I cannot recommend Public Storage due to the companies' refusal to follow its own contract. I must note that my interactions with the staff at this location have been excellent and I don't believe my experience is a reflection on their work. However, this company is screwed up. I've had A200, a 10x15 unit for over a year storing sensitive equipment and costumes. The unit directly above began dripping some green slime into my unit, all over costumes and equipment. Staff was notified and the tenant responsible was on site, carrying a large tub of green fluid. Tenant claimed the green sludge dripping through the floor of her unit was not hers, much to the surprise of two staff persons present. Note that the contract demands that NO LIQUIDS be stored in the unit. Local management has said the offending tenant will not return calls. And yet, no effort has been made to evict her. It was suggested, instead, that I move all my things to a new unit, without any mention of the labor this entails, the time, or expense. Flash forward a month later: I'm moving out. There's still green slime dripping from the ceiling into my unit. Public Storage offered a $20 credit when I asked them to cover $150 of dry cleaning. The sludge remains on the floor of my unit, preventing me from using a 4x4' area, and presenting a slipping hazard. I've been instructed to call "We Care" which is the help desk for Public Storage, and submitted my request: A 1/2 month refund to cover damages and our inability to use the unit. We're moving out. My request was declined, and despite assurances, I was not contact by any Public Storage person. We Care Indeed. ~~ Further: months before our rent was raised $150. This was above even the market rate for the currently available units of the same size at this facility. When I complained about this, no concessions were offered, except that I could move out, and then move back in to the lower priced, identical unit. This business is screwed up and local employees and manager apparently have no real authority to address customer complaints, even when they have agreed with me that the situation is ridiculous. AVOID Public Storage. There are many competitors in town: CubeSmart, ExtraSpace, A1, uHaul, etc., with better hours, easier access, and better policies protecting tenants. So sad! I have been with this storage company for 5 years and even though they continued to raise the rent over 78% (I do understand the times but still) this is the first time I've had roaches in my unit... And I don't just mean one or two but hundreds. I stored baby clothes in there to save for our second child. I did everything I could from spraying the bags down, leaving them far away from our house for days in the heat (thinking this would kill any) to throwing the clothes right in the laundry machine and my house is still infested. I do understand that things happen but when I called the property manager it took them 3 weeks to respond and all they said they would do is spray my unit and that's about it. Barely showed any remorse. Please don't give this company business as they obviously just don't care. So here I am two weeks away from my due date and dealing with roaches the first time in my life. We had a house fire and decided to rent a very small unit for whatever we could save. This storage was only a mile from my burnt home I called on the phone to get information. The operator said she could just take payment over the phone for $1 & lock. I was charged an EXTRA $29 administration fee. That I was told NOTHING about. Obviously to me now that's why they were pushing the payment over the phone. once I talk to my insurance agent, they said they handle all the storage. Terrible. Absolute awful. We rent here only because we still have to. We had a unit being rented out for $190 and that was fine, but then with less than a month warning 5 months later they raised it to $260. 70 dollar increase for nothing. The parking lot is small but why you d expect for the location and the dollys are never around when you need them. Only plus side is that our unit is directly next for eh elevator so it's a short walk. But too expensive and terrible service. read more

My main reasoning as to why I chose that one was simply because I was able to walk there because I lived really close. Over the years as inflation occurs the prices have gone up but the property still looks the same. It always reads some urine my unit has been broken into twice completely disheveled inside and they don't care. And they keep raising the price for a 5x5 unit they actually want to charge people $324. You have got to be kidding me I will be moving out this month. The homeless situation is is worse and they are the ones breaking into people's units. The property manager doesn't care and neither does public storage as long as they get money. If I could give 0 stars I would. For two years I had stored my treasured items here. It was purely logistics. I was homeless and didn't have a car. Having to walk through the stench just added more stress. Finally they got rid of the village hanging around there. The staff was condescending, the district manager was a liar and didn't honor his word adding to the outrageous late fees. I had passed out once and instead of calling 911 they told my friends who were in the car waiting for me that they needed to get me out of there. The clientele there were either the young folks moving into the downtown area or the homeless. The staff of course treated the non homeless with respect and were friendly to them. Everytime I went in my storage I would see rat droppings or a dead rat, and roaches. Yes I was totally grossed out but I no options. I finally be received my housing and started clearing out my storage unit. I had the smallest unit. All these years paying my storage. I would have been better off letting it go. I thought I packed up everything good. The rats ate through the duffle bags boxes and some of the luggages. The only things untouched we're the things in storage bins. Very disheartening. Don't use this storage unless you have a good solid way to pack them. Find another storage unit because the staff here sucks. Especially Emily. Drugs and syringes are found on the property. AsIi stated earlier there are homeless people are everywhere. They are people too and entitled to their units if they are paying but prepare to see these customers without full clothing and be just plain rude to you. Last month my rent jumped 15$ without any notice, i am military and was deployed out the country for a month apparently they mailed a notice (never received). Called and spoke to them to see if i could get a break or PARTIAL refund. So then I was referred to the district manager MR.BERG had a convo with him he said he could not adjust only 1800 customer service could. Then 1800 customer service said no they could not it could only be him, no body in this company is on the same page it seems. While on the phone w MR.BERG, I explained I didn't think this facility was worth it especially after price increase. He then explained that this facility was actually safer because homeless population is so great..... I also brought up how the elevators and gate don't even work 100% of the time, like what are you using the money for this facility? His answer was safety because of area. I have used other Public Storage locations and this is by far the worst. I moved out the following weekend and it smelled HORRIBLE another customer was nice enough to inform me of the mice problem, sure enough DEAD MICE IN MY UNIT AND HALLWAY! Long story short, my income was interrupted by COVID 19. I contacted my local facility and Public Storage corporate headquarters trying to arrange a deferment and make payment arrangements on the money I owed, until my unemployment came through . The ONLY replies I got back were "pay us or we'll sell the contents of your unit." True to their word, they placed my storage unit in lien. Fortunately, my unemployment came through in time. I paid my fees and got my stuff out of there and into another storage facility.
