The manager Jessica is amazing asset to an already great business. Jessica has greatly improved grounds surrounding this storage place. Shitty Service. I called ahead to reserve a storage. They we're nice on the phone. Then when I came on Sunday to finalize everything around 12:10 pm, the guy was dismissive and said come back in ten i'm on lunch. On Sunday they close at 4:30. I came back at 3:45 with my moving company to store some stuff, and waited 30 minutes because there was a be back sign on the door. I ended up choosing Public Storage because no one was there. We had rented a storage unit here for a little over 4 years as it was conveniently located to where we lived downtown. We disliked going there as it was hard to find parking and there were many homeless people that frequented the storage facility. As we only needed to go a few times a year, we put up with it. However, when we went before the holidays to get our Christmas items, we discovered that the majority of our items in our unit had been stolen. There was no sign of a break in and our lock was intact. Management was not around to report it to, but when I called to report it the next day, they did not seem that concerned, did not ask many questions or take a report and would not tell me if other units on our floor had also been broken into. It almost seemed like it could have been an inside job, since we couldn't find any signs that someone had broken in. All in all we lost over $5,000 of items. We took the few remaining items we had left and canceled our rental. If you do decide to rent here, be careful. read more

I just stopped by to drop off a few items to the storage unit we rent. They took my I.D to use a cart. I came down less then ten minutes later and the office is closed. There's a sign saying they'd be back at 10:34. Not only did they not say they would be leaving they didn't come back till 10:53. Why take someone's I.d and then disappear. I had to be at work at 10:30, I had to wait more than 30 minutes to get my I.d back. How extremely disrespectful of my time, when I said they should've told me they were leaving when they took my stuff the guy said "welp sorry, we were having a meeting" I hope it was about customer service. I am vacating my unit at the end of the month based on many reasons regarding fees, but am happy I had already given my notice as I found out last week that my unit was broken into by an ex employee. The District Manager has yet to call me and address the issue. It's been horrible service since day one - and not having access outside of business hours is just unreasonable. New ownership took over during my "lease" and I was not notified - just shocked of new changes. All in all, there are many places for storage in San Diego and this is not an ideal option. read more

This is both a public storage facility and also a homeless shelter. Drug use and boldly fluids are common along the sidewalks. Great for the neighbirhood. September 1019 update!! I see management has been responding to comments for months that they are addressing the homeless issue. They are not. There's a bicycle chop shop at their property right as I type this. 5 stars in my book. We have been using this storage facility for years now. If you live in the area it is so convenient. We even walk here to retrieve our stuff sometimes. Parking is never an issue, we can usually drive right into a stall, however if the stalls are full there is meter parking in front of the building. They have 4/5 heavy duty carts to help with your loading and unloading.,The staff is helpful and friendly. The faculty is kept quite clean. read more

There needs to be law pass preventing businesses like this one paying people for reviews like the ones you see on their website and on yelp, while they take advantages on current customers who are still having to pay their ridiculous prices. After the first months moving in there don't get to comfortable even if it's free or a low cost, then there will be a major price hike soon after that, it will continue and continue every new bill cycle. You will experience a new price point I am sure, I am sure of it that's what I experienced while I had my stuff there, to me it's their ego and American greed wanting to take advantage of their customers who are depending on them to do the right thing, but you will eventually find out they don't. I highly wouldn't not waste my money or time doing business with Ballpark Storage ever again and I highly wouldn't recommend this storage unit to anyone at all. read more

Ballpark Self Storage is only interested in finding ways to rip you off. Don't rent a space or a U-haul. I rented a U-haul from them and while returning the vehicle I waited for the woman working there to get off the phone followed by a long check-in of the truck, which made me late returning the truck so she charged me for a second days rental. To top it off, there was no one renting the truck for hours. I walked out and will dispute any over charges with my credit card company. Also, the storage prices at Ballpark Self Storage are at least double what you can find elsewhere. The savings you will find within a 10 or 15 minute drive easily justify going elsewhere. I rented two spaces in miramar for $65 per month. At ballpark the would have cost $160. The employees just laugh and say it is cheaper everywhere else. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

Was super easy to get a space. I walked in and toured a few options and they were able to book it right there, and had everything I needed for my move. The storage units are clean and secure. Only note is that the usable size was considerably smaller than listed in some of the units I looked at so if you have something of a certain size like I did, you'll need to double check. read more
