has been back and forth from Orange County to San Diego for school and internships. I'm also from out of state. I used one of this locations' smaller units in their climate controlled building and it was perfect! VERY CLEAN, great customer service, easy to use the unit, and I enjoyed feeling that my things were safe (you need your own personal code for the front gate and again for entering the climate controlled building). The initial renting process and final cancellation process was so easy. I had never used a storage unit before but would definitely consider using public storage (especially this location) again! read more

I spent five years and literally thousands in storage fees over those years to a place whose Manager Jeri (I think is a passive aggressive tyrant) is a horrible person to have to deal with I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I live on a very tight fixed income wanted to downsize to a 5x8 from a 10x16 but in order to get the online rates you have to redo the whole move in process all over again. Which means even if you are already a tenant you have to pay another $22.00 admin fee (which you have already paid previously) and that not so mandatory insurance fee is mandatory if you want to move into the other unit. Oh and furthermore you are forced to pay but Jeri claims she can then cancel the next day but you don't get your fee back? So why pay it? Why!? Because as Manager Jeri explains its a business and not a charity. Really? I pity anyone having to deal with this woman. Don't say you haven't been warned. Oh yeah, I believe some crazy Goth guy who dresses all in black and has a pierced face, (lips, eyes and nose) who wanders around and curses and talks to himself is living in one of the units? Whether known or unknown to Jeri but just another FYI. Find another place if you expect to be treated better especially if you are a long term tenant who expects loyalty. read more

I opened an account with this Public Storage in December '13 under a "holiday rate." I specifically asked if this rate would go up after a certain amount of time, and I was assured by the salesperson that I was "LOCKED IN" at the special rate. This month, I got a notice saying that my bill was going up $10 a month, and two days later I get the bill. Beware that this place misleads new customers, and does not give you an opportunity to cancel before charging you a new rate. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is that the place is clean, and my items haven't been stolen. read more

I have been keeping my personal belongings in this location since 2004. I have never had a problem until recently. About 4 to 5 months ago I rented a much much bigger space in their "new" building. It "looks" all safe except during december, someone broke into it and took my collectables and belongings I have had for over 20 years. I was devastated needless to say. I found out at this point that they do not have camera's. in the facility. Other than at the gate. I contacted the regional manager they didn't really do anything about it. I contacted their higher up and I was pretty much told that I was shit out of luck. ALL I requested was camera's....barbed wire......ANYTHING! But they don't care about my business obviously.... If you were thinking about storing and entrusting your property with this facility, just stop and find another location. It would be worth the slight inconvenience of traveling a couple miles instead of dealing with these morons. Let me tell you about my frustrating experience. The manager of the facility, Brittany, gave an invalid access code and after I had spent all day moving and loaded up the moving truck with the movers we hired, we got to the facility in time, only to be denied by the invalid access given to me by Brittany. I attempted to call their corporate office and the people at the help center were also rude and unprofessional. The movers were trustworthy and kept our property over night in their truck and returned in the morning to unload the truck into the storage unit. Before that I had the lovely experience of dealing with Brittany again who tried to deflect from her obvious mistake of giving us an invalid access code. The movers charged us an additional $305 for their additional services. When I offered Brittany a copy of the invoice the movers had just given me, she declined to accept it and told her she would have her supervisor handle it. I spoke with her manager and emailed her a photo of the invoice I originally offered to Brittany. After their review of the invoice they said that they needed more information and would reimburse us the additional charges caused by Brittany's obvious mistake. I'm still waiting to get the additional information to provide to them in order to get reimbursed, but this should have been handled in a much more professional manner. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache of dealing with Brittany and this company. read more

I have been with Public Storage for 10 years and last year I moved my storage unit to the Jeffrey Road location.The security is great, and the buildings are well lit. I feel safe, and I know that my unit is safe, because not only do I have a gate access code, but I enter my code to access my floor too. If you don't have a unit on a floor, then you can't access that floor. I like that. Plus there's climate control, which is soooo nice when you're moving boxes around! The whole facility is spotless and nicely landscaped. Jerri, the manager, is fantastic. She is very considerate and will go out of her way for you, as well as the rest of the staff there. I am always treated with kindness and respect, and it's always nice when they know you by name. This facility is excellent as far as I'm concerned! read more

Company rental policy is a rip-off on customer who plan to move out on any day of the month the rent is due a whole month no proration while move-in day can be any with prorated rent paid, what an unfair trade practice. Unreasonable and unhappy customers at thee end of the lease, not a good business idea to piss off customer with an unhappy ending. 2. Need driver license to open the lock of moving cart is another negative point, should have a better and friendly way to deal with the shoplifter for the moving cart. I can't fault the staff as they are very courteous, patient, and helpful, but the issue is security. I was loading some things into my storage unit when I realized Irvine police and their CSI came on the scene along with a handyman. Apparently this location has been dealing with a couple of thefts over the last few months. I would think they would have upped their surveillance, hired security, and to stop accepting fake driver licenses and cash. This sounds like a management/corporate issue that needs faster response. Luckily for me, I don't have anything of high monetary value, but there was a fellow who lost a lot of valuables. Step up the security measures until either the thieves are caught or until they stop hitting your facilities. Ultimately it's not PS's fault about the thefts; it is the responsibility of the thieves. However PS has not done enough to prevent the high frequencies of thefts. They should know better at this point. read more

STAY AWAY, HORRIBLE BUSINESS, EVEN THEIR EMPLOYEES THINK SO. I meant to write a follow-up review on the storage anniversary day but did not get around to it. But the business practice was so abhorrent that I think the public, or anyone who's looking into renting a unit should know. First of all, due to the location, your storage unit will be FILTHY!!!! Mine was a drive-up so it's not inside. There are no insulation whatsoever and the unit door mind as well be propped open because all your belongings will be covered in filth, and it's not just dust, but tree leaves, mildew, what have you. We have used many storage places and none came close to the filthiness of this one. Not only that, on a rainy day, water WILL go into the unit from beneath. A month before the one-year anniversary with Public Storage, I received a rate hike notice AGAIN, that's the 4th one in one year, and this time was 65% more than the original rate. But that's not what I am complaining about, they can raise rates however they want because it is not a regulated industry. What got to me was that they were advertising the exact same size unit for 70% less. WTH!!! So I called and asked for the same rate and was denied miserably. I then went ahead and reserved that exact same size unit with the 70% off. Two days before the scheduled move-in, I and went onsite and told the staff that I want to have the new unit added to my account and the price adjusted to the old unit. WE CAN'T DO THAT, OUR SYSTEM WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO THIS. YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO VACATE THE OLD UNIT AND MOVE TO THE NEW UNIT. Says the counter staff, who was sympathetic but had no idea what customer retention was all about. The new unit was 4 doors down, and what we had in the storage were heavy furnitures. So now in order to get the lower rate, I must hire a moving crew to move my stuff 4 units down. WTH times two!! Enough was enough. The lower rate lost its shiny lure immediately, especially knowing that there will be numerous rate hikes within the year regardless of how attractive the rate is at the beginning. We bit the bullet and hired a moving company and hopped to another storage facility in Irvine which offers absolutely the cleanest drive-up units I have ever seen and at a steep discount if you pay in advance for a year (did a lot of homework before the move). The best part is you're not locked in even if you paid in advance. You can close your contract any time and get a prorated refund. Sorry not sharing the name here since I want to keep our rates low, :) Good riddance Public and dirty Storage. read more

I rented here for a few years after graduating from UCI. Seemed okay at time. A couple months ago I was in town and went by to check on my things. The gate was left open. I came back two more times that day and again the gate was open. My husband went into the office (this was the first time all day anyone had visibly been in the office) and asked the blond lady behind the counter to kindly shut the gate. She had tons of excuses and refused to because it was for an auction. In other words, this location advertises to the public that the gate will be open and unattended all day monthly. The following day (2/21), no more than 15 minutes after I crossed through the gate I received an email for a $75 charge. They claim it was for not leaving the (non-vacated) unit in moved in condition. After the fraudulent charge and how rude the office clerk was I decided to move my business to Alton Storage. I wasn't happy with them anyway as they raise the rent $30 every 3 months. I gave notice, tried to find the manager to no avail (again) and left the unit open and unlocked. I received an email 2 days later that the unit was left unsecured and that Public Storage was "not capable of securing the unit." Two days after vacating the unit, I called again about the fee and was told it was for abandoned property. But now the date for the "dumping fee" is 2/25. When I talked with the DM on 4/18 she stated the fee was for dumping. Fast forward 7 weeks, they refuse to close my account because I left like 2 boxes (they were charging me anyway), they altered the date on the first charge to the day after I moved out, are still charging me rent and have put a lien on a unit I vacated. After SEVEN WEEKS of daily phone calls I finally heard back from their district manager, "Tiffany" (who sounds like an unprofessional valley girl on the phone and was the least helpful human being I have ever talked to) refuses to close my account on a vacated unit. I am so glad to give my business to ANYONE else. read more

This location is clean, quiet, safe, easy to drive through within the vicinity. well-lighted at night and with camera surveillance 24 hours. This review is long overdue. Public Storage on Jeffrey is just downright horrible. Monthly rates are increased between $10 - $30 every six months. Not even Covid-19 and the fact that they have many customers out of work will stop them from their greedy rental increases. As another review states below "frequent and drastic rent increases that they say are "industry standards". They don't warn you about it when you move in, and you should expect to pay nearly double your move in rate within 2 years." THIS IS 100% TRUE! Also worthy of noting: the manager is rude, front office often empty, and people follow you thru the gate instead of waiting turn / using code. There are many other storage facilities in Irvine.
