This is one of the worse run publix I've ever shopped in and unfortunately it's been my neighborhood location for the past 3 years. Don't get me wrong I'm a 2nd generation Publix shopper and this is the only one I've encountered with "an I don't care attitude about you" and it starts at the top, as management is the same way. There are some great staff, but it's run so poorly in every department . The worse is the deli counter. They do a HUGE business , more than most of the publix that I have been to, especially being so close to McDill. The sandwich counter is always crazy do I don't understand why they are always short- handed or shutting down one side during prime dinner time when they are open till 10. And why are these poor workers always running out of items when it seems there are so many people literally standing around. Can't they have a designated person to keep them supplied? One day it was so bad 2 other people complained to the GM on duty and only then did the deli manager make an appearance. And while it's nice when the deli people take the time to have lengthy conversations and wasting time with the thickness and offering multiple samples and up selling, don't do it with 20 people waiting. I don't know who these managers that run this publix but it must show nepotism is alive and well! BTW the quality and cleanliness are very good. Could someone also train the baggers? It's not rocket science but please putting 3 heavy or glass items in 1 bag and 2 light items in the other? Yikes! read more

I went to the Britton Plaza Publix for years, but this one is cleaner and feels more stocked. The produce section is beautiful and fresh. The seafood managers are always helpful and willing to answer any questions. I love how sweet the bakery people are with giving my kids cookies and they offer a free balloon to my son every time. I'm hooked on this publix. read more

The sushi bar in this Publix is top notch. It is taken care of by the sweetest couple. If you go when they are there they will make you customized rolls for you. The sushi there is always fresh and filling. read more

Where shopping is a pleasure. This publix is always kept and clean. All the employees are super helpful and smiling. This is a place I don't mind coming to when in need of fresh bread, cookies and great quality meat and cheeses. They recently added the cafe to this particular publix so that you can grab a gelato, coffee or smoothie while shopping. Being a long time shopper here. Publix will forever be the best grocery chain around. Meat quality is always top of the line compared to other stores. Their boars head deli meats are on point. Can't forget the pub subs!! This publix is always a bit less crowded than the others around town. read more

I had a shopping list made for Winn Dixie and decided to go to Publix instead. I had a taste for Boars Head. Ham rang up wrong despite snafu at deli counter manager took care of me. I had to adjust my list a little but found similar items on sale. I will stop at Publix on my way home again next week based on this experience. Seeded Rye Bread...YUM! read more

Love this store except the deli sucks! I have been going to this publix for the past 12 years and even continue to go here after we moved closer to a different one because most of the employee are great and take the time to greet you and comment on how big the kids are getting. But the one negative is how long it takes at the deli section. In doesn't matter what time of day, what number you pick,or how many people they have working. It's always slow! Even when I order online sometimes! They need more space, slicers, and people who are fast! read more

Publix is the beeeeeest! Their vanilla peach tea is to die for. I hope it becomes a regular tea flavor. Yummmmmm.

I ordered a cake as I have done many times at Publix. I was assisted by a person (female) named Charlie. After I placed my order I was told I had to come in to pay in advance or they would not make the cake, I had never been asked to pay in advance, but I did go in and pay in advance. When the cashier took my money she asked "where is the cake"? I informed her I was "pre-paying" and she called a manager over because she said that was not their policy. The manager apologized and I left....simple enough right? WRONG!! I went in on Saturday to pick up my cake and had my two daughters and granddaughter with me since it was a celebration on this special day. Charlie, the rude person decided she would SCREAM AT ME while the other 20 or so people were in the bakery! She called me crazy about a half dozen times and screamed that I was ruining her career! I never raised my voice, man I wanted to.. this Publix employee was so very rude, the bakery Manger was there and hide behind a baking rake, I am not sure if he was afraid of this girl or extremely embarrassed by her actions. None the less, I will never order another cake or shop at this Publix. I have been shopping at Publix for over 30 years in Lutz (North Tampa) and have always been treated kindly and respectfully. We decided not to use the cake only because she had an issue with us from the day I placed the order, she made the cake.... so if she was crazy enough to fly off in front of that many people including her manager, what did she put in that cake? I am a publix shopper from way back. There are two by me and both are great. Depending on what I want decides which one I go to. The Britton plaza store has the better bakery, but as big as their fresh produce area is it can't compare to the one at Gandy. Both are clean, bright, and well stocked. Both have ample parking and friendly employees. read more

Publix is more than a grocery store, it's a good shopping experience. Everyone who works there is friendly. When I ask anyone where something is, they don't just point or say aisle 14, they walk me to it. They also have a wider and wider selection of healthy organic vegetables and grass fed meats. read more

This is my Pub. I love Publix but the people aren't as friendly as my old Pub on Kingsway in Brandon. Still love the place.

Very helpful, energetic, and kind staff. Most of the staff members that I spoke with gave me insight on, not only location of products, but product background information and helpful tips. I usually go at night to avoid people, but it's a big store and never gets too crowded. All products are fresh and well stocked. I love this Publix! It's the only one I've ever seen that has a hot bar, salad bar, a cafe, and a sit down area with WiFi. It's all kept very clean. It's convenient for my lunch break from work, since it's right down the road. Everyone is always super nice there, as well, and there's plenty of parking space. read more

just to let everyone know- be careful when go to the sub shop- the person behind the counter was trying to clean the counter- while holding a piece of bread in her hand; it goes without saying; the counter was not clean; i left right away- if you go there; make sure the counter is clean! i shop there all the time- so i do not hate publix; just letting people know. read more
