I was concerned for the safety of my vehicle and when I asked Jamie if he had a unit available to garage my car... he came through. He found a last unit and completed the paperwork in just a few minutes. He stayed long enough to run several trips home and back to store 3 of our vehicle. There are dozens of units in a multi level building. The lights are on sensors in the hallways so they automatically go on when you enter the particular hallway. The price is much better! We are going to save a few $100 compared to a similar storage unit in Plantation. They have lots of parking available & there is easy access through a main front door. (No need for an electronic gate that takes forever!) The facility is well maintained and it is conveniently located off of Pine Island & Cleary Blvd. They have elevators & flatbeds available so it is easy to transport bulky items. It has been a godsend for us so we're hoping it will work out for years to come.

I have before in the past, and it was not easy! Due to privacy and safety concerns, quite a number of (usually in-person) hoop jumping is required to change the owner of a storage unit. This helpful person wore a mask and socially distanced. At first, I couldn't find the contract they had emailed; they were so chill and patient about this. In the end, everything was changed over smoothly and without hassle. Unlike my CubeSmart storage unit in Lake Worth, where the office is in a completely separate building a driving distance away from the actual storage units, this office was housed right within a large building containing indoor storage units. A handful of parking spaces are squeezed in before the gate, with the office accessible from this parking lot. I love that I don't have to drive into the gate here! The unit itself was easy to find and access. Is it facetious to say a storage space is spacious?!

Stuff happens and sometimes you need a place to park your stuff. If that happens to you, consider a storage unit. It was a great solution for us. We had a storage unit containing boxes of manuscripts (a family member left unpublished manuscripts and unfinished books from her published novel series). We also stored collectibles, music and movies, personal items, etc. We didn't worry about them because the building was secured (you have to enter your code to enter AND exit the parking lot or call the elevator). And each unit had a key-type padlock. The building was cool and spotlessly clean - not one piece of dirt or paper on the floor, anywhere. Even the elevator was friendly (it announced floor numbers to its passengers). They even had wheeled flatbed carts near the elevator. We were able to gain access to the unit 24/7 without issue. The parking spots were near the door so we didn't have far to go to load the car. It was easy and convenient. Recently, we decided to empty the unit because we realized we were storing items we planned on donating. We didn't want to pay a monthly fee for items we planned on giving away. The manuscripts and books went to a college affiliated with the author. The other items mostly went to the local library and Goodwill. We have some boxes in our garage - sadly not as climate controlled as SmartStop - prompting us to go through those boxes, soon! The office rep was very friendly and made our checkout a snap. There was absolutely nothing they could have done to make our experience better - other than not charging a monthly fee!

There is no mention at the time of the lease signing how long the introductory price will last or what the increase will be when the introductory price expires. Very shady and deceptive business practice. They really should have an option for a yearly lease with a fixed monthly rate instead of just a month-to-month lease. The month-to-month lease just gives them an excuse to raise the rate at any time for any amount. Besides the pricing issue, there also is a problem with what clearly are people who are using their storage unit as a form of residence. I see individuals walk up with no car, nothing in their hand except for a bag of food from a local food store and then leave a short time later with nothing in hand and again leave by walking away with no car.
