We are traveling through and stopped in Brentwood and saw good reviews on Waldo's. We are so glad we stopped. The food was great. We ordered the fried pickles, there were so many of them and so very good, my wife order the buffalo chicken salad, again, very good. We ordered the cheddar biscuit basket.... OMG, they were so amazing. Service was very quick and Enzo waited on us and was very engaging and made sure our needs were always taken care of. Probably a good sign when they have regulars coming in as we had a great conversation with the fella next to us. If you get a chance you need to try this place

Cool little spot around the corner from my stay in Nashville doing a work site visit. Sat at bar and enjoy some chill ambiance. Had a beer since I was walking and a chicken salad. The chicken was good. Service from bar was great. Friendly and attentive.

This is a good fast food option. The chicken strips are seasoned very well before breading. They are small tho! The wedges are pretty good but only expect about 5 in the box. There was also a small cheese bread muffin that was very good and somewhat sweet. Mac and cheese was also tasty. All in all I'd definitely order again for lunch or dinner.

I didn't want to go to Waldo's. I didn't want to like Waldo's. I failed on both those fronts. Let me explain. Waldo's took over the space that was previously occupied by BurgerFi. And I love BurgerFi. I freaking LOVED BurgerFi and I was shattered when it closed. It was one of my two go-to places when I visit Brentwood. Out of spite, I was determined to not visit Waldo's because it took over what was rather hallowed space. So for dinner while I was in town I was headed to my other go-to place (Tacos4Life), only to find it closed because of an HVAC issue. Since I was already over there I decided to begrudgingly give Waldo's a try. When I first walked in the door (aside from a sentimental "this should be BurgerFi" in my mind) the first thing I noticed was Red, White, and Blue. The colors of the flag make up a large part of the decor, along with some cool modified posters of celebrities holding chickens. It's an order-at-the-counter here's-your-number-we'll-bring-it-to-you kinda place. Sandwiches and tenders and salads make up the bulk of the menu, and a selection of home-made sides. While waiting for my food I looked around the place. It's got a nice bar (not a full bar, but a decent bar, given it's a restaurant first and not a place meant for nightlife.). Horizontal red, white, and blue stripes surround you while country music (rather loudly) fills your ears. My food came in about 12 minutes. I opted for 3-piece tenders with tomato-cucumber salad and a drink. (I had a late lunch so I wasn't extremely hungry). The jalapeño ranch sauce for my tenders and (much to my surprise) I happened to visit on National Biscuit day, so I got a free biscuit. Actually it's a small biscuit. We'll call it a bisquit-ette: Cheddar, Jalapeño, and Bacon...and it was GOOD. The tenders were great. They were served hot-out-of-the-fryer and were great. Moist and not dry at all. It worked well with the jalapeño ranch sauce. The tomato-cucumber salad, however, was The Star of this show. It was almost exactly like what my grandmother used to make. I could make a meal out of just that salad. Granted, it'd be a lot of tomato-cucumber salad, but I could do it. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was hustling. Everyone I interacted with (ok, one person) were great and friendly. During the half hour or so I was there at least 6 people come in for carryout. Ok, I like Waldo's. Can't say I love it yet because I've only visited once, but there's potential. We'll see the next time I'm in town.

    "The Roost" chicken sandwich
    William W.

Alabama native Mark Waldo founded this franchise in 2019 when it debuted in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood. So it's rather remarkable that in five year's time, they've rapidly expanded to 14 locations across seven states, all located in the Southeast except their Denver-area store. Just three months after Brentwood's beloved BurgerFi closed its doors in the CityPark development, Waldo's thankfully took over the coveted space and opened its fifth location in Middle Tennessee in mid-November of 2023. Offering classic southern dishes with a distinct emphasis on chicken, you'll get a sizable meal for about $15 per person and a wide range of menu options. THE GOOD Waldo's makes their food fresh every morning, and the quality is evident. "The Roost" sandwich might be the best thing on the menu. While I far prefer fried chicken to roasted or grilled, this rotisserie chicken sandwich is sensational with very tender chicken and tangy white sauce. While their Alabama white doesn't taste as good on its own, lacking the optimal balance of ingredients like the versions at competitors Martin's and Edley's, it actually works perfectly in the sandwich over the chicken and pickles on a bun beautifully soft on the outside and toasted on the inside. The chicken tender sandwich is probably a close second, with crispy strips of chicken accentuated by pickles and sauce. THE BAD Unfortunately, at all Waldo's locations, while the batter is properly crisp the chicken tends to be very dry and never juicy. Admittedly, it's a difficult art to master. I've worked on this with my own deep fryer at home for years before getting it right. The fries are tasty but always soggy at any Waldo's, possibly fried only once when they should always be double fried. The blue cheese dressing is just odd with a green hue and unusual taste. One of their off-menu items is a basket of six cheddar biscuits. But we're not fond of the super sweet taste, closer to an overly sugared cornbread than a classic southern biscuit. Waldo's is far from the best chicken in town with so many amazing versions across Nashville. But it's certainly a satisfying meal and good food for the price.

    A $10.00 side of coleslaw.

I wish I could say this was the first time I got half full side and I wish I could say that I now remember to check the order when I am in a hurry. This is their interpretation apparently of a $10.00 side of coleslaw. So frustrating. I'm just going to try and re-create from scratch I guess since I can not afford this habit any longer.

FRIED QUARTER DARK with mac n cheese and collard greens.

Wow! Just wow. Visiting Nashville from Vegas and this was by far my favorite spot of the whole trip. Not only was the fried chicken cooked perfectly, the mac n cheese had the perfect amount of cheesy gooey goodness, the greens were also cooked deliciously well. That cheddar biscuit was the cherry on top and the we didn't even wait long for our food. We went on a Sunday and absolutely loved the buy a beer get one free deal. Wish there was something like that out here in Vegas. Not to mention how friendly and kind the servers were. The bartender was a great help with helping me choose a beer. We went during lunch so it was a bit crowded but we still found a table. Very much a social and upbeat energy with the games playing but chilled out a lot as the hour went on. Would totally recommend this spot for a reliable yummy meal and a chill place to eat. Whenever I go back to Nashville i'm for sure going back here!

The Potato Wedges were overcooked but the Sandwich was pretty dang good. There are some pickles underneath that juicy chicken.

I've noticed this franchise chicken shop popping up all around Nashville for a while. Today was my first visit for lunch and I liked it. We tried the 3 Tender box and the Rotisserie sandwich called " The Roost" The Tenders were just the right crispness and we're flavorful. The Rotisserie sandwich topped with housemade Alabama White Sauce and pickles was my favorite. I gave it a 4 star because my potato wedges were way overcooked and the music was too loud. Maybe if I were in there drinking a beer and chilling, it wouldn't be that bad, but I was in there for a workday lunch. That being said, I will go back because the food was fresh and tasty. They make their own sauces and the sauces we had were all good and they have different heat levels. They do have a small bar area and some TV's. They have a rotating mostly local beers on tap and some whiskey and vodka drinks. The options they have for Chicken is On the Bone, Bun, Baskets or Bowls. They had some Umbrella covered outdoor tables. It's a good little chicken place and it's priced good. There is plenty of free parking. Last but not least-- The staff were friendly and the food came out in under 15 minutes. I recommend.

The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.
