What I experienced at the Midgard Self Storage in Kissimmee was not the result of one employee or an isolated mistake. In my opinion, the issues I encountered indicate deeper problems within Reliant's corporate supervision and operational standards. Security deficiencies were not minor--they were fundamental. Gates left open, damaged access points, and a complete lack of interior hallway surveillance contradict the expectations set by the company's marketing and staff communication. Even more alarming was the fact that a staff member wrote down the lock code that I was told would be known only to me. This contradicts Reliant's claims about secure, individualized access and raises legitimate questions about how many units under their management are actually vulnerable due to internal access. I was also informed by a manager that the facility was equipped with 'hidden cameras,' which I later confirmed did not exist. This type of misinformation is not only unprofessional--it is dangerous and misleading for customers who rely on the company's representations when choosing a storage provider. After discovering missing property from my unit, I submitted photos, communication records, timestamps, and a police incident report. Despite presenting clear evidence, I received no meaningful resolution, accountability, or actionable response from management. In my opinion, the lack of corporate involvement following a serious incident reflects a breakdown in Reliant's internal processes and a concerning disregard for customer concerns. Based on my experience, Reliant Real Estate Management LLC should reevaluate its operational oversight, security protocols, staff training, and the accuracy of information provided to customers. The issues I encountered were not simply operational--they were structural. Corporate leadership needs to address these failures before more customers are affected. I am sharing this review to ensure that prospective customers, investors, and business partners understand the severity of the issues I experienced and the lack of corporate accountability that followed.

About 7-8 months ago Public Storage bought it out and everything went downhill. The facilities weren't kept up as nicely and the people in the office were never there. I got notification that the price of my unit was increasing by over 33% about 3 months after the switch, which was going to bring my total to over $160 when I had the original 10x10 unit for $99 a month. I wanted to move buildings, switch to a different company, but the convenience seemed worth it to try and downsize. We straightened everything around and I reserved a 10x7 space online for $72 a month, signed a new lease agreement, and chose a move out date for our current unit. Leading up to the date of the move in for the new unit I was getting reminders from Public Storage about my 7x10 unit and being reminded of the price and what to bring on move in day. When it came time to move to the new unit I showed up at 9:30 on the dot (online it says the facilities open at 6am). The door was locked but there was someone there. Tyler came to open the door and immediately scolded me for being there before opening, saying they open at 9:30 and if the door is locked, I need to call the number on the door. I hadn't even had a chance to, I merely pulled on the locked door, I didn't knock, and he came and opened it. I offered to go back outside and call the number and he said no. I told him I was moving into a new unit today and he took my license and told me that I already had a unit and gave me the number of my current unit. I told him we were downsizing and I had reserved the new one, a 7x10, online for $72 a month, provided the reservation number and everything. He told me there were none available and offered me a 6x10 for $84 a month, more money for a smaller unit. I told him no because we needed even that extra 10 square feet of space and he reiterated there were none available and that the reservation means nothing even though I signed a lease agreement. I wasn't able to pay online or else I would have, I told him that and he once again told me that the reservation means nothing. Then why did I get so many emails and text messages confirming the reservations leading up to move in day? Now I'm glad I wasn't able to pay online because of the bait and switch tactics. I told him I would probably end up giving my business to another storage facility and he said the 6x10 there probably wouldn't be available when I came back. I called an Extra Space Storage down the street and was offered a 7x10 unit for $62 a month with first month free and immediately moved all of my things out. Absolutely ridiculous way to run your business. Horrible customer service.

Customer service like chivalry is not dead…read more Moving is a hectic time. Public Storage has made the process less stressful. My husband and I decided we needed a place that held 2 "must-haves:" safety and service. We called every company within 5 miles of 85379, and the phone etiquette of Public Storage set the bar. The agent educated us of their online capabilities. The website would not only confirm the information they had provided, but there was a possibility of saving us money by booking online. Are you serious!? A business looking out for OUR bottom-line, and not gouging us for the nickels and dimes we work so hard? This was the first indication we had found a great company. Upon arrival, we walked into the end of what we only assume was a very intense situation. The assumed customer was apologizing for their actions and wishing the gentleman behind the counter a better day ahead. The two shared a fond farewell and it was on to the next customer (us). My husband believes ice is best broken with a humor-hammer, as such, he offered the gentleman behind the counter a moment to "de-escalate," and with a smile they replied in kind with humor; needing no time at all to assist us. Truly genuine service, begins and ends with the employment of great people. Jeff, the gentleman behind the counter, was as genuine as they come. He asked questions to confirm the reservation we booked online. He offered solutions to our concerns. Jeff even went above and beyond to ensure our access to the property was unhindered. He even educated us to opportunities we had not begun to concern ourselves with. This level of service not only met our service "must-have," it exceeded it. Combine this personal customer service with the options to self-service online and Public Storage has exceeded this millennial-couple's expectations. Public Storage is the bar by which we will judge all future experiences to. During our walk thru of the facility with Jeff, our safety "must-have" concerns were all addressed. The facility has limited hours of access to reduce off-hour activities. This means a Public Storage employee is always on-site during operating hours when customers are present. Public Storage has individual access codes to monitor which customers are entering the facility, and offers insurance for "acts of God" and burglary issues that are beyond either parties' control. Also, there are nearly 20-cameras monitoring and recording the activities of the premises at all-times. To say our safety "must-haves" were met is an understatement. It is nice to know that they even do lock checks. If Public Storage finds a unit with accessibility that should not, they reach out to the customer to advise of the security concern. This shows the commitment to safety and service. We feel confident Public Storage will keep our possessions safe and secure. If safety and service are pillars by which you decide whether, or not, to do business with a company, understand Public Storage Surprise is setting the bar among its competition. We recommend this company to all who ask, and to those seeking comfort through online reviews. . . We are not employed by, nor, have we been paid to write this review. We were so impressed by the level of safety and service, we were compelled to make our neighbors aware of this gem located within their very own city. Public Storage Surprise has earned a life-time customer with us. Give them an opportunity to earn your business, as well.
