It's all too much. I have rented here before but this was by far an easy experience. I reserved online and was surprised I did not have to go to the office to get moved in. I got a good price for the type of unit I wanted but was not communicated the space number. I figured I would go to the office and deal with someone the next day but would lock in the online price. I was surprised to get a text early on my move in date with my gate code and access codes. In a separate email I got the unit number and instructions on how to open the rolling door in case this was your first storage excursion. I was charged online for the first month rent and for a lock. You are automatically comp'd 30 days in insurance. My skeptical nature had low expectations but after using the access code to get into my building I found the lock and keys waiting inside the unit. Ready to go even before the office opened. Wow! This has changed my impression of the hassle I had on my previous experience. A couple things to keep in mind. Unless you go in with proof of insurance they will keep charging you 9.99 a month for Orange door insurance. They raise rents and move you up to a more expensive unit charge on a regular basis so this is best for a short term storage solution. read more

They have now raised our rates twice in less than a year by more than 50%. Now we get notice that we will have to move out by the end of the month for "improvements". They post all of these rules and then don't enforce them (no junk cars, one vehicle per space). Neighboring spaces park on or over the line. Space markers are plastic chain that gets moved or broken away. When informed the office does nothing to correct them problem making it very difficult and time consuming to try and park our trailer. The office is vacant more than half of the time. There are better storage places. Don't store here! read more

My experience with Public Storage (Deer field location) Orlando, FL. to date has been by far the easiest part of moving for me. Amary (mgr) has gone up and beyond to accommodate me. I rented a 5'8 ft climate-controlled unit for a 1500 sq ft home. I probably should have gone up a size (my next call to Amary) the unit was and the housing was very clean. Which I was very happy about. The only not-so-great moment was there was a smell of garbage BUT after my husband and I mentioned it shortly thereafter it was no longer present. I don't know what it was but Amary was prompt in taking care of it permanently!!! In summary, I'd say. She verified there was a unit available in the size I needed, and quoted me a good price and informed me I could complete paper work over the phone. Moving from the southern part of the state here was easier than dealing with multiple people with multiple answers to questions. Sarah, the property manager, was unprofessional. Her staff made a mistake with my paperwork and because I did not have time to come sign the new paperwork, Sarah removed my access from the gate. I did not have access again until I came to resign new paperwork at her convenience. Use Hunter Creek location instead or another storage unit, several in Hunter's Creek. read more

Jennifer is the best. She is so sweet and caring. every time I come to my unit, I see her cleaning or caring for people. She is always polite and helpful. She is an asset to your company. Now a negative reviews is the prices. They should not raise prices every six months. That is not fair and should be regulated. I was in the process of moving to Orlando and I went to view the storage facility and picked the type of unit I wanted. I then reserved it online a few weeks later. Things changed and I wasn't in town when my moving company arrived and they would not let me move in without "being there". I told them that I had been there already, I would give them my credit card number and even scan them my driver's license and passport to show who I was. They refused everything and would not help me out. I ended up renting a storage facility from Uhaul. Public Storage has lost a customer for life. read more

Whatever you do, don't do business with this company. The local "property managers" really don't care about the customer, unless of course you are a new customer and renting a space. Once you are an "existing" customer they can't be bothered to do anything for you. I have encountered rudeness, arrogance, and just plain "I don't care" attitudes. They charge outrageous prices and raise the rent every year no matter how poor the service has been. My latest challenge with these people was an e-mail message telling me that my lock is missing. I haven't visited my unit in a very long time and now all of the sudden my lock is missing. I asked where it was and what happened to it and I still haven't gotten an answer. Every time I have to contact the local management, I end up having to contact the corporate offices and even then every contact ends up being a battle. Please do yourself a favor that you will never regret and choose another company if you need storage space. read more

Where can I begin... I rented a climate control unit and put my stuff in the unit for 3 months since I was getting a house built. This past Saturday at 6 pm I go to Public Storage to get my stuff out. As I pull up to the access door where all the climate control units are inside I noticed that the door is busted open. I thought that was strange, I proceeded to my unit and when I opened the door what I saw was that my entire unit was ransacked. The thieves cut the cheap wire which was the ceiling of the unit and got inside. They stole a large amount of my personal items. I called the police. They arrived and informed me that they arrested someone burglarizing someone else's unit that morning. I called the Manager for the location and she informs me that the access gate has been broken for over 1 week. I couldn't believe what I heard. That is negligence. Anyone could just hope the main gate and walk into the units. I'm personally looking forward to taking Public Storage to court. They were in a class action lawsuit this year for their insurance practices. Overall horrible company. read more
