Unit is clean. But that is the only good thing I can say. Ap rarely works to open the gate. The person in the office has no knowledge of how it works and can't help. Took 3 weeks to get a lightbulb changed in my unit. Was charged for 6 months of insurance after cancelling on line. Never get response to emails. Required multiple phone calls to get an answer and will not refund insurance premium. Plus raised until rate 5 months into rental. read more

Because of Alexa and Jennifer at this storage location, I was saved from having a huge problem when my movers were coming to my newly-purchased storage box where I had just broken the key off in the lock. They worked hard to find me a replacement storage area, got me all set up on the computer, sold me a new lock, and never once asked how much of a big dumb ape I'd have to be to break the key off in the lock! Thank you to both of these wonderful ladies. I definitely will be using this site for all of my storage needs for as long as those two work there. read more

Property Mgr is nice & helpful, property is clean, well lit & safe (from my experience. I am not happy with the way corporate handles the payments ... they make a lot of mistakes and it takes a long time and a lot of phone calls to get the ledger fixed, even when there is an recurring automatic bill pay. Property does not have any power to help out so you are stuck in the abyss of a system and no one is knowledgeable on how to fix things. Because of this inadequacy ... you can get locked out of gate access. If there is something wrong with the ledger, they will lock out gate access and put a lien on the unit without even giving you a courtesy call to let you know that maybe something was missed, like a $4 rate increase in the current month that you were unaware of. I have never been late nor missed a payment and I believe that staying here any longer would be a bad idea. Left a message with the District Regional Mgr after having a very rude customer service rep refuse to help... we shall see if she responds. (A note on Customer service... good luck getting ahold of anyone... the phone number for CS puts you into an automated system unless you press the # for new reservations/availability, then ask for customer service.) I am sure this too will take a long time to fix even after paying the $4 rate change and many more phone calls for the 20$ late fee that I don't want to pay. It's the principle of it & not the $20. We needed a last minute storage unit and reserved online, expecting to wait a while for a call. The rental office employee, Carolyn, responded immediately and was able to get us the information we needed quickly. After our phone interaction, we went to the storage unit facility. The rental office was closing at five, but Carolyn was very helpful in getting us what we needed before she wrapped up for the day. Including a tour of the unit we'd be renting. This place sucks dont use! Naperville Illinois on My storage is ruined been fighting with them for months and with insurance they make you take out you pay but they dont want to reimburse you 10×10 unit they want to pay me 150.00 for stuff that is way more...And the district manager NO HELP told me I had 2000 that could help reimbursement and the insurance co said 250.00 for fungi and minus the deductable I get 150.00 that's crap. I asked the insurance co to send me a copy of papers that show me the break down they told me to go into another public storage to get it which is in other town. Crap! Crap crap! read more

After going to three Public Storage locations (online reservation, but the unit at the first location did not have a single large door and the second location had a unit that was not the actual 10x15 measurement and was in poor condition) we finally found one that had a unit that was the right size and a good price. I don't understand the PS pricing model--every location is different and has different incentives, which means a big hassle for the customer-- luckily, the staff at each location was really helpful. Juliet was great: she went through all the paperwork carefully, without rushing, and rented us a nice, clean unit. This is our third time with Public Storage, at three different locations (see what I mean about their crazy pricing policy?), so thanks to Juliet for giving us a happy ending to a very aggravating morning. read more

Dave the property manager took care of me. Showed me everything and answered all my questions. They gave me a good rate for the size I was looking for and they were a little cheaper than the competition. The place is not climate control so that's a downside if you need it. I wasn't in need of it so it worked out well for me. read more

I was pretty frazzled at having to arrange a move, on a week day, at the last minute. Jennifer was great about finding me a unit, getting me in to see it, and doing all the paperwork in an efficient way that really helped me feel relaxed and secure about my whole situation. She took the time to explain the benefits of renting here (e.g. routine lock checks, customer-unique gate codes, bright hall lights, etc.) as well as other things I hadn't thought of (a tarp on the floor and a sofa cover to protect from dust and dirt). The people working at this location are very helpful and friendly. Overall I am disappointed with the quality of the storage unit (the condensation is pretty significant and pools over my furniture in the storage unit). There is also 1 cart and 1 dolly on site, the additional cart I was told management "ordered" still hasn't showed up after 8 months. Keep in mind after 6 months of renting a storage space the rent increased 25% per month. read more

Edit: Terrible. Stay away. They'll raise prices on you with barely any notice. Shady. So far so good. Corporate foists a b.s. insurance policy on you last minute when you come in (I was not notified of it beforehand in any way, and it was not mentioned anywhere). I'm only using the unit for a few months, but if I needed it longer I would have walked away because that's sneaky and underhanded. I don't mind carrying the insurance, but I mind dishonest pricing (because you are not informed of this in any way beforehand and it adds to the monthly price of the unit). I won't lower my rating due to the above, because the sneakiness is a corporate issue, not a location-specific issue. If I find out otherwise however (I saw that another reviewer claims it can be waived and I was told it was mandatory, so I'm going to look into that), I may revise. 4-stars because it's only been a couple of days but so far everything is good. read more

I have been a customer of this location since 2011. I had 2 units. Moved out of one a couple months ago. I gave notice of move, calling before & after it was done. But was still charged for the following month. (I left 5 days before end of month so there should not be a charge.) Manager refused to resolve issue so I was forced to pay this or incur more late charges. read more

The rental agent tried to get me to buy insurance on the contents of my storage . I told her I did not need it. She said it was required.When I said then lets for get the whole thing and I will go elsewhere she said oh then just sign this form to decline it. SO.......its not required???? Is corporate policy to tell people its required? When its not!! If you have to rent there dont fall for that ruse. Also paid a few days late and the fee was $38 ..a little ridiculous on 200 rental. read more

The property manager- Juliet told us that we needed to buy their "Maximum security" lock in order to use the facility. When I informed her that I wanted to bring my own lock, she said I couldn't do it. She charged us $20 for the lock that typically costs $9. When I returned later wanting to return their lock and use mine that was identical and also "maximum security" she refused to refund the $20 and take their lock back. What a money making scam!!!! I am new to public storage. When I first rented my storage unit, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the facility. I have used one of their competitors in the past and was dissatisfied after finding my storage unit dirty upon moving in. The price here at public storage is reasonable when compared to others in the area. Also, the staff here at the Naperville location on Ogden Ave has been great, especially Juliet who was extremely helpful and courteous on both of my visits. read more
