The facility is very clean and climate control is a huge plus. There is plenty of parking and access for large moving fans. Having said that, I do find that their price increase within 6 months was outrageously high but I'm sticking with them for now and hoping that this is not a frequent policy. read more

For the past 7 years I've had my 10x20 storage on Jeffrey Rd location in Irvine. It was my first time to rent a storage room as a result of downsizing my big house. The experience I've had was excellent and I really appreciated all the employees there to help, particular with Miriam, she was extremely helpful, thoughtful, and pay attention to what I needed. So she made my life so much easier. Thanks a lot for keep all my stuff safe and all in good shape. The one star isn't about the facility or it's attendees. It's to warn you of the frequent and drastic rent increases that they say are "industry standards". They don't want you about it and you should expect to pay nearly double your move in rate within 2 years. I expect to move out soon and am dreading the made up charges that others have complained about. read more

My 3 Stars are for Public Storage the corporation. This location is actually well maintained, though is quite dark at night and as a women I don't feel totally safe being there alone when it's dark out. The employees are friendly enough, but didn't return my multiple phone calls inquireing why my rent went up 17% after only 6 months. When I finally went in person they didn't know why I hadn't gotten a call back. It just seems like they're trying not to get in trouble with corporate so I feel bad that they probably get blammed for things that are really corporats fault overall. Public Storage is NOT a company that cares about customer loyalty AT ALL. They're only interested in hooking new customers with their 1st month promotions. I have a space on Jefferson Rd. and they jacked up my rent by 17% after only 6 months in my space! The employees at that location gave me your run of the mill "we can't explain when they'll raise rent, it's corporate" non-explanation. I rented from P.S. in Berkeley, CA for several years and only had my rent increase by a small percentage each year, once a year. I also had to deal with the bureaucracy/semantics of not being able to get the 1st month promotional rate for my new space in Irvine when I moved down from Berkeley. Because I had moved out of my unit up north less than 7 days prior I wasn't "qualified". So I waited that extra 5 days to move in because it saved me over $100 to do so, but it was a huge inconvenience. I was also told that my partner couldn't sign up instead of me to "qualify" for the rate because he was with me when I had this ridiculous conversation with the employees at P.S. I understand that P.S doesn't want people hopping from location to location every month to "scam" the $1 or 50% 1st month deals, but honestly, who has the time to space hop that much!? Wouldn't it be more logical to perhaps give a leeway of say a 50 mile radius? Or a 2-3 month minimum commitment to qualify if you have had/have another unit? People do move significant distances and do need to take their things with them. When we do move we have to pay the current rental rate of the new location anyway. In the end P.S. is coming out on top anyway. I had an employee of an unnamed location in CA tell me that P.S. make $200,000 a MONTH on that location alone in rentals. Sooooo P.S. ain't hurtin for money at all. Due to my experiences this past year with P.S the corporation, I'm trying to downsize quickly enough to get rid of this unit and stop giving my money to Public Storage. For $260 a month I could find a new apartment with an extra room for my own onsite storage read more

I was not happy about being cornered into buying a lock and Insurance from PS. Before my appointment I specifically asked what I needed to bring, they said a valid ID and a CC. When I got there and began signing the paperwork they said, "oh yeah, you need a cylinder lock (very specific kind of lock) which you need to put on right this second before we can lease you the unit and that we happen to have for sale in case you did not bring one. (Why would I have brought one?) Oh yeah, and proof of home owners or renters insurance please. Oh if you did not bring proof, don't worry, we happen to sell various plans, let me show you." I get the up-sell, but don't try and shiest me at the last minute when I specifically asked what I needed to bring to sign a lease. PS, that is BS! read more

We used this Public Storage as we needed one near our home and didn't have time to shop around. When we first arrived the person who was working the office was busy helping someone else. We waited a few minutes and then Corey arrived and helped us. We pretty much had an idea of what we wanted but Corey was no pressure and didn't try to sell us more space than we needed. He walked us to the state of the art building where the unit was and we decided it was perfect. We are on a time crunch as we are moving. And Corey didn't waste our time. He was efficient and polite and we got everything done quickly. We like this place because it is not crowded and has great security. If this is in your neighborhood look no further for a top of the line storage facility! read more

After we visited this storage facility on three different occasions evaluating the units available to rent ( we would be very long term rentals, legal storage) We finally hit upon a good location and size for a storage unit in the facility We were ready to take the unit, but the rep told us we could reserve the unit for a week in the hopes that a much closer unit may become availble. When we showed up a few days later to take the unit. we were told the unit was no longer available. Had we known that they had no intention of honoring the reservation, we would have signed up for the unit on the day they showed it to us. So,although they "seem" to be nice and friendly, please do not reserve a unit as this storage facility does not honor their reservation policy. If they can't honor a simple reservation, I have no high hopes for any other "promises" by this facility or it's managment. read more

My first experience with this location was bad. They did not have any carts available. They said they usually only have two and one was broken. They told me if I wanted one, I'd have to go hunt the other one down myself. Other storage facilities have multiple carts available almost all the time. We have had different units and spaces at this facility for many years. Jeri has been wonderful to us and so has everyone else. It's well maintained and secure. Yes, the price goes up, but that's true of most businesses. The count on people like me that don't want to go through the hassle of emptying our units and moving somewhere else. LOL. I will be downsizing in the future to save some money and I'd like an inside unit due to the dust that has accumulated but overall, I highly recommend this facility. It's one of the best. read more

This Public Storage unit is a very well run, well maintained and safe unit to store your stuff in. I was moving from Irvine to Newport Beach and the sale and purchase of my new home did not go as smoothly as I planned. I needed a storage unit to clear out my old house and this unit was about a 5 minute drive from the house I sold. I at first got a small unit, but realized I needed a much larger unit and Brittany helped me transition in less than 30 minutes. The gentleman at the counter also gave me a full month's refund as he realized that I had overpaid. The unit was well maintained, they had dollies for us to use and the gate hours are geared towards the customer. Even at night I felt very safe and secure in moving stuff in and out. As I was checking out, Brittany once again made the process smooth and easy. Brittany checked me out in less than 15 minutes and she was always a friendly face to ask any questions and such. This is by far the best Public Storage location I have ever been to. The staff, Daniel in particular, was so helpful in choosing the right unit to fit my needs. The original unit I wanted turned out to be a little cramped so he helped me find a larger one and even went as far as to help me save some money! I would give zero stars if I could. I have never been so upset over something so stupid as a storage unit. I had a storage unit here for 2 years, they raised the rent frequently which was the least of my worries. When I was checking out of my storage unit this past August, they let me know I only needed to pay the amount of the 4 days I was there in August and they would credit me the full month. Well little did I know that was a LIE. The company then told me after I paid my partial payment that don't do prorated amounts any longer that started August 1st so I would need to contact the district manager myself to over ride what I still "owed" I called him 12 times over the past 4 weeks, then yesterday received a call from collections saying I never paid my bill. I then called the district managers boss, by the way his name is David and the ridiculous district manager France NEVER called me back! After 5 weeks of calling me! I have never not paid a bill, and I have excellent credit so this is just not right. I hope someone who matters reads this. I manage a huge business and I am responsible for many people and to not even call someone back it just plain rude. I hope karma comes back to you people! Get it together! read more

Surprised with all the hidden fees. Online they advertise $1 first month so I sign up for what I think will be a short term rental. When we show up with our stuff we r told there is a $17+tax fee for the special lock on our unit, that we can't just use the padlock we brought. And, we r forced to buy insurance. The minimum coverage costs $11. I think I should b give a choice to insure my belongings. We ended up spending another $30+ that we didnt expect. Not the $1 for the first month we expected!! read more

Terrible experience. If you want your stuff stolen and then this is the place. Will never use this storage facility. Someone cut the wire above the unit and stole multiple items. Management doesn't give a #### and the insurance does absolutely nothing. Rent increased after the first 3 months for what? No security, awful service, awful business. read more

A computer glitch meant that the agreements had to be done the old fashioned way, by hand, but it was barely noticeable as Brittany had the forms ready in a matter of minutes.
