5 stars, hands down. This is the perfect, southern joint. The atmosphere here is vibrant with laid back southern hospitality. Your drink is always refilled and you'll catch yourself in a good conversation with your waiter or waitress. Good luck choosing only one thing on the menu, whatever you have is going to be great and make you want to come back. Personally, I love the Fried Chicken club. Fried chicken, ham, pimento cheese and bacon all on sourdough toast, hard to beat that. I actually love the BBQ salad with brisket, it's a perfect lunch. Hit them up on the right night and you can even hear song writers play their tunes. The staff is friendly and there isn't a bad decision to make on the menu. I enjoyed the Piggy Mac - a dish with personality. As the menu describes it, "Cherry wood smoked pulled pork in an iron skillet, topped with smoked Gouda Mac 'n Cheese. Served with a house salad." When my mom and dad said this place "Cracker Barrel with a bar," I laughed. I understood where they were coming from, but I have a little different take. I was here for a business dinner and my boss had made reservations so as a party of 5 on a weeknight we were seated immediately. Service was prompt and friendly. There is a full bar and a wide selection of bourbons, I'm from Kentucky that is a thing. I had the pork chop special and split it with a table mate that was not an issue at all. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The fried okra was yummy. The fried green tomatoes were good, but could have used a little more seasoning in the coating. Some members of the party ordered salads that never arrived but we taken off the bill. The live music was great! Here is an interesting place for a Chicagoan to visit. 8 of us sat outside for lunch on a Monday and it was packed. The inside has this grocery store style open refrigerated section with vegetables. I don't know if you could buy the veggies. We sat outside on a very hot and steamy day. However, the overhangs and plants gave us just enough shade to make it quite enjoyable. I had a pulled pork salad. One adult had the mac n cheese which they highly recommended. It must be good if an adult would pick mac n cheese for lunch with so many other options. A couple of the 8 years had the brisket platters. Kids eating brisket for lunch? Unheard of! Must be amazing. Service moved quickly. My wife and I have come to Franklin Tn. for a weekend getaway. When we arrived in Franklin Friday parking was very sparse so we had to park about a mile away and walk downtown. We walked to Puckett's restaurant. The restaurant is rustic and has a local nice feel. My wife had the chicken salad she said was good and I had the bbq, slaw and fries. The bbq was good but had the taste I would expect from a restaurant with a variety of food and not just a bbq joint but I'm not saying it wasn't good it was good. The manager is on the scene and visits each table multiple times. The restaurant is very friendly. For dessert we had the fried brownie with homemade ice cream, it was good but very sweet. This was my first time here, and overall, pretty great! Location is great in downtown Franklin, such a cute area. It's nice to be able to wander in for a casual lunch without breaking the bank. Food is southern style, pretty casual. Mostly sandwiches and salads. I got the brisket taco salad and it was tasty. The brisket clearly came with a lot of love and just melted on your mouth. Visiting Nashville from California, if I remember it correctly, I gave it 4 stars the from the last 2 times me and my family ate there. That was the thing of the past because tonight, i and 5 other family members were turned down and I was told that by 5 pm (I checked their computer/iPads clock it was 15 minutes before 5pm) they would only accept parties of 4 and below because their big tables were occupied/already reserved. And come back around 6:30 pm to get in. So, I said ok and walked away. But a family member who is almost local to Nashville went in to double check because it was inconvenient to move/look for another spot with 2 seniors and a small kid. Phuket's staff called their other location and told my family member that their other location can accommodate us so my party of 6 got in the car. And one of their staff stopped us saying a party of 5 cancelled their reservation so we could come back in (really inconvenient!) We got back in and so the staff putting together a 2 top and 4 top table together for another party. Are you kidding me that what they call a big table!!! SO GOOD! We loved one location of Puckett's so much when we came for vacation last year that we decided to try a different location when we came back for our family vacation. We learned from one of the staff that we were actually in the original Puckett's! I love everything about this location! The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal! Parking: We learned after we had already found street parking that there was a small lot in the back of Puckett's. It was pretty small so we were better off parking on the street. Just know that if you enter in through the back way, you are entering in through the kitchen! Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant: This location had a real southern down home vibe. It was very spacious and nice. Service: Our server was Lee. He was absolutely phenomenal. He really took his time with us explaining the top sellers on the menu and we pretty much ordered everything he suggested. He was entertaining, checked on us throughout our dining experience, and really made everything pleasant for us. Food: AMAZING! Everything was full of flavor and just delicious. I had the sliders (I ordered chicken, brisket, and pulled pork). The cole slaw is not "Sweet" if that is what you are used to but if you add it to your dish (i.e. I ate it inside the sliders), the sweetness does come through from the bbq sauce. We were so full we couldn't save room for dessert but the warm cookie with ice cream looked amazing! The ONLY thing I did not like, was that I did see another server with long hair handling her table's food and I saw her hair touching their food before she gave it to them. I am just glad our server Lee handled our food. Perhaps servers with longer hair should wear high pony tails or buns so that their hair isn't touching the food with how they handle it. Overall: Lee made our experience awesome! We would definitely go again and request for him to be our server!
