Parking was slightly tight with several elderly transport buses with slow moving customers walking into the supermarket. The store was very clean and the shelves were stocked and fronted. The bakery was my destination today for a six pack of fresh glazed donuts for $4.49. Next agenda was cashing in my Florida Lotto tickets at the customer service counter for a free ticket and a fifteen dollar cash prize. Nice store found everything I was looking for except these round pastries with guava lime fillings . Parking lot is a bit hectic with cars piling in . If you are not careful you can get run over or run someone over because people just walk behind a car trying to get out . Clean store organized everybody friendly . read more

Just left Publix to get a spicy falafel wrap from there for the first time and...I have so many questions. So, I asked Latoya (the one serving me) if I will choose the spicy falafel - they at least had them, unlike the other Publixes I go to. She puts 6 in there and places them in the heater for 30 seconds. She asked me which bread; I forgot I never said the word "wrap". She said "wrap?" and I said "Yes". She with 22 seconds left on the heater, she takes them out, takes 3 out - she there 1 in the trash and places the other 2 back in the container that the cold falafels were in. Even though those 2 falafels were warmed for 8 seconds, putting 2 8-second warm falafels in a container of cold falafels is a MASSIVE HEALTH VIOLATION. On top of what, why was 1 falafel thrown out? That falafel did nothing wrong. I noticed and didn't say anything in person and didn't want to make a scene or anything since I was semi-rushing for a bus, so I just ordered what I want it, didn't get any tzatziki in mine sadly since it was supposed to be in it, and left. read more

Besides my previous review below - Is there a reason why almost every time I go to the deli it takes at least a minimum of 30 min. To get service no matter what day or time, or how many people are there? Today I went at around 4pm, and there was 1 guy who was slicing meat, but not for anyone there. A man walked up and I walked up after. As we waited & still not served, 3 more people walked up. While 5 of us stood there, No other employees came out. The man making sandwiches said someone would be with us shortly. So we kept waiting. Finally I left because it was taking entirely too long! The one man kept slicing & no one came over to help him! There should always be at least 2 people there! Looks like it should be better scheduled or managed. Previous review- I visit this Publix regularly as its more local to where I live. Sunday night I went to do some shopping and was in the produce department. I noticed a gentleman restocking the vegetables in the cooler. A woman coworker came by and started talking to him while he was working and while she was talking to him she sat on the edge of the cooler with basically her bottom facing right into the vegetables! I was somewhat shocked, especially with customers around who could see that! Kinda gross! Then eventually they both went to the back room to talk further. 3 star not because they have good sale and the cashiers are so far nice It's mainly because the meat section that they are suppose to do custom cuts once requested, an employee said she would never cut the meat another one ignored us, but God bless the young manager who decided to cut the meat for us, but only to tell us "on normal circumstances they don't cut meat" so I was a bit confused I had to read the sign that above the window again. Publix if your able to get real butchers or butchers in training please do or remove the custom cut sign so we know to go else where. read more

Out of the sea of Publix stores and more Publix stores, this location would be in my top three that I visit frequently. Regardless of which Publix you go to, it's always going to be chaotic and busy. The parking lot is decent, I like the angled parking spots for easy in and out, it also lowers the scratches and dents from careless a-holes slamming their car doors open and hitting your vehicle. Back to the review, we always go there for their bakery, it's not the biggest and it doesn't have the best selection but they always have black and white cookies, tres leches, and strawberry shortcake. MY FAVORITES. One time, they rung up our slice of cake incorrectly since there was a sign stating it was on sale, the cashier said to go to the customer service desk. The customer service line was long! But they did give us our money back. Other than that, it seems like a standard Publix, nothing stands out. read more

This location is average as far as Publix goes. They have a good selection and rarely are out of stock of any items. It is also ideally situated, being about a block west of University and Sunrise and there is always plenty of parking. The staff is helpful, but extremely busy over lunch hour. I recommend shopping before 11:30 am or after 1pm, especially during the weekdays as I think many people make a pit stop here for lunch. read more

It's extremely aggravating that it takes twenty- thirty minutes to get something that should have been ready when I walked in. Otherwise this store is average. Nothing special to offer. My husband and I have been customers of this Publix for many years, even when they were located at the other side of this plaza. The store is clean and well stocked. Most of the employees are very helpful. Many times the wait time is long at the deli. What made me come here to write a review is the service at the pharmacy. Our health insurance this year started a new system to obtain the over the counter products that are part of our benefits. Publix is one of the providers listed to use. In January my husband went there to get some items and when he provided the card from the health insurance that has to be scanned, he was informed that it didn't go through. When he came home, I called the insurance, Preferred Care Partners, and they confirmed that Publix is a participant. So yesterday at the pharmacy after waiting there being ignored, with no other customers before him, he again attempted to buy just one item. When he handed the man the card, without him doing anything with it, he stated that they do not take it. Only because my husband was adamant, a woman employee came over, scanned the card and it worked without any problem. read more

I go to this one when I'm on Sunrise Blvd. or in the plaza for something else (they have a big Dollar Tree) but I digress. This store has an odd layout that I'm not accustomed to so I don't like to do my "full" grocery shopping here. However, I'll pick up a few quick items, if needed. The pharmacy is a rip-off. This is the third time they miscounted my pills. I feel that this is done on purpose for higher profits. The other pharmacies in the area have never made a miscount on my medication. Anyone using the pharmacy at Jacaranda Plaza count your pills before you leave. This is a nice size plublix, better than the last experience I had in the Publix by my house. There are a lot of elderly people here too but what do you expect from the Sunrise community. My experience was terrible will never shop here again! Unbelievable. The customer service is horribly placed in the front of the store, which causes customers waiting in line to be battered by those who are trying to exit the store. I shop at this Publix often, as it is the closest one to where I live; I've been going there for years. As far as selection and prices, everything is completely standard. The store is clean enough, and for the most part, the employees are friendly and helpful. My issue with this store is with the quantity of staff on hand, which is either a corporate, or managerial issue. Perhaps both. The Deli is always understaffed. ALWAYS. I often see it on the faces of the deli workers - the face of someone who is overwhelmed with too many customers, and not enough helpers on hand - sometimes, they either don't actually have enough people on the clock, or there are deli clerks who are preoccupied with other tasks. Either way, there is what seems to be a constant lack of workers at any given time; I shop there at different times on different days, and it's always like that. Being a patient person, I'm not too put off by it, but it is certainly an issue. The check out areas are almost as bad. I'd say that during approximately 70% of my visits, there are not enough cashiers on staff. I personally prefer to bag my own groceries, so it's inconsequential to me that there aren't enough baggers, but there often aren't. Ultimately, this Publix provides what you'd expect from any Publix, as far as stock variety and cleanliness, but I believe that a larger amount of staff at any given time is greatly needed. They seem to have their staff performing more than what should be expected of a single employee. I don't think that it's fair to the employees or the customers to keep the store so understaffed. read more

This location is somewhat limited in its inventory compared to the other locations but okay. Some of the deli workers are consistently rude but okay. Many of the cashiers are complaining about the managers or their lives to the baggers while I stand there being forced to listen... hey I got my own problems.. but okay. What is not okay at all is what happened 3 days ago. I bought a bag of hoagie rolls from the bakery early in the morning after work. Made some sandwiches for the kids and had 1 roll left in the bag. As I'm cleaning up I look down and there is a German cockroach running out of the bag. Omg! I wanted to vomit and make the kids do the same! So disgusting!! How unsanitary is it back where we can't see??? I will never purchase food prepared at this store again. I will try my best to drive to different locations! Inspect your food people. Will probably call the health department. UPDATE! Ok I had to go to this horrible store to grab something for a party I was running late to otherwise I woulda made the trip elsewhere. I went to the store to pick it up at 900pm and none of the staff members were aware of the order. The person who made my sub obviously was not trained for the deli. This is by far the worst publix I've been shopped at , customer service is horrible , they are always out of stock on certain items and never have enough cash registers open . My number one complaint is the DELI , if you need some sandwich meat you are better off buying the pre cut over priced packages then waiting in the line , it's always over 20-30 minutes . It's not the workers faults they usually only have 2 people , one doing subs and one slicing meats . With about 5 people waiting on each side . They never use the number system so forget shopping around and coming back to see if you moved up you will just get skipped and the managers take it as a joke if you complain . Literally have to stop what I'm doing to write this review. Today is my daughter's 10th birthday so I had to run in to purchase a cake for her. While I was there I decided to pick up a wrap from the deli. I have ordered many wraps before from Publix and they have all been of good quality and tasty. So you might be asking yourself why would somebody write a review on a wrap? To tell you the truth I haven't even eaten the wrap yet but I'm sure it'll be good because they are always good. What compelled me at this very moment, as I'm driving my daughter's birthday cake home, which came out beautifully, is to give credit to a particular employee who absolutely made my day. I have never been serviced in such a way as Bonita, who works in the deli, has serviced me today. There was a customer in front of me who she was helping already, so I decided to run over to the bakery and pick out the cake. I left it for the woman to write my daughter's name and when I got back I noticed more people had gotten in the line. As soon as Bonita saw that I was back she came right over to help me since she noticed me waiting before. She was the nicest. She offered for me to try the chicken that she had just sliced as I was ordering turkey. She offered to make what I wanted however the chicken was as good as she said it would be that I ended up going with that instead. She also offered to put bacon on it which no one has ever done. She really put a personal touch to the service she provided which was much more than just making me a wrap and for that I have to thank. It's very rare, especially here in S Florida to find someone who actually enjoys doing what they do and being able to make a personal connection with someone. I now know someone in this Publix location that I can go to and get a little something extra than just "lunch". Thank you Bonita for taking the time and making me feel like something other than a paying customer. I will be back for another wrap from her very soon! read more
