Great selection of draught brewskies including a tasty house lager. Right next door, perfect for after dinner, is Hattie Jane's homemade ice cream. Can also be served at your table at extra cost. I absolutely hate giving one of our favorite places a negative review. The food and servers are top notch. It's the kitchen!! They are SO SLOW now!!! Beer was good, the sides were good, but the brisket I had was dry and required a knife to cut through. I recommend any of the sides - I had the Cole slaw, Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries. The fried pickles and ranch were also a tasty appetizer. If you go, I recommend skipping the brisket. However, my sister ate the fried catfish and that was very delicious. I really enjoyed Puckett's here in the Boro. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is great, and the food is amazing. I had the mojo burger: a beef patty with brisket, slaw, pickles, and BBQ beans. My friend had the shrimp and grits and said that it rivaled Paula Dean's which we had and loved in Savannah, Ga. I also enjoyed the decor: there was a lot of "old time country" signage and memorabilia that made you feel nostalgic and gave the place a fun but clean, not cluttered look. It was a great place to take the kiddos without worrying that if they were loud it would disrupt others. Nestled right on the square, it was jam packed with a lot of the downtown staff from near by law offices and other businesses. They even have a stage for live music performances in the evenings, which I'm sure is fun. If you come down and check them out, make sure you save room for desert. They have some wonderful offerings. Went for breakfast this morning. Not terribly crowded. Server came right over and was friendly. We waited about 20 minutes after we ordered. Server came back and said just a couple tickets ahead of you. We said no worries. 15 minutes later server came back and said "there are 4 tickets ahead of you. Sorry we had a lot of online orders so they are backed up". We waited another 10 minutes. No food. I told her we are just going to go. What do we owe you for the cokes. She said $6.00. Below average at best. I've eaten various things from this establishment, the only word I can use to describe the taste, presentation, & overall experience is mid. This time, I ordered the Smoked Brisket hash. What a complete let down. First off, you ask anybody in the south what eggs scrambled with cheese is, it usually means the eggs are cooked scrambled with the cheese IN them, not scrambled then the cheese just thrown ON TOP of the eggs. Next, the brisket was beyond mediocre and had practically no flavor. Had a texture that made you wonder if it had been smoked a week prior. The plates are always prepared as if the cooks don't care and/or they are newbies to a kitchen. You could order an omelette, and it will be sprawled out all over the plate, not neat and folded with the ingredients INSIDE as it should be. Puckets... well i will say this. You have the possibility to get some of the best food in town. food that's truly amazing! But the issue is, you don't really know which night of the week you're going to get it. Sort of like rolling the dice. Some nights the foods good sometimes it's edible. My wife and i used to frequent Puckets, and last night we gave it another chance. Well after $85 of a an entree, dessert and a coke the service was phenomenal, aside from the server forgetting that i ordered a drink. We still left the server a good tip. Now for the food. I ordered a steak to be cooked medium rare it came out medium well, but medium rare in a couple of random parts, like they used a weighted iron. The Mac n cheese tasted like milk and noodles with a hint of cheese. The dessert was good. My wife's food was mediocre as well. I asked her if she'd be embarrassed if i gave the server my honest opinion and she said she would be. So rather i choose this route. Music and ambiance was great. But Puckets need some quality control because their food is consistently inconsistent. read more

The service (while very busy as it was Sunday lunch) was very good. The hostess and waitress were kind and the atmosphere really is nicely done. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. I might not go around making everyone I know try this place, but we left full and happy. The brisket was surprisingly good and I really enjoyed the smoked sausage. The fruit blackberry tea was great (though I recommend you get it with unsweetened or 1/2 sweet tea as the blackberry fruit syrup they add to it is very sweet). Worst meal and service ever at any Puckett's . Have eaten in Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga locations in the past. We never got our meal. Everyone else in our group was served. The waitress brought us the wrong order , then after a long wait said it would be 15 more minutes. Others were finished . The hamburger served to a member of our party was raw in the middle and he couldn't finish. Another one had the Music City Hot Sandwich and it was served on cold bread . We came to Puckett's for a lunch and after having been to their Nashville location I knew I would enjoy it. My mom was visiting from out of town and always requests barbecue to eat when she comes. My boyfriend had also never been and this was his first time. We ordered: -Pulled pork sandwich with baked beans as the side -Redneck burrito (pulled pork, coleslaw and baked beans inside a tortilla) with a side of french fries -Fried green tomato BLT with a side of sweet potato fries I really enjoyed my BLT but I really wish I had added pimento cheese on it (menu says you can add an egg or cheese for small price). Although it was great this would have elevated it even more--next time this is a must! The sweet potato fries were good but needed to be just a tad crispier. My mom and boyfriend enjoyed their food and said it was good. The decor in Puckett's is just so fun! There are vintage signs hanging all over including local companies and events, for example the air show in Smyrna. The bathroom has a very fun display over the sinks in both the men's (I was told) and the women's (I saw) so it is worth a trip in there to wash your hands. Service was great and we did not wait long at all for our food. They have a stage for live entertainment so I would like to come back sometime when that is happening. So I've actually taken some time before writing this review. I've been here 3-4 times typically on the weekend. They do have a tasty breakfast buffet that stays well stocked. They also have a great selection of options from the menu. I don't recall ever being disappointed with the food quality whether I had buffet or off the menu. The portions sizes are more than enough to fill your tummy and not break the bank. On Saturday around lunch they have had some live music from who appeared to be local artists but very good performers. Seating is pretty tight but there is patio seating which may offer more room when the weather is nice. They don't have over the top customer service but it is not horrible. I don't recommend it for large crowds (more than 8) because of the limited floor space. Great for after church on Sunday or after enjoying the Main Street Farmer's Market during the warm months. If you are not sure what to try, I do recommend the brisket sandwich or breakfast burrito. If you are there in time for breakfast, go for the buffet to try several options for about $13 read more

We were 100% satisfied with our breakfast at Puckett's in Murfreesboro. I look forward to going back for lunch or supper sometime soon--I know there are other Puckett's locations nearby also, which I would jump at the chance to visit. I ordered the southern platter, while my daughter opted for the skillet cinnamon roll. Their coffee was good while we waited for the food....not all that strong, but still good. My southern platter would have been plenty for the two of us to share! The chicken breast was crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the biscuit was fresh and flaky. Sausage gravy in a bowl was perfect for dipping both chicken and biscuit. The side of fried taters and peppers was especially good but needed a sprinkle of salt. My eggs were perfect and hot. The skillet cinnamon roll was a work of art. Gooey in the center but not raw....piping hot...perfect mix of sweet icing and cinnamon filling.
