The main business of Publix is to sell groceries, but they also have a deli area where they will make you a sandwich. A few weeks ago my wife and I rediscovered that and find it convenient when we want to grab a sandwich. There are a bunch of Publix stores around so I've started checking out different ones, dinner last night was provided by this Publix. We had another great sandwich. Their Italian Sub was their special weekly deal, making it an even more inexpensive dinner. It was a little busy when I stopped by so when it was my turn to order the interactions were more businesslike, tell them what I wanted and she got the job done. There were more customers behind me. I didn't ask for mustard until the end so my photo looks messy but then again, the sandwich was messy. We were pleased. read more

My wife and I were staying on Anna Maria Island and we were evacuated for a hurricane, so we stayed in Sarasota. This Publix was nearby, so we picked up some soda and beer and they were well staffed. The workers were all nice and they had whatever you wanted. It was located in a strip mall and I would definitely go here again. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby and we tried Miller's and got a mahi sandwich. Kind of like a glorified Applebee's, but it was good. Great supermarket, especially during a hurricane. Even while we were there, there were sheets of rain that came down. Check it out. read more

Our favorite Publix. Every staff member in the store is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It's not a large format store but for the square footage they have, they do a great job with stocking varieties of items. They also do a great job of keeping the check out lines moving. It's "our Publix" and it's better than all the others :) read more

I am leaving this review because I am blown away by the service I received at the bakery this weekend. My son's 9th birthday party was yesterday, and we had ordered and picked up a cake the day before. My husband forgot it was in the cart, and the cake fell and flipped upside down. I took it back inside to the bakery and was so stressed because we were expecting 30+ guests the next day, and my son really wanted a particular cake design. Mayra Blanco came over and said she could have the cake re made by the following morning. I saw as she was thumbing through the orders to schedule us how many orders she had, but she still made it a point to re make our cake. We are so grateful! We've always received excellent service at the Bee Ridge Publix bakery. Thank you so much again Mayra and Publix! read more

I drive 25 minutes away from my closest Publix to come to this one! Customer service is amazing, if you've got a kid look for Mr. Johnnie he makes a point to remember our names and always gives my son a balloon and interacts with him. @Publix GIVE THAT MAN A RAISE! Good variety if vegetarian, organic foods and store is always well stocked and in good condition. Publix is the Florida's Mecca to grocery stores. After living in NYC for over 7 years, I relish an opportunity to push my wide-load cart down an extra wide boulevard of every wonderful food item imaginable. But this you can imagine. Now let's look at the most crucial aspect of their service: The Publix Sub. These subs are on the best bread, with amazing, fresh-sliced meat and cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olive, pickles, mayo, oil/vinegar, and salt and pepper. It all soaks into the bread and becomes one slick, sliding mess of meat and juice dripping all over my arms and thighs... I think I just came in my pants. read more

Ordered Publix sub for pickup at 12:15pm. It's now 12:43 and I've been notified that they are just now making my sandwich. This the second day in a row that this has happened. Do not order mobile from here. Go to the Publix off cattlemen, you'll have good service and timely orders. There's 7 people working behind the counter too. So I called 24hrs in advance to order a regular rotisserie chicken. I know how this works because I used to work for this company and I got there and that's when they decided to tell they don't have anything for me! This Publix is outstanding. The customer service throughout is terrific. Mike [Meat Manager], Meredith, Henry, Al and on and on are all topnotch employees. Mark Hightower is a fine manager. There is one oddity that I find curious ... this terrific store has been remodeling the two entrances and surprisingly the new tile floor recently installed inside the East entrance is lumpy. As fussy as the leadership at this store is I was taken aback that this new floor could get a thumbs up. Floor aside, this is a great store! I highly recommend it. read more

This is the worst Publix I've ever been to! Most Publix locations have very friendly employees and they are helpful with anything you need. I've had two terrible experiences at this Publix and I don't plan on returning. My first visit to this Publix was later in the evening to get groceries. Apparently this Publix closes earlier than any of the other Publix around because "we all have to drive to get here" (Quote from one of the employees) We were not aware that they closed early so we were still shopping and an employee came back to find us to tell us we needed come check out because they were closing. When we got to the register to check out there were at least 3 different employees going on about that they were closing and "come earlier next time!" The next visit to the store we came with plenty of time to get what we needed and get out before they closed. We picked up some "Healthy Choice" meals because they were on sale for 5 for $10 and we eat these for lunch quite often. At the freezer there wasn't anything noting we could only buy a certain number of meals. While we were loading our items on to the belt the cashier started shaking his head at me and telling me we couldn't buy all of those. At first I thought he was joking but he continued to be rude. He advised me that we could only buy 8 items. I advised him we would split our order and allow them to take the rest and put back since he didn't want to allow us to make this purchase. A manager came up and did allow the purchase and was polite but the rudeness from the cashier is unacceptable especially with this not being the first issue! read more

It's a Publix, and has everything you expect: excellent service, clean premises, friendly staff, and a wide selection of goods.

This is a warm welcome from Kroger up north. The staff is kind and helpful. My son is in the 'cookie club' and gets a ballon when they are available, there Is an employee who cooks meals in the store that you can sample and obtain one of the free recipient cards to make a quick meal. Although very large , I appreciate the wide variety of options. Also there is almost always a 'kid cart."' for my son to enjoy riding on. Thank you Publix! read more

The customer service you feel is second to none, yes, Walmart is slightly cheaper but the feeling of shopping at Publix is worth a little more. Everyone knows where everything is, they are happy to help you with anything and with a smile. I have never seen an employee complaining of working here. Just amazing. An important thing to mention is that they give people with special needs a chance to work bagging groceries and taking your bags to the car, this seals the deal for me.
