When you walk in the door of Puckett's Gro. you're immediately enveloped in the sweet, toasty smells of a fresh BBQ. The interior is inviting and friendly, not pretentious, but still nice enough to feel like you're going out to dinner. My boyfriend and I added Puckett's to our list of places to eat on Nashville weekend trip due part to great word of mouth reviews and Restaurant Week. We didn't have high expectations, but nevertheless Puckett's fell short when we received our food. Why were we disappointed? Quality control. My boyfriend and I both ordered the same items, but when they arrived they were vastly different. Most notably different were the pork chops we ordered: one was succulent, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection. The other was dry, tough to chew, and lacking any of the flavors from their glaze. When dessert came, we asked for one without a chocolate drizzle and one with (my boyfriend is not a fan of chocolate) and yet they both came doused in varying amounts of chocolate sauce. At the end of the day, it was a little disappointing to pay $70+ on a meal that was so inconsistent. While I'd consider going back again, it'd more likely be for a small, casual meal instead of a full sit-down dinner. read more

So I ordered rib platter with fries and baked beans . First off the fries taste like a salt lick . I was afraid of the effects on my blood pressure and they were so salty that I couldn't eat them . Next came the ribs . I was really looking forward to the ribs . The ribs smelled nice and Smokey .... But .... That where anything good concerning the ribs ends . The ribs were the toughest ribs I have EVER encountered in all my 53 years . The meat could not be pulled from the bone with my fingers and it was almost impossible to eat from the bone . I have had more tender dried jerky than what I got today at Puckets ! I'm not sure what has happened to Puckets but WoW !!! At this point I'm really not sure I'll ever go back ! Our family of four dined here Friday night around 7:30pm, when my parents came into town and wanted a fun southern comfort food experience. Since Puckett's Murfreesboro was on our bookmarked list, we decided to all give it a try. We booked through Open Table easily, but were not aware that the live music starting at 8 would require us to pay a $10 cover per head. Despite not knowing till we arrived for our reservation at 7:20, we decided to go ahead and pay the extra $40. Overall, the experience was indeed 3 stars - A-Okay. The menu had a little bit of something for everyone. We started with the BBQ Nachos which was decent, and the Spinach Queso dip, which was the better of the two. Two of us got the Prime Rib special and liked it. One got the southern fried chicken and found it to be a little on the dry side. I got the whiskey chicken, which was tasty, but nothing to write home about. The highlights of the evening were our kind, attentive server, the pecan cobbler dessert (which WAS truly amazing), and the music which ended up being pleasant and worth the cover charge. Overall: The atmosphere was cute, and we enjoyed that there was an opportunity to hear live music in the Boro. The food is decent and the menu selection is good, but nothing we had (other than the pecan cobbler) really made it the most memorable meal of the weekend in terms of flavor. read more

You can tell they the food I received was once great BBQ. Unfortunately, the brisket and pulled pork were both poorly held and reheated. Puckets in Mboro is one really cool restaraunt. I love the interior design and the business model with 2 exceptions. Accumulating about a dozen or so visits i conclude the following- 1- food quality in general is very hit and miss. More often than not, food is delivered slow and Cold rather than quick and fresh out of the kitchen. 2- Attention to detail is suspect, sometimes I would have to ask for something more than once, and many times I had to wait way to long for a wait person just to make a request in the first place. Will may or may not try them one more time- if service has improved i will update my comments and if not, they will stand. Ps On a positive note-The a-joining "Hattie Bs Creamery" is awesome! I came here because I wanted Nashville hot chicken and I was not disappointed.. it was super HOT We also ordered the Mac n cheese for our son and it was quite small he was able to finish it pretty quick and it was over $7. This place was pretty cute! It's down by Murfreesboro square. The restaurant was nice and country feeling, they have live music, and a patio to sit on outside. The servers where super friendly, and the food was pretty good! I got the hot chicken sandwich, which was good, and a glass of Cabernet, which was also decent! I know businesses are doing what they can during COVID, but I've had some really delicious restaurant food during this pandemic. Sadly, it wasn't from Pucketts. Skillet Mac n cheese consisted of bland Mac n cheese on a little lodge cast iron plate that ironically was room temp at best. The food just wasn't special, or seasoned. Salmon and broccoli was nearly 20 bucks and the salmon filet was dry. The one thing that gave this meal any stars was the fried pimento cheese appetizer. That was pretty decent. Our server was fine, we had to ask for plates for our appetizer and refills for our drinks but that's just being nit-picky. I really had higher hopes for a second trip there. I won't be going again and I certainly won't recommend it to my foodie friends. read more

Would like to recommend, but the food I still so bad even after being told they have improved, what is the point. Salad was good, they can put together a good salad. Chicken was dry, mac and cheese on a skillet was tasteless, dry and a bit cold. I can deal with cold, but dry is disgusting, and squash casserole is so simple, so how they can mess it up amazes me, learn to season your food. I simple cannot recommend for business meetings or visitors, gave them too many tries because of business meetings. I will have water if forced to go back. Literally feel forced. I honestly don't see how this chain of restaurants stays in business. I have eaten at several of the local ones and I have never had a meal I could give better than a 1. Today we had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. First: the peas were so salty that I had to drink two glasses of water to eat them. Second: the mashed potatoes looked and tasted like they had been made yesterday. They would have made great potato pancakes but served as they were they were awful. Third: the chicken was the only hot item on my plate and it had great flavor but the gravy that came on it looked and tasted like it was made yesterday. The jalapeño cornbread that came as the bread had a good taste but was cold to the point it would not melt butter. I hate writing bad reviews, but people work had for their money and to waste it on bad food is just wrong. I also believe that you are paying for the name "Puckett" because similar meals with larger portions and better quality can be had locally by non chain restaurants for far lower prices. read more

She deserves the top reward, acknowledgement, or raise that exists in your company. We come often and it is always because of her personality and kindness! We went for breakfast on a Saturday after visiting our Farmer's Market. The service was pretty good, albeit slow. The buffet wasn't something we were interested in, so we both ordered some sort of Benedict (it has been a few weeks and sadly mine was forgettable) Both eggs were cooked hard, and I asked for crispy bacon. They brought me scraps of old hard bacon from somewhere, possibly the bottom of the buffet bacon pan. There is quite a difference between a few strips of crispy bacon and 50 hard crumbly, impossible to eat bits of bacon on your plate. I do remember my husband really liked his pulled pork for his breakfast skillet and the potatoes that were in it. Surprisingly, after reading the reviews here, it was under-seasoned though. We probably won't be back, at least not for breakfast. read more

An aggressive panhandler was bothering diners on the patio and those waiting to be seated and was reported to staff, who did nothing to address it, and 2.)I ordered The Whole Farm plus the a la carte sausage, a $35 meal and they never brought the cole slaw that is supposed to accompany the dish. read more

My past reviews have been of Puckett's in Nashville and Chattanooga. This is of the store in my home town and unfortunately, they earned the lowest rating of the three. Before I get into a review of the food, I must say that the service was great. I had the breakfast buffet, so I can comment on a wide range of menu offerings. Link sausage was served instead of patties. That was a surprise. It was a sweet New England style instead of country variety. The bacon was great, but chewy. Two omelets were offered. There was a Denver and a Pulled Pork. I got the pulled pork and enjoyed it. The eggs were fluffy and there was just enough meat. I got a second serving and hogged the meat so I could try their BBQ sauce. That was fun. Mini muffins were yummy. The first set of utensils in the napkin contained a dirty spoon. Biscuits were my biggest disappointment. They were doughy, not fluffy. Gravy for them was a disappointment, too. I found it thin and lacking of a meaty taste. I like sausage in my gravy for biscuits and this did not cut it. Grits were unimpressive. Fruit felt like it had frozen strawberries. It had canned Mandarin Oranges and I don't know what they did with the kiwi. Coffee was wonderful. Would I go back? I'm not in a hurry to get back there. I've given this location 3 tries, and all three were a bust. Their food is sometimes tasty, if you can get it on your plate. The service is the problem. The kitchen doesnt get out what you order. My husband and I came in on Saturday Sept 17 2022. They were not busy, it was around 445pm. We came in and were immediately seated. Someone got our drinks and order. We sat for an hour and watched others arrive, place their order, and receive their food. And still we sat there with no food, no refills, for an hour. First time at this restaurant, great atmosphere but the service was so slow! We went about three and not too MAny other customers in there but the waitress took forever to take our drink order than our food came about thirty mins after we ordered it. I would say the best part of the experience was the food was delicious and hot so it made up for the delayed service. We will return and hopefully they will be quicker. Well as usual this lace managed to surpass my low expectations. I had already come to the realization that their food would never be to the level they advertise nor to the level for which they charge. On this Valentine's evening, however, they managed to outdo themselves (not in a good way). On this evening they were hosting live entertainment for which they charged a premium price. As part of the ticket price, dinner was included. That would be great except the choices of meals weren't even menu items. My daughter stated that the fried chicken was the driest chicken that she's ever ate.. she also stated neither of her sides (green beans and mashed potatoes) had any flavor. We offered our table near thfor a larger party and took a smaller high top.We completely understood that our server had a party of 9 but after waiting over 15 minutes to ask for a beer and a mixed drink, we gave up and went to the bar ourselves. The server commented on how cool my drink looked but never worried about helping us again. He was all around us and didn't see if we needed more drinks. My usual Puckett's is in Franklin, where I love to go for breakfast and get the Southern Stack. However, when I go late in the day, I always loved the fried green tomatoes. I got them yesterday at the Murfreesboro location, and I was really looking forward to them, and they brought me something unrecognizable. The tomatoes themselves were really greasy and over-fried, but then they were laid in an iron skillet of cheese grease. What has happened, Puckett's? The cheese was terrible on so many levels. It added nothing to the flavor (not like a lovely creamy horseradishy dip on the side of lightly fried green tomatoes). And the puddle of cheese oil on top of everything was not appetizing at all. I don't know if this was a change at all the Puckett's or just at the one in Murfreesboro. Regardless, please go back to the way you used to make the fried green tomatoes!! read more

A long wait on a cold sidewalk, bad service. I had the Mojo burger, it lost it's mojo; no flavor. The fries were ordinary, at best. We had four in our party and were crowded at our table. We also had the nachos as an appetizer, they were not loaded with much, as far as toppings go. I kept having to ask for refills on my drink, while there were 4 or 5 hostesses hanging out at the front desk. Where's a manager? Don't waste your time, money or appetite. read more
