Great food, excellent service, friendly staff, enjoyable 'owl' ambiance... Good portions for the price!

First time here, this place is the most expensive breakfast I've ever had. Otherwise breakfast was pretty good except for the biscuit. It was kind of dry. The one thing I didn't order and I saw on the menu was a $9.36 one pancake. As far as I'm concerned, nurse not a pancake that's worth $9.36.

This place is too cute! Owl stuff everywhere, and most of it for sale. We were in town visiting and this was on my list of food places to try. We came in on a Friday morning around 9 am and didn't have to wait for a table at all. The service was very friendly and quick! I loved that the area we were in, the tables and chairs were all different, some metal, some cushy, all different prints. I loved that look, and we got very comfy chairs! I ordered a large orange juice, which was ok, and my husband got a Bloody Mary in the take-home owl glass. For food, I ordered the french toast, which was pretty basic. The food overall was ok, nothing to really write home about. But the service was great and the atmosphere was really cute. I wouldn't mind swinging by again to try something different if we are ever back in town.

It was a 30 min wait for two when we arrived on a Saturday at 10:30AM. Our food arrived about 30 min after we ordered. The ambiance is interesting. 90s music playing in the background, mismatched furniture, and owl art (which are for sale) adorning the walls. Jonah was a great server, very attentive and friendly! My Corned Beef Hash was DELICIOUS and filling! Owl-be definitely be coming back during my next Flagstaff visit!

This restaurant is tucked in a strip mall but is so cute when you get inside. It's decor is all owl themed and has a very comfortable atmosphere. The server was sweet and very helpful with recommendations. My husband is vegan and this place has a vegan menu which is really nice and convenient for him when ordering. He ordered the vegan burrito and loved it. Raved about the salsa being delicious! I ordered the Grilled Cheese Incident and added bacon. It was good but there wasn't much cheese on the "grilled cheese!" The pesto mayo, bacon and artichoke hearts were yummy but I couldn't taste or find any cheese so that was a little disappointing. One positive I can say is that they have a dog friendly patio, which I love!

We owl had a lovely time for breakfast here! It's a lovely location for toasted owl. No line here and plenty of parking to get seated like the other location!! I live the other location but it usually has a wait and not so much parking! This location is twice as big and is part of a giant parking lot. Kind of a different setup! Follow your gps it's out by the mall. We enjoyed Good food, best breakfast potatoes and perfect cooked bacon. Sunny side up eggs cooked perfect too. Tamales were great w a yummy green salsa! The place was fairly busy at 8am. The 2 darling servers moved around quickly and flawlessly, taking care of all guests and treating everyone special. I just loved servers Matt and MK. They have a really nice wrap around outdoor patio that's all shaded. I saw a dog out there too so that's nice. Check out my adorable coffee mug w an owl. It's so cute and made my coffee better! Owl be back!

Much better experience the second time around. French toast was delicious and all the other breakfast orders also hit the spot for everyone in our group. Service was a little slow but polite. If your not ready to see owls everywhere of all shapes and sizes them I recommend stay away. Not live ones of course just a bunch of pics and figurines. Chill spot when not busy.

We are new to Flagstaff, and looking for places with gluten free options on the menu. Do you have a gluten free menu or gluten free options? Do you use a separate fryer for French fries?

They have gluten free toast, tortillas and many other options.

I've eaten here countless times and I'm never disappointed. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. Their waffles are incredible as are their burritos, skillets, tostadas, and gorditas. Breakfast always comes with a side of whole beans (flavored with ham hock) which are super fresh. I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. I HIGHLY recommend Madrez if you're looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican brunch spot. Support local!

My partner and I ordered a chorizo burrito, a skillet poblano, and a plain waffle. While everything was just okay, it honestly felt like something we could have made better at home. I especially wouldn't recommend the waffles -- they were very airy, almost like toast, and at $14 they just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it's not somewhere I'd return to.

After eating next door for a lunch, we saw the signs all over MartAnne's claiming they are "The…read moreHouse That Chilaquiles Built!" We were intrigued enough that we visited MartAnne's the very next night for dinner. That was on a Tuesday at around 6PM and it wasn't too busy the entire time we were there. House Horchata ($5.99) - This drink comes in a giant 32 oz Ball jar with tons of ice. Per the server it's made with milk and condensed milk, no rice milk at all. It's rich, thick, creamy, sweet, filled with earthy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. There's so much spice included that at some points, there's almost a gritty feeling while drinking. It's perfect for a hot day after hiking. Buckwheat Pancake ala carte ($4.99) - Buckwheat pancakes are something we've never seen before on a diner menu in the past. It seems to be pretty common around Arizona, so we had to give it a try before leaving Flagstaff. This one's pretty big, almost plate sized. It's really moist, fluffy, bouncy, and light with a slight sweetness and a certain earthy flavor. It's moist enough that it sticks to the ceramic plate it's served on. The pancake is somewhat crumbly due to the low gluten content of buckwheat, although I believe they use a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour to give some more stability. It's bluish grey in color with black specks of ground buckwheat throughout. It's dusted with powdered sugar, but it's not a ton, making the pancake not really sweet at all. The pancake comes with a small cup of their cinnamon honey butter. It's not mixed that well, leaving it mostly unhomogenized with streaks of honey and spice through the softened salted butter. Tamale ala carte ($4.99) - MartAnne's offers two types of tamales - the first a red chile beef, and the second a green corn and cheese. We went with the latter, which is a homemade tamale with a somewhat looser, coarsely ground masa shell surrounding an interior of yellow sweet corn kernels, a bouncy and somewhat spongy block of Oaxaca cheese, and a fragrant green chile. There's a slight sweetness throughout and the tamale overall is easy to eat. Chilaquiles, Xmas, Fratelli ($17.99) - This is a monster sized plate of a mishmash of ingredients. There are three things as essentially a base layer. Firstly some Mexican rice that's tender, moist, and fluffy, totally unlike the more common dry and and compact version. My guess is that they skip the initial frying step that helps keeps the starch together. It's quite fragrant and has gives a bit of heat. On top of the rice is a layer of hash browns. The potatoes are tender on the interior, griddled on one side to give a delightful crunch, although there's some acridity that develops. Another third of the plate is covered with chili beans - tender pinto beans that are well salted and seasoned. Then there's the eggs stuffed in between layers of corn tortilla chips, smothered with sauce. I went with the Christmas combination of red and green sauce, followed up by the Fratelli-style pork green chile. The green sauce is fragrant and vegetal, while the red sauce is more smoky. The pork, which is cut into chunks, on top is a bit tough and dry but there's more than enough sauce to make up for that slight demerit. Finally, there's a small mound of I believe jalapeno peppers, cut into small neon-green colored pieces. Some pieces are spicy, some are mild, all have a vegetal pepper taste. I found the food at MartAnne's to be pretty good. It definitely hits the spot after hiking all around the area for most of the day. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Note: MartAnne's charges a 3.5% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu.

The only problem I have with it is that on a recent trip through town I made a point of stopping here with my dog, both their yelp listing and Apple maps listing have them down as dog friendly. I was turned away at the door because they do not allow dogs.

There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is especially impressive. They have what looked like a private dining space inside a barn-style shed, several gas fire pits, and even a slightly elevated platform that looked perfect for live music. Ordering is simple -- you place both food and drink orders at the counter, then they bring everything out to your table. Even though the place was busy, the food came out fast and piping hot. The food itself was outstanding. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and my wife got the chilaquiles. Both portions were huge. The chicken and biscuits were exactly what I was hoping for: smothered in rich country gravy with a perfectly fried flattened chicken breast that was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The buttermilk biscuit was golden, flaky, buttery, and had the perfect balance of soft interior and crisp edges. I honestly got full halfway through my plate and never even got a chance to try the wife's chilaquiles. The drip coffee was excellent too -- simple, hot, and exactly what good breakfast coffee should be. There's street parking along with a small parking lot across the street. We also ordered their green chile pork + egg plate that came with diced onions and potatoes. Asked for the eggs to be over medium and they came out over hard.
