Excellent ribs and amazing service! I came in from out of town hungry and a little early for dinner but they were open and seated me immediately. I chose to sit at the bar since I was solo. Bartender Matt helped me with a whiskey recommendation and let me know it was happy hour on the appetizers. I tried the bbq pork ribs which thankfully came out quickly and were really good and there were about twice as many as I expected. Perfect amount. To balance things out I also got the Cobb salad which was also great and a nice size portion; I took about half with me. We visited for lunch last week, after a jaunt through the aquarium. Food was great, so was the beer selection, the moonpie stout was outstanding. Pulled pork sandwich and fries was tasty, especially topped with slaw and Puckett's original bbq sauce. Piggy mac and cheese, and the kids chicken tenders, both GREAT. We like it so much we went back for dinner the same night, we had the pimento cheese bites, they were warm and filling, the pepper jelly made them perfecto. We then shared the fried chicken plate, with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Kiddo wanted those chicken tenders again. Of course I had to have another one (maybe two) of those moonpie stouts. Service was great during lunch and dinner, food arrived hot and fresh. Live music at night, which was also enjoyable. I wish I had taken more pics, but all that made it before taking a bite, or a sip, were the pimento cheese bites, the moonpie stout, and a blackberry tea. Came here an evening after the aquarium very handy location and parking. We had the smoked wings appetizer honey bbq and it was so good. Sweet tea is southern sweet. I had the chicken fried chicken and green beans, mashed potatoes. Really good. Highly recommend this restaurant. We often go to the Nashville location. read more

Yummy!!! My husband was very excited to take me here after eating here once. I talked him into sharing the piggy mac and cheese. It's mac and cheese with pulled pork. Fabulous! His smoked sausage and cheese appetizer platter was wonderful as well. I enjoyed my Farmer's punch which has some moonshine in it. I went with a small salad with homemade dressing and it was a great choice for a hot summer evening. Overall meal was great and I would suggest anyone in town stop by and try this place. My last visit here was not so great and I probably wouldn't have come back again. However, I was invited back with a $25 gift card to give them another opportunity to serve me. I came in with two of my friends and asked to sit at the patio since we brought our dog. We had McKenzie as our server and she suggested the Whiskey Glazed Wings ($9.99) which we ordered with the Southern Fried Chicken ($14.99). The wings came out promptly and they were absolutely delicious. They exceeded my expectation and are some of the best wings I've ever had. The skin was crispy, meat juicy, and the flavor was nice and sweet. The Southern Fried Chicken takes about 25 mins to make, but came out around the same time we finished our appetizer. We got mac & cheese and mashed potatoes with brown gravy as our sides and they were both very good. The chicken was crispy, not too greasy, and tasted great. We shared the food between us three girls and we were all perfectly satisfied by the time we finished. Everything was delicious but the wings were definitely my favorite. McKenzie was a great server! She was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had a great experience. She even offered to get our pup some water. Overall, very happy I came for another visit. Went here on a Saturday for breakfast while making a weekend to Chattanooga. First, the Bloody Mary was made very well and had just the right amount of spice. Had the omelette with pulled pork in it and it was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and funny. Highly recommend a stop at Puckett's for breakfast or dinner. read more

We've been meaning to try this Chattanooga location since they opened. We've been to the Grocery in Leiper's Fork and the location in downtown Nashville. Solid meals at the Middle Tennessee locations so we expected the same here. They did not disappoint! Good food, excellent, attentive service. We dropped in for a late-ish lunch so I can't offer a full menu review...yet. I ordered the three sliders which come in your choice of pulled chicken, pulled pork or brisket. Tough choice, right? Turns out there was no need to choose. I asked for one of each and they delivered. Served with a side of surprisingly great sweet potato fries (they're often not great other places) and a portion of tasty slaw. The Better Half had a Portobello Burger: mushroom in place of meat. Also an excellent choice and thoroughly enjoyed. Take the low-star reviews with a grain of salt. This place is worth the trip. We won't wait is long to visit again. read more

Absolutely amazing service and food! I believe the bartenders name was Josh, he killed it. The beer selection isn't extensive but they keep good ones on tap. We ordered the nachos and the fried pimento cheese bites for the appetizer, they were so good we didn't even want the main course. We decided to go to the Family style Thanksgiving buffet since it was 3 adults this year at home. It was busy when we arrived but we had a Noon reservation and the table was ready.They had just opened for the day at 11AM. We had a basket of 5 rolls put down, but no butter.The sever said you get a salad or cup of soup to start, we all the broccoli cheese soup which was good but had a flour-y taste from not letting the soup cook long enough. My husband doused it with salt and pepper even though he never salts anything. As soon as we finished the server removed the soup cups. As we noticed a few people from the first tables were beginning to leave and new parties sat down. The other table that sat down had a different server who quickly got them the salad/soup/bread/drinks all in about 5 minutes, as we waited for anything to come to our table. The table was just finished with their soup and the food for them was all served to them. Meanwhile we were going on ten minutes with nothing happening on our table of 3. Finally my husband said, he was going to get up to leave. At that moment the kitchen runners bring out the platter of turkey, meat and stuffing and TWO plates. And then the side dishes were sat on the table by the kitchen runner. My husband still had no plate as we passed around the food between me and my brother in law before it got cold. The portions of what they gave us was definitely set up for 2, like 2 scoops of potato and sweet potatoes in a dish. It was 5 minutes before we got a plate for my husband, The food was cold. The server said the dishwasher was backed up! The gravy was about 3 ounces total in a dish for turkey and mashed potatoes for three adults....Obviously that felt we needed to be on a diet. Of course we could have asked for more as it was all you could eat but after waiting on this food we made the best out of it. It tastes fine, nothing to write about. The pie was one choice of pecan or pumpkin. We all had pumpkin, and it was gritty but did have a nice spice flavor. Unfortunately it wasn't a very happy thanksgiving at Pucketts for us but we are very thankful that we had food to eat and see the other patrons in the restaurant get great service and food. The menu posted outside was more than enough to lure us inside. They had me at "Fried Green Tomato BLT." I started with a cup of Bacon Mushroom Potato soup. It wasn't exactly how I thought it would be, chunky where I anticipated smooth, but it was great- the individual flavours were easily distinguished, and worked well with each other. Their signature coffee was decent, if a little weak. My bride and son got fountain drinks. My son's entrée was the Piggy Mac- a skillet full of cherrywood-smoked pulled pork and Mac and smoked Gouda cheese, topped with a little pancake. He subbed in fries for the salad, vegetables being anathema. When a 13 year old describes a dish as "delightful" without the least hint of sarcasm, you're on to something! Darling Bride had the Tennessee Philly; a sub roll stuffed with smoked brisket, onion, green peppers and Gouda cheese, served au jus. I tasted a bit of her brisket, and it was like kissing an angel. She planned to let me try a bite of the sandwich, but that didn't happen... She subbed sweet potato fries for the standard fries - worth every penny of the 80¢ upcharge. My sandwich brought me to tears, but in a wonderful way. Two slices of white bread, a little mayo-based sauce, a man-sized portion of amazing bacon, a thick slab of green tomato (breaded lightly and expertly fried), and a perfect over-hard egg, just like I ordered. This sandwich was all that I expected, yet so much better than I anticipated. Next time I go to Georgia, I will build in extra time to swing through Chattanooga JUST to come back. Brent provided excellent service, and the spill wasn't actually his fault. He was knowledgeable and attentive, but didn't hover. Went in for breakfast. The woman who seated me put in the worst table in the place. My server was very sweet and eager to hospitable. I had two eggs, bacon, grits and toast. The eggs were ok. The toast (one slice) was dry (no butter) and not hot. I was given some cold (hard) butter pats, but no one can spread cold butter on toast. The grits weren't bad. The bacon was pretty thin. It was an inauspicious breakfast. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again. read more

Everything about this place is top notch, and the staff is so friendly! I went with my fiancé- neither of us had been before. It was a Friday night and they seated us very quickly. The menu is simple with not to many outrageous/outgoing selections (which I loved), I enjoyed being able to order a breakfast my grandmother would make on any giving morning. I'm no gourmet, but I know good fried chicken when I taste it, and Puckett's is the BEST!! Their special batter makes for a wonderfully crispy outside and a tender juicy inside with lots of flavor all around! And they use the same batter for their fried green beans, which are also incredible. Their skillet baked Mac & Cheese was bubbling-hot and yummy. The servers are friendly and the restaurant has a clean casual atmosphere appropriate for a BBQ place. The BBQ chicken was good, but not the best I've ever had. The sides really completed the meal as all were full of flavor (I got fries, baked beans and potato salad). The happy hour cocktails were very good and there were a lot of choices. I would definitely return just for happy hour. They have an allergen menu but the gluten free items were not very easy to identify because it was not up to date. Went to Puckett's recently after seeing the Tennessee Aquarium. The location was very close to not only the aquarium but the Medal of Honor Museum. It was doing the recent cold snap, and despite a water issue in the building, the food was good, and the staff friendly. I had the BBQ sliders. Which a sample of beef, sausage, and pork. The portions was ok, but after all it was sliders. Others in our party had the brisket and pork sandwiches, and they pleased with the meal, but it was nothing they would drive out of their way to go there again. read more

I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes (loaded). I enjoyed the tiny portion of mashed potatoes served in a tiny bowl so if you want a regular portion, order an additional side. The skillet Mac and cheese needs some seasoning. Tasted like cheesy cardboard. The meatloaf was eye appealing. It's texture was.....a grilled beef patty with gravy, mushroom and onions. Nothing about it resembled meatloaf. Ok. The cherry cobbler......dry cake with cherries. Omg. I at least thought this was going to be lit. Dry cake and a stingy serving of cherries. So......it remained DRY. Cobbler (good or bad) is never dry. I mean it's cobbler I was sort of shocked at the quality. On the upside, I did like the little (teeny) pancake looking corn cake. Great, friendly service, good food and within very short walking distance if you are visiting the aquarium. We ordered a simple classic burger w fries for lunch. Everything was fresh, tasty and cooked to our specifications. Bathroom is rather claustrophobic and you have to squeeze by others to get to a stall, but that's not a big deciding factor for me in deciding where to eat. Just throwing that out there for some that may not be able to deal with that. The restaurant is family friendly and suitable for those w small children. read more

Solid spot downtown near the aquarium. Good beer options, hearty menu, good people. Have had friends rave over weekend brunch, but I haven't tried that yet. Live music, new location for UTC's Chat with the Mocs on Tuesdays and a decent vibe. Bottle beer was limited. I've been seemingly allergic to draft recently so I was down a bit that the bottles didn't match the draft craft-wise. For dinner I had the piggy mac. Basically BBQ covered with Mac & Cheese. It's the 2nd time I've had it. Good medium plate which can be shared or enough for a small meal if you're not a voracious eater. Service was slow to start. I sat in the Bermuda Triangle evidently. Turns out the server for my table left and a the next one didn't know it. She was good from there, however, so it was no issue. Puckett's is worth your time. This was not a planned stop. We had visited the aquarium and were pretty hungry after that. There was a short 10 min wait which wasn't bad. But there is no where to really wait. And they weren't serving the outdoor seating area which was a bummer because it was nice out. The beef brisket was really good. I got it with no BBQ sauce and loved it. Also have to try the blackberry citrus tea! It was so tasty, I got a half gallon to bring home! read more
