Could not believe Joyce and Robin's professionalism and courtesy as they found the right storage solution for me. Let me use bullet points to recap: * Though I made my initial reservation online in order to get the $1 special for the first (and only) month I would be using a storage unit, Robin phoned me within 10 minutes of the reservation showing up in her computer, just to ask if I needed help finding their location and to let me know I should bring my driver's license. * When I got there, their friendly conversational tone set me at ease, and we traded stories about the terrible 2014 winter, the weather, coffee in the morning, and so forth. * Once we got down to brass tacks, and they heard I was an Oakland University professor looking to store some books before a move out of state, they realized they didn't have a unit left which would be able to offer the climate-controlled protection needed for the older bindings of the books I do research with. * INSTEAD of trying to sell me a bill of goods on the capabilities of their own site, they instead sent me to another franchise just a few miles away, seeing to it that my initial reservation was honored at the new facility just like it would have been at theirs. Who does that, nowadays? Chat with you like you're a real person, take an interest in the specific needs you have for the business they do, and then make a recommendation that doesn't even put money in their own cash register? I'll tell you who: Joyce and Robin. These are consummate professionals, focused and dedicated employees who give Public Storage the kind of customer service you don't often see elsewhere. HIGHLY recommend them, and their facility, for anybody who needs a storage unit but has specific expectations or requirements to go along with it. read more

I initially went to the Coolidge hwy/ north of 14 mile location. (I'm guessing that's Troy) Some older lady that resembles a retired granny who chose to be a librarian out of boredom was the employee who served me. She wasn't mean or nasty, but she didn't seem customer approachable. I told her the items I needed to store and she just assumed that I would require a 10x10, which they were out of. So I paid the Madison Heights location a visit. That's when I met Joyce. I wish employees everywhere could be like her: outgoing, energetic, and comical. She makes you feel welcomed. Anyways, she was able to fit me into a 5x10 perfectly with space to spare. Remember the lady from the Coolidge/14 mile location didn't really try to detail a solution-she just assumed I'd need a 10x10. I told Joyce and she was perplexed as to why the other woman didn't even try. I'm not using PS anymore today but I was very satisfied with the customer service I got from Joyce, with a nice and professional young woman named Tessa who closed me out with no problems. We have been using this storage facility for almost 2 years. We GREATLY appreciate the staff for all their hard work and always having a positive attitude when we come in to pay our monthly bill. JOYCE is by far our favorite! She has the BEST personality and shows genuine concern and care for our property being stored here. She goes the extra mile to keep us informed on due dates and makes sure we are aware and understand any and all changes of fees or monthly pricing. We came in this passed weekend to pay our bill (it was minutes before closing time) --Sometimes in the public service industry employees have attitudes or get annoyed by customers showing up at the last minute-- Joyce IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE! She was so happy to see us and we carried on a great conversation as she was processing our payment. As we left, I turned to my fiance and honestly said, "too bad there aren't more people like Joyce in this world!" ---To whoever it may concern at this Public Storage location, THANK YOU for hiring such a great person and hard worker! We were customers for over 10 years. EVERY year, the cost of the storage went up $10 to $15. This year, they mailed out the notice of increase to start September 1st, but we did not get it until August 8th. NOT 30 days prior to increase as required by law. So we were not able to give them a 30 day notice of quit before the new increase as we are required to do. So we are legally bound to pay the ridiculous amount of increase. They chose to increased our MONTHLY bill by $60. This is totally wrong. The central phone will not accept any calls, they tell you NO AGENT is available and tell you to place inquiry online. Then they have a computer call you to tell you have no recourse, pay! DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE. THERE IS NO ONE WHO CAN HELP YOU WITH BILLING ISSUES!! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. read more

The Service was great that I received from Samantha and Andy. These individuals not only possess enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise in their job but they are quite willing to make sure you fully understand everything before your paper work is done. They really make you feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. They were also very patient about answering any questions I might have had . This facility is very clean, and even though my furniture was stored for over four years, there was hardly any dust on it when I finally came to get the stuff. The woman at the desk, Joyce, was very helpful and personable, and she took the time to talk to me and wish me a Happy Mother's Day. They sell a lot of packing and moving supplies, which were helpful. I would certainly use this facility again. read more
