I walked in at 8:20 and the kitchen had mostly closed. I get it. It looked like a really slow night and I've worked in enough restaurants to remember shutting f things down early. That being said, Tony the bartender came to greet me at the door and told me he was sorry but it was closing down except for the bar. When I asked about food he said they could still make what I wanted, the piggy mac, and sure enough they made it for me and had it out in record time. First time at Puckett's and I will definitely be back!! We started with fried pimento cheese bites and let me tell you that combo with strawberry pepper jelly is the bomb. I ordered the catfish with collard greens and fries and it was phenomenal...the crunch on that catfish was the best ever and it never got soggy from laying on the plate and the collards were so good...I wouldn't recommend the fries. We headed to Puckett's after leaving another non friendly establishment. We came in for a family breakfast, we were sat right away. I don't remember our waiters name but he was exceptionally friendly. I had the southern breakfast plate with fried chicken, the chicken was awesome and so was the gravy, I would get that again. Others at our table had the Buffet and enjoyed it. Our youngest had a single chocolate chip pancake and she ate almost all of it. The pancakes off the menu are decent sized, on the Buffet they are the small ones. My husband ordered the Leipers Fork plate and really liked the sweet potato pancakes. Overall we enjoyed our visit and our server being so friendly is exactly what we look for in customer service. read more

We wanted to like Puckett's, but expected it to be more unique. It is similar to a Cracker Barrel with a small stage. Parking was difficult; we were there around 1:30 on a Tuesday. Pretty good food overall. I really liked the cherry smoked wings and highly recommend them. The brisket was a little overcooked. Pulled pork was good. The mushroom soup was very good and loaded with mushrooms. The servers were polite and courteous. The kids meal was a good value and a nice option. Finally open. Great fast, friendly service by our waiter Drew. They were not all that busy because they have not advertised but are only using "word of mouth" that they are open. Their grand opening will be September 1st. However, I recommend coming before then, to avoid the long wait. My friends of Market Street are describing this restaurant as a high end "Cracker Barrel". Well, I do such agree with them. I come to Market Street every Thursday leaving all my money through out the area at my regular spots. Today I was told that Pucketts was open with a special going on. menu items ordered: Fried Catfish, sweet potato fries and cole slaw along with good ole southern sweet tea. My catfish was cooked perfect with a flavorful taste I might add. It came with tarter sauce on the side. The cole slaw was so good, and the sweet potato fries were so good -I didn't need anything to dip them in as I just ate them plain. Location: This restaurant is located in the old TGI Fridays restaurant that was once here. It's right next to the Tennessee Aquarium. Parking: Customers can park in the big parking lot right outside which is a "pay lot". Or, my suggestion is to find a parking meter to park at which is cheaper. Now it is the simple truth: do like I do -and park at a meter a few blocks away after 5pm for free parking. Remodeling complete: I noticed that not only the restaurant has been remodeled but the bathrooms have been completely remodeled, redone and decorated with new sinks, walls, floors and etc. History: The first Puckett"s dates back to the 1950"s and was a little grocery store in Leiper"s Fork, Tennessee. Originally, Pucketts was known in Williamson County, Tennessee in such towns as Nashville, Columbia, and of course Franklin. Awards: Puckett"s was voted Top 10 Restaurants in Williamson County in April of 2013 according to "Nashville Lifestyle". Let me just start by saying if you are having doubts about this place, doubt no more. This place is amazeballs, The food here is fantastic, and the service is great! I got the fried chicken and Apple Jacks for breakfast. I am not normally a "chicken and waffles" type of girl BUT this was recommended to me by our server , Josiah (one of The best servers I've ever had. This man deserves a raise just sayin) and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I couldn't put the fork down and ended up eating way more than i should have. Lol. Also they were kind enough to get us an order of fried pickles even though it was breakfast time (I must try fried pickles anywhere I go) and WOW best fried pickles I've ever had!!! Walking distance from the aquarium, which was very convenient for us. We were quoted a 25 minute wait but were seated in 10. I got their burger (added bacon) and fries which was fantastic! My husband got the BBQ platter and thought it was all great except for the brisket which was too chewy. My daughter got the grilled cheese which I snuck a bite of and it was delicious! Service was terrible and with an attitude. I completely understand that the wait staff has no control over the kitchen but our waitress almost ignored us for refills and seemed not only unconcerned but defiant about the lack of one of our meals. By the time we finally got the fourth meal it was almost 20 minutes later. After that we were basically ignored by the waitress like she didn't know how to handle a mistake. Whether it was hers or the kitchen didn't matter just communicate something to let us know you are trying and trying to turn the situation around with a positive attitude would have made a huge difference. We visited the aquarium and our friend started to not feel well. She needed some hot tea. We stumbled upon Puckett's and I am glad that we did. The waitress quickly brought out some hot water and tea bag. We hadn't seen that on the menu so we were happy. I asked if they had any pimento cheese since our friend had never had it. They did!! Our friend wanted to try some fried chicken but we were informed that it would take 30 minutes. She agreed to wait and was very happy that she did. She loved it. Although Puckett's has been open for a while and has a central location in downtown Chattanooga, this was my first time visiting. I came around dinner time (6pm) on a Thursday night, and there were few tables full; we were immediately seated a nice table by the window overlooking downtown Chattanooga. First, the service: Our server, providing both helpful and friendly service, gave us suggestions and the specials of the day. All of our service at this restaurant was quick and exemplary. Second, the ambiance: because of the lack of people, the quiet room had a bit of an odd vibe, but the decor and casual atmosphere were both endearingly southern. I'm sure on live music nights (Mondays, I believe) would have a more upbeat atmosphere. Third, the food. My friend and I split the nachos as an appetizer, and they were good. That's it--good. The meat on top was tender and juicy, but the other toppings were sparingly tossed on top. Some of the chips felt a bit stale, but overall, I did eat quite a few and enjoy them. For a meal, my friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich--and again, it was deemed "good". She rated it 3 stars, nothing special. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, blackened. I did not care for the texture of the chicken, as it felt chewy and undercooked, but the french fries on the side tasted fresh. The prices for the food (soft drinks, nacho appetizer, 2 sandwiches) ended up being $40, a fair price for the serving of food, which I appreciated. Overall: Puckett's is good, slightly above average. I would love to try to for brunch, but I will probably not return for dinner on my own accord. read more

First and last time at this highly recommended restaurant. Our server was Matthew, pretty inattentive. Not once did he just check in on us, forgot our appetizer, that when we asked for we got but was still charged full price? Even though we didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. Ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, bland. I'm not sure if they just forgot to season it but I tasted 0 spice, disappointing. Waited 30 minutes for a disappointing time. Not sure why but the cobbler did not taste fresh in the slightest. Not sure why you're saying any of that. Matthew did seem busy, but any of the rest of what you're saying is completely not true. Came here on a Wednesday around 5pm in March. Was about a 20-30 minute wait. Once inside, the service was great, we had a very attentive server and food took standard time to come out - about 15-20 minutes. This evening my family and I went to Pucketts, we've been to the others in middle Tennessee and love them so we decided to try the one here! We had an appetizer of fried green tomatoes over warm pimento cheese and it was DELICIOUS. Both entrees were great and the desert of strawberry crumble was surprisingly one of the best deserts I've had in a good long while. I would describe our experience at Puckett's as conflicted. I order the Fried Green Tomato BLT and our server suggested adding Pimento Cheese to it. I'm glad I trusted his feedback because it was delicious!! The Sweet Potato Fries, however, weren't very tasty - almost like they had been sitting out for quite a while. We also order the Smoked Pepper Queso that the menu described as a "rich Queso sauce" but unfortunately, it was too thin - spilling off of the chip like water. It had great flavor, though.
