I went to the bakery and ordered a Chantilly cake for my husband's retirement and had this long conversation with the lady who worked there and she told me because it's a special order they gonna be able to put happy retirement on top of the cake so everything was great. I came to pick it up the night before the party and the writing was not on the cake. It was on the bottom round carton thing and then I ask her about it. She said well because of the type of cake that it is, that's why they couldn't put it on top. But she assured me that they will be able to do it. So I am very disappointed with the service. I went in on a suicide mission of last minute food shopping before Christmas since I was in this shopping center to visit the chiropractor anyway. One thing which resonates in my mind is how much the Queen Bee loves prime rib. She has always been disappointed whenever she would order one while we were out to eat. So as my Christmas gift to her, I bought a 5 pound standing rib roast. I'll make half of it for Christmas Eve dinner and the other for a different occasion. I cook just as well as most restaurant chefs do anyway! The point I'm making here is that when I went to the butcher's window, once I got the fellow's attention, I asked him to halve it. He asked if I wanted them wrapped separately; yes. Meantime there was a sign limiting each shopper to ONE ONLY. So not only did he cut the sucker in half...I sing hosanna and praise because he re-tied each half, re-wrapped each half. Good: beyond that, he wrapped the two halves one atop the other in one bundle. He said he didn't want the cashiers to question me or give me a hard time. That was such great customer service on his part! I wish I got his name so I could pass it along to their management. This young man didn't have to go the extra mile. That's especially since the store was extremely busy and rib roast was on special for $5.99 a pound! Between him, the friendly stock clerks and front end workers, I truly enjoy this store and feel like today, at least, I received good value for what I spent. Is it always this way? Eh...some days will always be better than others. The rib roast? Well just look at that puppy and you'll see it's an awesome looking chunk o' meat too. Ho! Ho! Ho! This Publix is one of their older stores and is the sole survivor of total razing and reconstruction of Tri-City Plaza. The store is located at the northwestern corner of the intersection of US Hwy 19 and East Bay Dr./Roosevelt Blvd. Its facade has been renovated but its interior has not. The layout of this Publix is sort of backwards to all of the other Pinellas Co. locations for those of us who shop counterclockwise. The store was clean and orderly. I had stopped going to Publix because it was more for groceries, however recently I went there to pick up a few things and was pleasantly surprised at how cheaper some things were than Walmart. We shop here often for work events and office parties. The bakery and deli staff here are always very helpful and accommodating. We don't buy cakes anywhere else because we all agree Publix is simply the best. Love Publix as a whole but these new stores are missing the mark. Plantation store was leveled and rebuilt over a year. What we got was a new store but it left me asking WHY. The deli is busy cutting meat and cheese for to go orders while customers are standing in line. The bakery continues to make horrible bread products. The baguettes are squishy, the Hala is squishy. Their idea of a bakery is self service. I miss walking up to the counter and asking for what I want. The worst part is the self service lanes. They should be used when you have ten items or less. I've been there when two lanes are open with three carts deep. Four lanes that are not staffed and people having to use the self service lanes. Your lanes should be staffed and open when you start to see them three customers deep. No one should be forced to use the self service. read more

This location has terrible customer service! Deli staff, Grocery staff & Management! I bought 5 deli items & then asked for a sample on one other item that I was interested in buying. I was told No Samples are allowed. I had a cart full of groceries. Went to front of store & complained. I explained that the other stores still give a sample if asked. Their response was " What store gave you samples?" WOW! (Actually 3 other stores that I had been to gave a sample if asked!) so they lost $200 sale to another location that gave a sample. I decided to give them a second chance. I asked where they moved the Boboli crust too? (I was standing by the Mama Marys crusts.) The response: Oh, they used to be right here, I don't think we have them anymore. I had to find them myself. Why didn't he offer to call a manager or anyone that could help me find them? This is not a bad location, in the way of Publix stores, in general. That said, it is not my favorite location. Fortunately, there is another location just two blocks down East Bay that is larger, and therefore has more options. The lack of Greenwise products irks me some, the beer selection is on the low end, and the selection of imported cheeses is near non-existent. Though this may be due to it being a smaller location, I find it hard to shop here unless I know what I need and am sure that they have it, in a pinch. The staff, here, are terribly friendly. They've worked with me and my picky demands rather well. Also, the managers seem really involved with customers and being on the floor with other employees. We stopped into the store to stock up for our Clearwater Beach stay, as our room was equipped with a full kitchen. We picked up items for breakfast and lunch (mostly the large, delicious and fresh Salads from the deli.) We already had wine; but, we picked up some Hard Ciders as well, for the hot days. This is a 3-star review for this specific Publix, not Publix in general! Publix is a 5-star grocery chain overall. There is literally a Publix every two miles it seems in Pinellas County. This one is probably one of the more convenient ones to access, since its right off of US 19 and East Bay, but it is one of the smaller locations. It was renovated recently, though, so the outside and inside are pretty modern. Compared to other locations, especially the store on East Bay and Belcher, it is not as well stocked. The produce section is tiny and they don't have as wide variety of products. Everything is still fresh and organized though, even if the store feels a little cramped. Customer service, as expected, has always been phenomenal! read more

This Publix is decent. I don't normally shop here for groceries but I go to the deli a lot. I go just for the chicken tenders buffalo sub. The deli is a hit or miss. The crew is either very sloppy and slow and not organized, or they are on top of everything and great. The groceries are kinda expensive as well, if you decide to shop here, just buy the stuff on sale. The floors are clean, vents are clean, most staff are nice and helpful. Not a bad place. read more

We came here for the first time on the night we got into Florida to stock up on food and booze for the week. To our horror, they did not have liquor. They had wine and beer, but no liquor. I'm going to try to avoid this location of Publix because of the lack of FRESH food here. Got a bad taste in my mouth literally right now from having the tiniest bit of yogurt that was spoiled...yuck. The date said April 7th but it is definitely sour. On another occasion I had a deli sub that I bit into and it was crunchy and tough, took it back and got a refund and remained hungry during lunch for trying it. Another time I used their soda machine from the deli and literally found a piece of the machinery in my cup when it got to the bottom. C'mon Publix I don't expect things to go so wrong in a chain grocery store! Last night as it was close to closing time there was honest to God sour smell which I could not pinpoint in the produce area, I told an employee and showed them the specific area. This location is convenient for me but not worth the hassle of getting food that's not fresh. I gave it two stars because they could see that what I was saying was legit in customer service, now I have yet something else to take back..what a waste of my time. read more

Once nearly a true bakery when I moved to Florida now I Can't find a good thing to say about the products. The pound cake was so dry I went through the embarrassment of returning it and I sort through to get the best date. The "fruit "stolen have NO fruit, just a schmear of jam. My most recent purchase was of almond bear claws. Normally I don't buy them because the filling spills out and burns. They were bogo sometime in October and I only saw a modest amount of the spilling out so I thought "someone has finally done something about that". NO! It turns out there isn't any filling to leak out in the first place. That small amount was all there was. The chocolate cookies are just terrible, coconut of palm seed oil? Something makes the taste so cheap. These people no longer care. It's the only explanation. The bright side is I can pass by that department knowing there's nothing there for me. read more

My favorite super market, Stupendous Customer service, I'm always greeted with a friendly smile, and or asked if I am finding everything alright. Some of the staff knows me by name, A few cashiers, Customer service rep, and stockers, and the store manager is an absolute doll, she recognizes who comes in often and always makes sure to they are doing alright, The prices maybe be a few cents cheaper at Walmart down the road but the customer service at publix is why I choose to spend my money there. read more
