When I first moved into a unit here, the place was brand new and operated efficiently and I enjoyed using it. However, in the past year this place has been run to the ground. The employees are RUDE. I don't even bother going to the office for anything. Jim is the only person I've spoken to here who is kind and helpful. He went out of hid way to find me a good and affordable locksmith when I lost my key, and has always been lovely. Everyone else is...yikes. They don't even have carts for transporting items. I have a mild disability, and when I asked one of the staff about carts, they were extremely rude to me and said "Well, just carry your stuff then." Wtf Apparently the carts were stolen months ago but they never replaced them. Just stuck up a note. Its been three months. ‍ Parking here is a nightmare. There's never enough spots. The place used to be clean but lately I've noticed strong foul odors and COCKROACHES. I saw quite a few of them in the hallways and have since found bugs in my storage unit. I'm paying way too much to have to deal with that. I'm happy I'm moving out. This place is a mess, and a constant source of frustration. It's also super popular with ASU students so it becomes an absolute nightmare twice a year. Find a different location because this one is not it. read more

I didn't have any issues with my unit, however, beware when renting here because once you move out, they will still charge you for the overpriced unit. I moved out of my unit 5 days before my renewal and confirmed multiple times with the employees in the office that i would not get charged.... well, of course to my surprise, i was charged $200+ on, what would have been, my renewal date. this was AFTER i had already received my move-out receipt... The rep, Joselyn, was very sweet and helpful when i contacted customer service for a refund but it's a huge inconvenience because they can only process a refund via check through snail mail... This place is very clean and this was the only issue that i had but it was big enough of an issue for me to never bring my business here again. read more

This storage unit is always very clean when I come in. There was a miscommunication with the start date when I signed up and they quickly resolved the issue and credited my account for the mistake. When I called to ask about the use of carts they were super helpful and made sure a cart would be made available to me when I arrived. This location has been super professional, friendly and helpful when concerns have arisen. Def would recommend storing your things here! read more

Let me start with the positive. My wife and I's storage unit is great. The office staff is always friendly, and the place is well protected and ventilated. Here's the problem, though: Public Storage is a national chain not afraid to price-gouge its clients. We got a great deal on our unit 5 months ago, paying $120/month. However, in early July, we received a notice that our rent would now be $162/month starting August 1st, or a whopping 40% more than the previous month. I would have understood a 2-5% increase every 6-12 months, but an increase of 40% after only being customers for five months is simply outrageous. I called our local office, and their hands were completely tied. They sent us to corporate, which flat out refused our request to negotiate and didn't even have the courtesy to talk to us, sending us an automatic robot call denial message instead. How am I supposed to trust Public Storage not to continue increasing our rent at this rate? If they do, I'll end up paying more than my car payment. read more

We all make mistakes. It was what we do after that demonstrates our compassion or desire to "make it right." Public Storage cost me money due a grave error on their part and they have yet to correct it or reply to my numerous calls or emails to rectify the error. On June 6/12, I paid for a locker. When my movers and I got to the storage the morning of 6/13, I could not access the locker because the Public Storage worker left their locker in the unit!!!! My movers and I waited for over 40 minutes for someone to come take the lock off. This cost me additional money for the movers. I spoke with Tony Smoot, Regional Manager, several times (from my initiation because he never called to rectify or reimburse me for their mistake). To date, nothing has happened and I am out of an additional $135.00 for their mistake. I sent an email on 6/15. No response. I called Tony on 6/15 and he replied that he would update me by 6/17. I have not heard from him. I lost out greatly. It cost and $135.00 on moving date due to their mistake and the customer service has been unacceptable. As of today 6/19/2020, no follow up or rectification of this grave error; but they will collect their monies monthly I am sure. I am a fair person, I will keep you updated if they ever call or respond to my many calls (4) and emails (2). I've used PS many times and this guy really screwed me. Booked a rental online, filled out every piece of information I could find and he emails me a week later saying I needed to call to confirm. First off, the guy never answers the phone. You have to leave a message and he calls you back several hours later. He calls me back and he says i need to pay up front, even though everything I received said I could pay on move in day. I call again, 30 seconds after his phone call, message.... he sends me another email. the same one. I call again, and again. He finally calls me back and says there's no more units and because of some "bug" on the site, he can't send me the link to pay and has to cancel. FUCK THIS GUY. There's another right up the street. I would absolutely never rent from this place again. I only stayed because I was too lazy to move out UNTIL they raised my rent by $30 without telling me. It may have been in my contract when I moved in, so maybe that's my bad.. but I definitely feel like I should have been reminded. So that was an unpleasant surprise but what was even WORSE was that after paying the increased rent for one month and moving my stuff out during business hours, with at least a week remaining in the month and CONFIRMING with the front desk that I had, indeed, moved out, I was STILL charged after vacating. In my mind I thought it would be resolved easily, so I called while the charge was still pending in my bank account and they did acknowledge that they made a mistake but I was told that they could not refund the charge and that they had to file a claim.. I was told I would get a call back with information but never did, so I took it upon myself to call the customer support line days later and only then was I told that I will be getting a paper check and to expect it in around 8 weeks.. like, are you kidding me? I have to wait 2 months because you made a mistake? Awful!!! I needed that money and now, due to no mistake of my own, I don't have access to it. Other things to know about this place that I've noticed: -It has smelled STRONGLY of human(?) feces several times. -MY neighboring unit definitely had people living in it. -There is rat repellent around and once I found some randomly slid under the door of my unit. read more

My girlfriend and I needed a storage space for a good amount of stuff we cannot take to our new smaller apartment. Upon entering Public Storage at 935 E Curry Rd, Tempe, we met Courtney. She was most helpful and incredibly nice in discussing different options of rental unit sizes. She provided some insight to using their web page and we were able to secure a 8x10 unit for a really good price. Air conditioned and secured (you get a code to enter the building and to access your floor). Definitely happy to have found this place and would recommend to anyone looking for storage in the North Tempe, South Scottsdale area! read more

Beware, this company will lie to you and over charge you. They will tell you they are removing a fee, then don't and tell you they will apply a credit after you pay, then they will tell you it's denied. Even though it was approved in the first place. Absolutely appalling. read more

Office staff was great! Friendly and stayed engaged with phone calls to ensure I was still able to check in on my reservation date. The facility was clean and had carts available. Happy with the climate control- didn't want my belongings to cool in this Arizona heat. Would definitely recommend! read more

Patty signed me up on February 12, told me policy is 30 days to remove the items, or get charged. SO we counted out the days multiple times, she seemed uncertain. That forecasted me to be out 3/12 by 9pm, to have no further charges. Fast-forward to today, now I have a late fee/$199 charge. Today I called to find out why they're doing this. I was told it's actually 28 days because it's Feb, so now they consider me into the next month, I was told wrong date, to pay for 1 month. They don't know their policies or did this on purpose. Also Patty said this lock sticks for the unit by the door, seemed fine when she tried the door/lock. I said can I try it, I really dont want to walk to other side with heavy stuff. Sure enough, the door and lock were fine. Patty made everything complicated, wasted my time, now I have to deal with multiple people to resolve this. Patty gave me wrong info, took forever at checkout, they have cameras, hopefully they have audio and can hear her telling me and my mom multiple times 3/12 by end of business because on 3/13 that is 30 days. If it was 28 thats not was I was told. Furthermore the lady I spoke to before I got the got a callback (after they spoke to their trainer) informing me about 28 day policy for Feb.... initially said it is 30 days as well. You didn't follow up nor ask the questions I asked you to ask your manager. I called prior to the first of October and said I wanted an update and you couldn't answer a single question. I told you I wanted to cancel the storage unit since we didn't use it at all or check in to get access. I canceled on the 24th of September over the phone and you didn't do your job once more. I got the storage on the 3rd floor because I was specifically told on the phone and website that there would be dollies and carts for the customers. There wasn't any and it was hell moving because the elevators and entrance doors close so quickly... My back is in pain .... read more
