The gentlemen at the desk were helpful and even though I had a reservation they took the time to show me different size units to make sure I had the right size and took the time to find me a discounted unit. The facility and units were very clean. If you have storage somewhere else give them a call, you won't regret it. If I need storage space in the future I'll definitely be back. read more

The people running this business need to learn how to treat customers and there approach. My mother has been a customer for years and over the last few months has had health issues. I have tried to keep up with her account but she has fallen a payment behind. they refuse to help in any way. They will not except anything otherthen two payments which I can not do. STAY AWAY FROM COMPASS SELF STORAGE. They would rather my mother lose her irreplaceable possessions and sell off her unit. please do not let this happen to you more then money will be lost it will be memories that are valued that money can't buy. read more

look into any location and you will see that the company practice is to constantly raise rates at every chance they get. their goal is not customer service or customer satisfaction. their goal is extraction of every cent they can from their customer (victims) pocket. if you have a need for storage, you are better off selling everything you can to avoid using them, youll be able to buy new everything by the time they are done with you read more

Good customer service. very easy to reserve a space long-distance, very easy to access my space and store all my possessions from Atlanta. The light bulb inside is burnt out, but I'll call them to replace it, and hopefully there will be no problems with that. When I signed the contract they told me I qualified for a military discount and that it would start the next month. When the next month came around they informed me that they do not have a military discount. After I got very angry with them, they said they would see if they could do something. When they called me back they said they can give me 10% off if my Id wasn't expired, I explained that it's expired because I'm a veteran, and then they told me that they don't give veterans a discount, just active duty. The man I dealt with, Darnell, was not unprofessional, he just didn't care very much that I was displeased with the service. read more

I'm totally new to the world of self-storage, and picked this place out of desperation. I am so glad that we did - the management is receptive and they offered specials that beat out all of the others I'd considered. I theorize that people who typically use self-storage are F R E A K S H O W circus-carny folk, based on the clientele I've witnessed skanking around this place (and others) and the fact that AUCTIONS are sometimes held on abandoned storage unit belongings (crazy!!!!), but I so far have had no qualms whatsoever about leaving our stuff there. The place is clean, well-protected with entry and exit gates that are keyed to your own code, and storage units are individually alarmed. read more

When it came to my overall experience with Compass Self Storage I was so relived to have found them last minute. I was planning on going to another storage facility, when I arrived to the place they didn't greet me and it smelled awful. I stepped outside for a moment while they were with the other customer who they were trying to sell 50 dollars of boxes to the gentleman. When I returned they had a sign on the door saying they wouldn't be back until after close. After no acknowledgement I left with only 13 before they closed. I had only so much time with the truck that I needed a place right away to unload my very full truck. Cynthia worked fast and efficiently giving the circumstance. She also gave me a time extension and a lock so I can continue to unload after they were closed. With all sorts of things not going as planned that day she took the best care and when it comes to the stresses of moving I would count on Compass Self Storage to be there again. The facility has elevators and carts to make the moving even easier. The only thing that I would say is make sure you go at a good time when there isnt alot of people using the carts. The front doors open wide which is another added plus, in addition to the lights and 24 hour cameras. Thanks Cynthia your the woman. read more

I was looking for a short term place to store my home goods. I walked into compass and was immediately greeted by Cynthia. She was really helpful & friendly. Compass's rates were comparable ( even cheaper) than public storage ( right down the road on John R), so i decided to book with them. My deal was 39$ per month for the first 3 and then i belive 86 ( or 89$) after that each month. ( still cheaper than public storage somehow) The space is nice.. they have 3 levels, hallway lights work by sensor and theres always some sort of classical background music. Compass can fit most trucks and flatbeds, but def not your biggest 85ft semi. So, id call in advance to ensure your truck will fit in their establishment. They give you a pin code to get in and out of the facility and can opt to have 24 hr access if you want. Like any regular storage place, they sell boxes, locks, etc. Also, they were nice enough to call me when i forgot to put a lock on my unit. Additionally, so i tried to get into my storage unit one night and my pincode wouldn't work ( despite being granted 24 hr access). I was very frustrated with their 1800 number and had to unfortunately go home that night with all of my stuff. Cynthia called me the next day, sorted it all out and compass even gave me a lock for free. Compass, in my opinion, did everything they could to make sure i was happy and had everything i needed. I whole heartedly recommend them. read more

This is a nice place. We have been storing here for about 6 years or so. It was affordable at first, but the price is getting ridiculous now. We need to find an alternative that is safe and clean and cheaper soon. If you don't mind the price, then this place is really good. I've only had 1 problem there, which was a run-in with a group of construction workers who store scaffolding there and were being jerks. One threatened to kick my you know what, but was apparently all talk. read more

The staff at this location is always very friendly and helpful. I was in twice before renting and the employee was happy to show me multiple sized units without hesitation. I shopped around for the best price and Compass was the best price I find. I've had friendly service over the phone when paying my bill. The facility is clean and there are always flat beds available. I would definitely recommend this company and this location to anyone interested! read more

Hey. They're pretty cool. My brother and I were moving out of Ann Arbor and we needed a place to store things, so we thought, "Hey, let's get a storage unit!" Of course, that meant my mom started doing a bunch of research and found us a storage unit and then was all like, "What do you think of this one, Steve?". The question was one of those rhetorical questions that only a mother can ask. I guess she just likes us to feel like we have an option. We went with it. Everyone says mom's pick the best storage units, right?!? Anyways, Cynthia complemented me on my Sonic the Hedgehog shirt. It says "THIS IS HOW I ROLL," with a few images of Sonic rolling. It's pretty cool. I like wearing it. She said someone who wears a shirt like that probably likes Slurpees. She was right. In my car there was a brother, and two Slurpees. While signing the paperwork I made a joke about storing a dead body there, which didn't get a laugh. I expect that was because she heard a similar joke a million times. Cynthia said that if I write a review, that I should say something about being upset that they wouldn't allow me to store my dog in the unit, because it would be funny. I didn't commit to that because I didn't want people to think that I would store my dog there. When the office work was done we walked over to the gate. Cynthia showed me how to enter my code to get in. Then we walked through the automatic doors and to the unit. It was a 10x10. I put a lock on it and called it a day. P.S. I came back the next day and filled it with a bunch of stuff. Like an entire 17 foot U-Haul truckload of stuff. They had some carts to help move our stuff. I need less stuff. read more

This company pulled a bait and switch on me. They advertised the storage unit I rented from them online for $66.00. This ad did not state that it was a limited time introductory offer. I visited the facility and Donnell Sanders escorted me to the unit that was available for the $66.00. During the tour of the facility I specifically asked Mr. Sanders if the $66.00 was an introductory offer. He stated that the $66.00 was the price. He did not say that it was a limited time introductory price. Mr. Sanders also denies that he ever told me that. He either doesn't remember or he was outright lying in order to get the new business. I had someone with me that day who also heard him tell me this and I know they have security cameras so if they play the tape back on that day you will clearly see that it was him that gave me the tour and I did have another person with me. They are now raising the price of the unit to almost double to $126.00. They should have been honest and up front at the time of the tour before I signed up and moved all my stuff from the unit I had to this one. As it turns out the unit I moved from is a better deal now then the one at Compass. If they would have been honest with me from the beginning I would never had moved from the company I was with. They were deceptive in their advertising as well as not being honest when asked about the true price during the facility tour. read more
