I rented a unit online but when I showed up to move in there was no staff on site and the unit I'd reserved had a deadbolt on it. I tried to reach the staff because I arrived within their posted business hours and I received no return phone call. I realized that the unit across from the unit number I was given was unlocked, the same size I'd reserved and had a brand new lock inside it. I had purchased a lock from Public Storage when I set up the rental and this unit had the same digits as the unit I was assigned with the last two transposed. All signs pointed to a data entry error on the part of Public Storage and because I was unable to reach the staff and I had to move in that night, I moved into the vacant unlocked unit. A few days later someone called from Public Storage. They acknowledged their mistake but told me I'd need to either come back and move into the other unit or pay more as they couldn't honor the online price on my contract. I told them that wasn't an acceptable solution when this was their mistake and I heard nothing further so I assumed they straightened out the error on their end. Four months later I received a phone call from someone who was filling in on site and wanted to resolve the issue. After I explained the situation and she spoke with the district manager, they're still demanding that I either move or pay more. All of this could have been easily dealt with on move in day if their staff had been on site during business hours. I am so frustrated with the customer service I've received from this company. I would recommend that anyone looking to do business with Public Storage actually speak to someone first and make sure they're actually on site to resolve any issues that could arrise. read more

Shannon was so helpful and patient with me. She helped me with the app that i could not fix do to password issues. It is my second in person with her and another time on the phone. I always get friendly service by the manager who lives here. She is attentive, accommodating, and always smiles. I only have a 5 x 5 unit, but she treats me as if I had 3 garage size units. Never in my life have i experienced such horrible customer service! I pay over $300/MO for a unit, I initially started at $180/Mo a few years ago! This location NEVER, EVER answers th phone! Never return messages! And God forbid you need someone in the office!!!! Even if there's A car indicating someone is there, the door is locked and no one is home!!!!!!! At night , there's NO Exterior lights, ANYWHERE onsite!!!? I can see they have them on the property, but they are never on. The property is so dark, and obviously feels like a security failure. The few times I've had to go in the evening, I had to use my car lights just to be able to have lights to access my storage. We have called the corporate office on several occasions to let them know of the issues, but no changes ever been made. I don't know how this site is even still in business? read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, filthy facility, water damaged units, insufficient lighting at night, laxed security procedures by staff, pest issues, and poor air conditioning! No trash cans within the facility - only the dumpster in back - litter everywhere throughout the building and grounds. Manager lives onsite but refuses to assist after hours if there is an emergency or issue such as the gates not operating during posted hours. 300+ google reviews vs 20 Yelp reviews for this dumpy storage facility in a rundown part of Tempe? Brandi should consider spending her days helping customers instead of posting false Google reviews. Area and Regional managers did nothing to settle discrepancies or complaints. They definitely had rats and I found some rat poop on the walls and floor of my unit when I moved out. Also... I'm 95% sure this place is haunted. No joke. Weird noises. Everyone I talk to that's been in there says they've seen things and my dad, who doesn't believe in ghosts saw a black figure in the corner when we were moving out. Just saying. read more

I actually didn't store anything here, but I still got probably the best service that I've gotten from a storage facility anywhere. When I left the San Francisco Bay Area, I closed by account with the PS there, but I still had $3 left on my account outstanding. Knowing that I could take care of it at any PS around the country, I went here to get everything finalized and finished. The proprietor, unfortunately, struggled with the computer system, calling my old PS facility, calling the very unhelpful PS national phone service--he just couldn't get my name to come up in the records. Nobody seemed able to help him either. He was remarkably patient and methodical, and really worked persistently to help me finally close my account. After about 20 minutes, he was able to get the information he needed to get my name to come up on the computer screen. My account was closed at last, I paid my couple of bucks, and I left knowing that they man I just worked with was a hell of a hard and dedicated worker. In the future, if I ever need the help of a storage facility in the Valley, I hope this guy is still working at this location then. I would definitely trust him to take care of my property. read more

Horrible customer service. The blonde girl who usually woks is very rude. Not only did they put an additional lock on my unit due to their error, she also points out how they will not credit me much since it was one day! That's not the point. I had items that were large that needed to be put in on the day I went and should have had access!! Point blank. I'm paid and never late so there was no need for this. Then she proceeded to say I was getting aggressive cause I was telling her how big of an inconvenience this was. She was rude and snippy and needs an attitude adjustment to customers. WARNING! I am absolutely livid writing this review right now. Please do NOT chose this place to store your valuables! I've been renting here way too long but only because I had no choice. A few months into my rental, my unit was broken into. Some of my most expensive valuables were taken. I was in tears as I let Brandi at the front desk know. She studdered and said that a customer days prior was being weird and had mentioned a cheap lock on my unit. Well that sounds like a red flag and if she had any common sense she would have looked into it. She gave me a pen and piece of paper and told to look through my stuff and write down what was taken then proceeded to tell me that there was nothing they could do. I got a legal rep and and got the cops involved and they could not get ahold of the manager. When they did get ahold of him he beat around the bush and said they didn't have cameras and then said they did have cameras. Couldn't make up his mind I guess. He said that they reviewed videos and did not see anything (mind you, it was 60" tv that was stolen) no way you can miss that on camera. Anyways, he later changed his story and said they let an "authorized" person into my unit. I had never given anyone permission to enter! Anyways fast forward a couple months. I went to get the rest of my stuff to move in and more stuff was missing. Lol If you're ever late on payments, Public Storage removes your lock and puts there's on. My payments was late and so they had access to my unit. So you do the math. Please stay away from this place. read more

Be very careful with this company for your storage needs. They can raise your rent on your unit without notice. The agreement you think your getting is only valid until they feeling like increasing your rent. Usually this happens after a year in my experience. Others have stated sooner. They of course fail to mention this when you sign the paper work. Looking for another storage company asap. Beware with Public Storage. read more

I had an appointment with Sandie and had to phone ahead to tell here I was going to be arriving early. That was not a problem. On my arrival, she was on the phone, but as soon as she was able to end her call, she greeted me with lots of enthusiasm and friendliness. She was extremely helpful, walking me through the entire process and procedures to enter and exit and showed me the unit. I was very pleased with the appearance of the property and the security provided. I feel my things will be very safe there. read more

The first contact was great. Online reservation was easy and painless. I got a call from the on-site staff immediately to arrange the lease, etc. Joe initially appeared professional and helpful. However... when I examined my unit, I was handed a padlock with two keys for $19.99. That was fine except I needed 4 keys. Joe told me I could get copies made at a locksmith. Wrong. Neither one of the locksmiths I went to could make them because the padlock was cheap non-brand and no blank was available. Joe refused to let me return the lock I couldn't use even though I received it without the original packaging, instruction, warranty, etc. Last, they tried to get me to buy the renter insurance on the spot, saying it is required by the lease I signed, even though I haven't moved in yet, and he said my homeowner insurance most likely does not cover storage units. I was able to get my insurance agent on the phone immediately to confirm that I have insurance coverage already. Although these costs are small amounts, I do not appreciate the way they try to get money from consumers. read more
