Again bad customer service and ethics. Had to pay late fees for Sugust even though I paid for it on time. Public storage can manipulate payments due and customer support is non-existent. No one answers the phones or is at the facility. Difficult for a handicapped person to deal with on my own. Don't lease from them! read more

FANTASTIC experience working with Keanu on a last-minute, super high priority move. We absolutely had to have a storage room for staging a complicated series of handoffs between our shipping company (as in SHIPS lol) and our trucking company. They were able to get the shipment on its 20-foot platform off the dock, but wouldn't bring it to our home. They would only bring it to a commercial facility where we could show the proper paperwork including full insurance, which Keanu helped me put together in a matter of minutes. The handoff was painless because the MASSIVE parking and loading area at Public Storage was easily able to accomodate a truck and shipping platform of that size. We got everything secured, and were able to get it all moved in a few regular truckloads home, knowing that everything was safe and sound while we got the rest of the job done. I've done a lot of moving over the years, rented a lot of storage spaces, and this is by far the best experience I've had. read more

My place was clean, but most of the lights did not work and were never repaired. Also, these people will give you a "deal" to get you to sign a contract. What they don't tell you is you have to buy insurance, which adds to the monthly fee, plus there were some other fees thrown in. The WORSE part? They kept raising my rent! Every 3 months it kept going up. There were at least 4 price hikes for the year I rented. So the rate I was given at the beginning ended up being $250 more per month by the time I moved out. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They are dishonest. They don't tell you about price hikes, so you think your locker rental is a fixed price for the year. It isn't. read more

Keanu (Property Manager) was a great hire. The friendliness and upkeep as well as responsiveness of the storage unit improve drastically with his arrival. In June 2022 they added more complementary carts as well as extending the hours the carts were available, now from 6 AM to 9 PM. read more

Be sure to check the internet for better deals than what is normally offered on-site. Be sure to check out the storage area to give you an idea of the measurements. The staff is very good and efficient. There are two drawbacks. There are only two carts to help you with your load. You will have to get out of your car to punch in the access code. Nice to have is their videos that are posted online to help you with moving tips etc. read more

I cleared out my storage space yesterday and moved out completely. Today, I realized after I went though all my stuff, that i couldn't find my Jackery portable power station. I've already tried to look for it couple weeks back but i was only able to skim trough my stuff in the storage unit due to having too many heavy boxes and big containers. But I made sure i had it inside my storage unit from day one. i checked every single one of all the boxes when the military moving company brought them here in Oahu from VA. I had bunch of stuff i had shipped from VA and its hard to keep track now since it's been sitting in that storage for over 8 months. Now thinking about it, there may be plenty of my stuff stolen that i didn't know of. I specifically remember my portable power station because it was one of my favorite things to have for camping and it was pricey. So heads up folks. These storage units are not trustworthy and secure. I've been reading a lot of negative reviews that it might be an inside job or who knows what. Just get y'all unit locked up securely. Maybe set up some cameras inside your unit just to be safe. Buy 2-3 locks if you need to. Don't even get those locks where storage company sells. read more

Renting and storing was not a problem, however upon move out my final month was not prorated. I moved out on the 8th but had to pay for the entire month. If this policy had been CLEARLY delineated in the contract, or better yet, posted around the facility, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Clerk wouldn't budge or offer any sort of grievance procedure. There are lot's of storage options on the island, I would look elsewhere. read more

I had always heard bad things about public storage but so far my experience with public Storage has been amazing. Everything that she had to say already familiar with and I was actually impressed which property is self in also that the manager was very knowledgeable. Most of the time the managers are just kind of winging it and don't really know what you're talking about but her on the other hand she did great and I'm happy that I want to say how happy I am choosing Public Storage it's been a great experience so far. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. Rented on the 5th everything was out by the 2nd. Said we had to pay another $275 because we should have cleared the storage by the 31st. It's in their contract. I agree with Glenn's post. They should have made it clear. Even though you rent on the 5th you only have until the 31st and have to pay again. I guess it's free money for them. They threaten to take us to collection. Greedy people. Very dissapointed. Not right how they write their contract. Very sneaky. I hope they run out of business because of their crooked business practice. Never ever rent from them, please. read more

This is the best Public Storage on Oahu! I had to move my unit to Aiea 99-819 Iwaena St. beacuse it was more convenient for our employees who fly in. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When I went to my unit in Kaneohe 45-1021 Kamehameha Hwy. Fern asked why I was moving and asked how I was treated. I told her my horror story and she asked what she could do to make it better. Fern is amazing! if you love good customer service and to feel like you are ohana go see Fren. Also I had to ask my sister for some help moving things around in my storage unit. My sister brought her dog who decided to leave some landmines. I nor my sister were aware. About an hour later I got a call asking if I brought my dog to the storage unit. I explained I had and was informed on what we left behind. I felt so bad and offered to return and take care of the mess. Fern explained it was refreshing that I was honest about brining a dog and she would take care of it and asked in the nicest way for me not to bring the dog again. read more

I generally don't rate businesses, however there are times when you have a civic responsibility to speak out. This was my experience at that dreadful place: I wanted to store some carpets for one month. I rented a space for $500/ month which I thought was an outrageous amount of money, but I went ahead. Ten days later, I receive a voicemail on my phone saying that I owed them almost $50 for a late fee. Ten days does not make a month! After I called and they read a ridiculous script that they must have had on hand, I knew that I was dealing with some unsavory people. I made arrangements to remove my carpets. Before that happened, I received a notice in the mail saying again that I was being charged at late fee. When I vacated the locker, after only three weeks, they claimed that they had inadvertently sent a late notice to all their clients. REALLY!! THAT IS WHAT SCAMMERS DO. THEY DEMAND MONEY THEY ARE NOT OWED AND SOME FOOL WILL PAY. Do not go there. Do not send friends to this unscrupulous establishment. This is a shameful business that rips off Islands residents and that should be published on the front page of every paper. read more

Needed a storage unit because we were in the process of moving. Units were pricey. $1 for first month but insurance is required and there are other fees. Also, they do not prorate your payment if you vacate early or need it for only partial of the month. Also, when I vacated, there were little roaches on my couch. I would not recommend this facility for storage. Expensive and not very clean. read more

I kept a storage here for 2 years. I had some incidences where my card was lost and had to be cancelled and the company called me to remind me of my payment. Since my card has been canceled the payment could not go through. The workers were very courteous, took care of the payment right away. When I closed my account Fern was very polite and took care of everything for me. It was great to have a secure place with courteous people! read more

I've had to store things a lot all over the country. Some long term, some short term, and some in those large inaccessible storage warehouses. Storage space is expensive here overall. I looked at a lot of places all over the island, and Public Storage had the best combination of price, security, and cleanliness. My stuff was stored for 10 months on the 2nd floor of the main building and there were no apparent animal/insect infestations. Also, my stuff was pretty dry. I live by the water, so I think the stuff in storage did better than the stuff at my house. I initially wanted to go to the nearby climate controlled place, but they lost because no one was at the front desk and they never answered the phone. So, I saved a few bucks and went for not climate controlled. It seems to have worked out well. On top of the very clean, nice space, the customer service was amazing! From the day I moved in, when it felt like they were finding me their favorite storage space, to a few days in between when I struggled to find a cart and they searched high and low to bring me one, to the day when I moved out when they knew me by name despite not having been there in months. For a big company storage facility, they treat you like it's a mom and pop shop. Great job! Aloha Public Storage. I'll miss you, but I am glad to be moving to a place big enough to hold all my stuff again :-) read more

Steve was very helpful and I am glad he was there to assist me. I use Public Storage often and am very pleased with their service. This time however was the most expensive unit I have ever rented at any storage facility in the last 15 years: $650 for the first month including fee and insurance for a 10 x 15. The staff is great. Only problem is they there are no carts to haul your stuff after 6 pm. So iff you want to carry all your stuff by hand after 6 pm this is the place to rent a storage space from. All the other storage places put the carts away when they close. read more

I had mouse droppings all over my boxes both inside and out. I wish i had had more warning about how infested the property is. I would have better protected and sealed my belongings. I also found dead cockroaches everywhere. PS needs to remove the lock stickers prior to tenants moving out. When i was first purchasing the 10by10 the sales lady tried to tell me that rental insurance was REQUIRED. I knew that sounded like bullshit. So i read the paperwork very closely and found that it was not required. I hate liars!! I also do not appreciate having my rental rate increased while I was on DEPLOYMENT. Some thanks i get for serving our country. When compared to mainland prices the 10by10 offered at PS is probably 3x more expensive. Shop around folks! read more

We needed a storage unit rather quickly. I was referred to the Kaneohe site by our movers. The available unit there didn't appear to meet out needs but Fern, the smiling lady who showed me the available unit, was quick to get on the computer and locate a larger space at another site. Then she checked for an even closer storage site and found one with a 10X20 space available. I was impressed that she worked very intently to satisfy me---and, all with a smile and sense of humor. She is a great 'first impression' for the Kaneohe location! I hope this attitude and behavior are present at the Kaimuki site when we arrive tomorrow with the truck! Mahalo big time, Fern! read more
