We were sat in a room off the main dining room. Felt like we were an after thought. Waitress came to the table and as we started to order she asked if she could come right back as she had a lot of orders to put in. When she came back we felt rushed since this was our first time we had questions, instead of listening to the whole question she cut us off with what she assumed was the answer we wanted, as we tried to discuss what we wanted she jumped in so we settled. Our appetizer came and our food 30 seconds later. We asked for extra cocktail and roumalde sauce and were charged for them, normally I am ok with that but we got the Crash Landing which is 1 lb peel and eat shrimp, 2 crab cakes and about 1 lb of mahi nuggets, it came with a small plastic container of roumalde and 1 of cocktail and one of tartar sauce (not enough for 2 people with all that food). The waitress came back 2 times during our 1 hour visit. Food was ok, crab cakes were over cooked and not seasoned well. The mahi was excellent and the shrimp were good size. read more

While the food was good I was turned off by a .50 cent charge for tartar sauce. I ordered the Fried Shrimp which came with cocktail sauce. I prefer tartar so I asked for and received a small cup. When I saw I was charged .50 cents was I kind of surprised. The money is obviously not the issue but I have never been to any restaurant where I was charged for a condiment. read more

We ate there one afternoon for lunch. The view was very nice. The asian salad wife and I split. Very good. She had the bean burger which she really loved. Split an order of fries which were great. The server was great, people very nice. Over all we would go back. Only complaint was it was very hot outside that day of course but the inside was stuffy and warm as well. We had just gotten off the Polar Express ride, and Puddle Jumpers is just a few feet from the car in which we were traveling. We are not locals, but the hunger was overpowering our will, so we just gave it a shot and were pleasantly surprised. The place is medium size, but big enough to comfortable sit out party of 12. Mind you, the dining area was empty so we would've fit regardless. The service was fast and courteous, and the food came out fairly quickly. We had the buffalo wings, fish and chips, and the crab stuffed Mahi with shrimp. Everything was perfectly cooked to order. The wings were hot and spicy, the fish (on the chips) was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, the house made chips were crispy and well seasoned, and the crab stuffed Mahi was on point. I believe there was an error on the order for someone else on our group, but whatever it was, appeared to have been rectified fairly quickly. Within several minutes of noticing there was an issue, the correct order was coming out of the kitchen. As stated, we are not from the area, so we will not be frequenting this establishment, but anytime we're back, you can count us in. read more

Tried this place for dinner tonight- very close to the hotel. Was a little worried at first because we got there about 50 minutes before closing and the server reminded us of this at least 3 times. But once we were seated and ordered it was very quick. Had the crab cake dinner which was really good. Crab cakes were lightly breaded and fried but also meaty. My mom had the surf and turf and the steak was surprisingly tender. Great for a quick easy dinner. They close early on Sunday (8:00) so give yourself a bit more time to enjoy the atmosphere. Wonderful location on the waterfront in Tavares. In good weather you can watch the sea planes. Two nice parking lots. We enjoyed mahi bites, hamburger, and coconut shrimp. The onion rings were a little greasy but tasty. The pub chips and cole slaw were both good. Our server was attentive and efficient. read more

I've never gotten more frustrated eating at a restaurant! Service started out fine in the beginning with drinks and apps out right away but then came the wait for our food. We probably waited a good 45 mins before 3 out of 5 meals were brought out! 4 meals came out and one was completely wrong and I didn't even get my food so as 3 people in our party ate there food 2 were without for another 20 minutes! When my burger came out 20 mins later there was no bacon on it which I requested and no side of coleslaw! I ordered my burger cooked medium and the whole middle of the burger was under cooked and pink. There was no point in complaining because I wasn't willing to wait another minute here. Our server, who was also the bartender, continuously apologized about the wait but there was no excuse. The lack of service considering how SLOW it was was unacceptable. Our server told us "the manager" apologizes and gave us free dessert and comp'd a portion of our bill. In all honesty the manager should of came up to our table and expressed the reason for the wait. We were visiting from out of town and an experience like this is a real downer. Think twice before eating here. read more

Stopped in on a week night for dinner. There were a couple people at the bar and not many people having dinner. The nightly special was baby back ribs for $13.99. Normally they were like $18 or $19. This restaurant let go of my favorite server because they want to keep the other servers I've seen multiple times be disrespectful definitely lost my business friends and family. Never going here again she was so sweet always catered to us and was a newer younger server. Terrible management. Who hires people just to fire them? LOVED every minute of our experience. There was a bit of a wait but there was a DJ and an outside waiting area. The drinks were strong. Great old fashioned. It was 80s night and all the servers were decked out in 80s attire and the DJ played 80s music videos all night. Karaoke and costume contests were also super fun! Cynthia was our waitress and she was a RIOT! Super high energy, very funny, and perfectly attentive. The wings were also great! I was pleasantly surprised to hear they are NOT breaded ("naked wings" as I call them) which was perfect for my taste (not sure if everyone likes them that way). The onion rings were the best I've ever had - the batter reminded me of a funnel cake, but not sweet. We all got steak with French fries or coleslaw and broccoli. Great service but mediocre food. No flavor what so ever. We had a party of 5 plus one kid. We had four fish and chips with coleslaw, chicken nuggets and a turkey sandwich. Everything was bland. My husband usual eats a ton of coleslaw at other places but he wouldn't even finish his here. It just had mayo & vinegar on cabbage. Fun place on the water in Tavares. It is a little gem with good food and excellent service. The view is so relaxing. It is an area that sea planes take off. It is fun to watch.
