I genuinely love Publix, and a big part of that comes down to their people. They consistently hire exceptional employees, and it shows the moment you walk in. One of the things I appreciate most is their commitment to hiring individuals with disabilities. Seeing a few of the same employees each visit, smiling, working hard, and clearly being valued members of the team honestly makes the entire shopping experience happier and more human. It changes the tone of the store in the best way. Great service, kind staff, and a company culture that actually feels like it means something. I recently had a very disappointing experience at the Publix on Lakewood Ranch. I had an issue with an online order. I ordered it customized. Upon arrival the Publix employee told me to was not customized and I did not order it customized. This was before I saw the item or the item was finished. Okay. Woah. Hold on. Very aggressive when I just said my name for the order. Proceeded to say it "it is what it is". When I spoke to manager Matt about it, he was shrugged. This left me feeling frustrated and hungry, as I was unable to get my order. I'm very disappointed with the level of customer service I received at this Publix. None to be clear. I hope that they will take steps to address this issue so that other customers don't have the same experience. read more

Grocery store is generally pretty good and clean. Staff is normally very nice and helpful. If you are going to get a PubSub allot 30 minutes for 4 sandwiches because thats how long it recently took for us without a line. I do not recommend doing an online pub sub order if you want your order to be correct as they recently forgot LETTUCE on one my sandwiches among other things. Lastly, would not recommend getting shrimp steamed and I purchased steamed royal reds at the seafood counter and I got home to discover they were bad after eating one and it tasting like bleach/cleaner. read more

We have relied entirely on Instacart delivery from our local Publix. On the plus side they have a wide selection of products - from food to household. Delivery service has been excellent, although you ate paying either an annual fee or a per delivery fee, plus the service tip. The peace of mind from avoiding public spaces is priceless. On the flip side they do not carry certain brand names, relying instead on their private label. Some of their private label products are just not that great (sausage and cheeses for example). Veggies and fruits are tough when you cannot pick em yourself, so that part has been hit and miss. Overall...solid read more

Last night, I went to get two Pub Subs that were ordered online and they weren't ready. Said okay to the store clerk and went to do the rest of the grocery shopping. Went all the way down the store and back again. Came back a few minutes later and the subs still weren't ready. Bread was sitting out on the counter getting stale while the two deli workers were serving people at the meat counter or serving customers who didn't order ahead. 73 year old mother went up to the counter to ask why her stuff was still sitting out. Customer at the front of the line hilariously got rude and started insulting my mother. I stepped in and she challenged me to a fight like a child. I said "sure" and she said "hit me." I said "you first." Then this woman actually threatened to kill me while claiming she had the moral high ground. Can't recommend the store OR its customers, it seems, but if you want a WWE experience, I guess Lakewood Ranch is your place. The sandwiches were rushed and sloppily made too. read more

This is my favorite Publix location for so many reasons: location, amazing workers who genuinely care about making your shopping experience a quality one, and their hot food/deli/salad bar area is always clean/top notch. It wasn't until I visited a few Publix's in Orlando that made me reason how well THIS publix location is run. I'm giving Publix 4 stars purely on the quality of their products. The service is usually pretty good, but more times than not you're going to be waiting in the Deli, Customer Service or in line. Do not go to this store if you ever want understanding, communication, or help in actually getting your prescription. If I did not work in healthcare, I would not have known that they were essentially lying to me about a back order. Their store did not have the medication and had no concern about filling it . Finally asked to have all RX scripts transferred to a pharmacy with a pharmacist that cares and actually contacts individuals and problem solves to ensure patients get the medicine their doctor prescribed. Do not get your covid shot at this Publix. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I had an appointment which I showed up 10 min early for. They said to fill out this form, I did. I asked if my wife could get her shot at same time. She had an appointment for about an hour later. She said no, we are booked up for every 10 min. We were there for almost an hour and no body else showed up the whole time. First lie. I sat in waiting area waiting for my shot for 20 min. My wife shopped at the store for 20 min and came back. She asked if I got my shot, I said no. So she went up to counter and asked what was going on, they said my appointment was canceled. WHAT? So I went up and asked how did my appointment get canceled? They said it happens sometimes. WHAT? My wife threw a fit so they made us wait another 10 min. And finally we got both of our shots. It is like they do not want to give shots. Never apologized for the wait and no other customers were there. It took almost an hour to get a 5 min shot. We will probably never shop there again. I am not going to commit on the other lie. read more

If you want to shop at Publix, you'd better make sure you have the correct item and don't change your mind about what you're buying. I tried to exchange an item in an unopened box the same day it was purchased with a receipt. I was told their new policy is no refunds or exchanges for any reason which they say is due to the pandemic. There is no logical reason not to accept a return which is not perishable and unopened. If they are worried about people causing infection by touching items, then they should cease selling any products at all since all have been handled by who knows how many people prior to getting to the shelf. Publix is using the pandemic as an excuse to increase revenue at the expense of their customers. I would highly recommend thinking twice before shopping at Publix. read more

My wife and I love shopping at our new Publix. We've always had a good experience with Publix but this one kicks it up a notch. The staff are incredibly friendly. The store is very clean and organized. As a business owner I can't help but notice why this machine runs so well, It's because it's leader is a active player in this business model and I've seen him both run the ship and handle the registers. This is the place to go to for lunch!! Usually I go to the nearby Subway for a quick sandwich, but now that I've discovered Publix' deli section, I'M NEVER LOOKING BACK! $5.99 for the Ultimate footlong? I thought that was a steal. The bread and cheese selection is awesome, and if they don't have something readily available, the employees will happily cut you some fresh slices of bread and cheese for you. Got huge portions of turkey. Lots of fresh veggies, and the honey mustard topping is so yummy. Came out to $6.43 after tax. Usually I can kill a Subway footlong and remain hungry, so I thought I could easily handle Publix' deli sandwich. Fortunately, I was wrong. It was so filling; I had to muster up some mental strength to finish the sandwich in one go (I'm terrible at saving food for later). Very happy with meal. Downside is that there is no seating area to eat your food, so you have to take your food somewhere else to eat. I opted for my car. read more

The Lakewood Ranch, FL Publix is probably the best Grocery Store I've ever visited. All of the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Even the store Manager took the time to show my Dad and I where to find a product. The store is neat, clean, well organized and well stocked. Truly outstanding! Bravo! read more

The 2 rating is because the staff are wonderful. However, the produce has declined rapidly in the last 2 years. It's extremely difficult to buy potatoes without having to throw most of each potato away because of black marks through out. The tomatoes are continuously on the soft/damaged side. I enjoy fresh bread and I have noticed now on many occasions that Publix sells their "day old" bread as if it's just come out of the oven! Also, I have taken to piercing the packages that contain fresh chicken, lamb, beef and pork because I have come home on many an occasion only to discover that the produce is rotten. Times are tough for many people and the reason they shop at Publix is because they want FRESH food and baked goods, if they didn't they would merely shop at Walmart. From now on I will be doing that as well as hunting down any Hispanic stores around us because I have noticed that not only are their baked goods and produce is fresh but they cost less. read more
