The service was fast and friendly. The fall off-the-bone BBQ ribs were some of the best I've had and were fine even without sauce. Speaking of, there were multiple sauces available. These are not your typical thick molasses based sauce, most featured vinegar as the main flavor. I thought this very unique and very good. My favorite was the Great Sauce - combo of habanero, onion and vinegar. My ribs were accompanied by basic but flavorful pintos adorned with onions and parsley and cornbread with real chunks of corn baked in. An added touch was the warm moist towel at the end of the meal. Just before 5:00 PM. That is how timing works when you are on the road. So the place was nearly empty. They weren't busy with customers. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. As we completed our fried chicken (still very good), she came by and did not ask if we wanted anything else but simply said "ready for the check?" It was a way to make us feel like we needed to leave. To add insult to injury, we passed by the hostess table outside on our way to the car as we left and we happened to pass between two Champy's young female employees chatting at the hostess station and blocking the way out. The bar/brewery looks the same, there is the same helpful staff, but in all honesty, the food just isn't as good. The pulled pork, was okay at best, the fried onion rings, just too greasy, and the chicken wings, just too dry. When first opened NR was the first microbrewery to prepare and offer their own food, and the bbq was stellar, but I cannot make that same statement today. Brews are still good, but if need a good microbrewery in Chattanooga that can offer you good food to go along with that cold one, my recommendation is either Oddstory or Five Wits. I'll continue to come to NR for a beer, as their Moonpie Stout is absolutely one of the best beers you can find in Chattanooga, but like I said if I am hungry too, this will no longer be one of my primary spots to consider.

I used to go to Pucketts every Friday for a few weeks with my boyfriend. We fell in love with the food and the atmosphere, I would sit with the server, Haley, the first time we visited Pucketts Haley did such a fantastic job we became her regulars. Until one Friday afternoon, We were out celebrating my academic accomplishments and thought Pucketts would be a great place to do it. After lunch we planned on walking by the river and enjoying the gorgeous, fall afternoon with the sun shining bright, and the leaves crunching beneath our feet. My plans were quickly shattered, we entered Pucketts and it was not as busy as what I am used to, I requested Haley's section and the manager came to the host stand to inform me she no longer worked there. After I requested Haley, his entire demeanor changed, he became rude and sat us at the table. Even though I noticed his change in demeanor, I maintained a smile on my face and a jolly spirit. We sat at the table for 32 minutes without ever being greeted. The same manager that sat us, past by our table a total of seven times, and looked over at me four of those times, I finally asked him if we had a server. His response was, "somewhere" and walked away. This is not professional, and I could very well say this was a race issue, but I rather think higher of him and say it was an issue with the server I originally requested. I was going to bring my entire family for dinner on Sunday so they could fall in love with it just as I HAD but I will never be entering that establishment again. I have never in my life been treated so poorly, and my day was shattered by a man whom does not understand customer service. I usually come in and spend $60 dollars and always tip $25, that is a total of 85 dollars for two people over the course of four weeks that is $340 at least. I am now starting a movement, because for whatever reason this man had, he should never treat his customers that way, and as an educated woman I will state that this was not a race issue, though it could have very well been, but an issue with his values. read more

I recently visited Puckett's for lunch and have to admit, my experience was a bit underwhelming. While the server was friendly, we had a hard time with our food and drinks. Our waiter kept getting our dishes mixed up, and we had to wait quite a while to get refills on our drinks. On the plus side, the location of Puckett's can't be beat. It's located right next to a bustling area where you can enjoy a museum or the Saturday street market, which is great for families. However, the restaurant itself felt cramped and a bit claustrophobic. The food was okay, but there was nothing to write home about. While the Southern-style cuisine was tasty, it didn't quite live up to the hype that I had heard about Puckett's. The prices were a bit high for what we received, and I wasn't 100% satisfied with my meal. One thing that specifically bothered me was that parking is only available in a paid lot, which adds an extra expense to the meal. Overall, I would say that Puckett's isn't a bad choice if you're in the area and looking for something to eat. Just be prepared for less-than-perfect service and a cramped atmosphere. read more

The highlight of our visit was definitely the appetizers - they were the best part of the meal! The fried pickles were crispy and flavorful, and the pimento cheese balls was a standout. If I came back, I'd honestly just order a spread of appetizers and skip the main course. The entrees, while decent, didn't quite live up to the starters. The chicken salad was fine but lacked the bold flavors I was expecting, and some of the sides were just okay. Do not waste your time or money trying the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. It was gross. My wife and I live in Western Kentucky and occasionally get down to Chattanooga. We heard about Puckett's and decided to give it a try. Went this past Saturday night and barely got in. An up and coming band, the Foothills was playing there and the place was packed. Somehow the manager found us a table and we were served remarkably quick. Then the Foothills started playing and they rocked! Paul Hadfield played guitar and sang. What a voice! Vincent Beasley played fiddle, mandolin, dobro and sang harmony. This guy can do it all. And Tony Neeley? What can I say. He's the ultimate Bass player! It's hard to believe that much music can come out of three guys. Puckett's and the Foothills rocked. A great combo. If you're looking for a great place to indulge in some truly DELICIOUS FOOD, look no further than Puckett's Restaurant! I recently had the brisket hash, and let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing--soooo good and bursting with flavor! The classic BBQ sauce elevated the entire dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. The service was equally impressive; I highly recommend asking for Camie--she'll take great care of you and make sure your experience is top-notch. We went to Puckett's for breakfast before going to the Tennessee Aquarium. I had a "make your own" omelette with bacon, spinach, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. It was delicious. They not only stuffed the omelette with what I wanted, they also piled the goodies on top. I have to stay low carb so I gave my husband the potatoes and biscuit that came with it. I did take a small piece of the biscuit and it was amazing. Husband had pancakes and liked them. Our waitress was very nice and got us coffee quickly and made sure to refill our mugs as well. Their bbq sauce was yummy (Sweet was the best). I'd had their stuffed potatoes about a year ago and they were really good! I should've gotten one on this visit but wanted to try a different menu item.

The staff was incredibly friendly, especially my waitress, Sarah. She was so kind and made me feel completely comfortable, which meant a lot to me as someone eating alone for the first time. The smash burger was delicious and cooked perfectly -- although it was definitely a little messy, so consider yourself warned haha. If you like TWD decor, while waiting for your food --- take a walk around the restaurant. You'll see many images and props that were once part of the show, not on display for your viewing pleasure. My only critique --- put the corn on the side instead of laid-upon the shank. The flavor of the meat was so tender and although I had no taste of Coca-Cola at all, it was deeply savory and enjoyable. Totally recommend. Service was spot-on too. For the drink, it must've been good. I don't remember the name...either way, I asked the waitress to surprise me. Maybe it doesn't have name. If you're passing thru, pay Nic & Norman's a visit. There's only five (5) of these restaurants as of 2026. It's a beautiful restaurant, and it was a wonderful experience. Total 5/5.
