    Spaghetti Bolognese
    Carlos P.

Puerto Madero has been a staple Argentine restaurant around the corner of my house now for a couple of decades. In all the years I've lived here I've never ventured in because I've never had a good experience at an Argentine 'steak house' in Miami. However, that's not to say all Argentinian steak houses aren't good - similarly, Miami is full of Cuban restaurants (I'm Cuban) and I've lived in here for 30 something years and there's ONLY A SINGULAR Cuban restaurant that I think is decent enough to bear the title of Cuban cuisine, and that's Islas Canarias (the restaurant, not the bakery), and again, Miami is LITTERED with Cuban restaurants. So, it's just difficult to find good genuine restaurants even when you are all over the place. Back to Argentinian steak houses, odds are stacked against restaurants with a cuisine that's only found in a handful of places (by comparison). Having said this, and I know it's unfair because 'steaks and churrasquearía' are these type of restaurant's main dish, I steered away from them - also, given this new inflated prices world we are living in, I found their meat dish prices a bit stratospheric for the type of restaurant they are in a Kendall corner shopping center - inflated prices are a gripe of mine because I feel going out to a restaurant nowadays feels like taking a car to the mechanic - they want to make their quota with you. Anywho, while it may be unfair that I didn't try their meat dishes, and maybe they would have been SOOO delicious they would have warranted the high prices, in my case, I've only experienced otherwise, so I stayed away. Apologies for the LONG backdrop, but finally on to my actual experience: we ordered the spaghetti bolognese and the spaghetti carbonara. I first asked waiter for his recommendation among these and he said they both 'sold well', but that he wasn't a fan of red sauce (In the US, neither am I - vs in Italy where it's otherworldly) so I opted for the carbonara. At $20 each dish, prices were def reasonable. It's worth mentioning that as typical with many pasta places, you can order any pasta type of your preference and add the sauce of your liking - these two were the only sauce options with any kind of protein included. Otherwise, protein is an extra cost as it has become the norm at most Italian restaurants - sometimes costing as much as the pasta itself LOL. My friend also ordered a Caesar 'side' salad, but was advised they only had full size salads, so we got a full size Caesar. Caesar arrived WAYYY first, even though it was intended to be a side - remember we asked as a side? ‍ It was basic, neither great nor bad - I'd rate it a solid 3 out of 5. Dressing had an after-taste pointing to something store-bought. Pastas took a minute - they took so long that when they eventually arrived I even asked waiter if he had been waiting for us to be done w the salad in order to bring out the pastas, but he advised that wasn't the case. BTW, both pasta portions were bountiful. Unfortunately, my carbonara had almost no flavor while my friend's bolognese had WAY more flavor and plenty of meat; it's worth noting that the bolognese sauce tasted store-bought as well (my friend thought the same) where maybe store sauce was used as a base and then it was fine-tuned by adding some spices and simmering before serving. There was definitely an 'after taste' for me to both the red sauce and the Caesar dressing. So my carbonara was so lacking in flavor and oily-tasting that I ended up sending it back, specially since my friend eats very little and she was largely full after having eaten 1/2 of a full Caesar salad - there was no point to have my pasta exchanged for another bolognese. Which BTW, when we asked for extra cheese, we got one of those run-of-the-mill cheese shaker bottle like the one you'd get at a budget pizza-by-the-slice shop - not cool. Service was decent. We did have to fetch waiter in more than one occasion though. When it came to desserts, they only have 2 options on the dinner menu (molten fudge cake and dulce de leche pancakes). However, being that place also a bakery, they have a WIDE selection of cakes and pastries in the displays that you can have brought to the table; However, you have to get up and figure out what you'd want for yourself first. I asked about chocolate cake and was told it was like a lava cake, but when I asked if the fudge was truly molten and if it'd ooze out, I was told no. That was all I needed to hear to know it'd likely be disappointing too. I looked at the pastries on display, but have been to plenty of these bakeries (and friends HAVE brought me pastries from this exact place before) to know they usually look better than they taste, so I opted to wrap up and leave. PS: I forgot to take pictures of the menus (the ones here are decades old), but this restaurant should really be more of a $$$ sign and a $$ restaurant.

Awesomeness! Food is delicious yet pricey! I love PM for breakfast also! Their staff is so attentive and very professional! They sing the Feliz Cumpleaños song if you're celebrating your birthday. Their dessert platter is to die for! The red sangria...omaigah...don't get me started! It's simply delicious and made fresh!

When you think Kendall what comes to mind? We'll after discovering this wonderfully delicious restaurant, I bet you might rethink coming to the 'burbs! Located in the shopping center on 127th Ave. in Kendall next to an Aldi is a truly delicious culinary experience. Service was absolutely fantastic super attentive. The vibe was relaxed, laidback. There's so many different types of baked goods and desserts for you to see and salivate. My son and I ordered an entraña and a vacío steak. They both were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. Mine came with a side of homemade mashed potatoes(you could tell)! And added grilled onions OMG. Magnificent. And we both had some fresh juices. Only down side is the price but for what we ordered it was reasonable. Highly recommend it!

There is good food for all tastes here.

@annainthe305 This place is a carnivore's dream. Some of the best steaks in Miami can be found here. The best deal is the parrillada, which brings a pile of different meats on a hot grill. My guests described the meat as some of the most juicy and tender they have ever tasted. However, I do not eat red meat. So, I opted for the swai with shrimp. I had never tried it before and was delighted by the light flavor of this white fish. They also offer a full range of desserts. They have enormous slices of delicious cake. Or, if you just want a small taste of something sweet, there are also plenty of bite-sized options like the rolladito filled with dulce de leche. Yum! There is something to satisfy all tastes here.

You just pay for the meat. The meat is very very tender. They also have lunch specials but we haven't tried it. Their salad is very good and they have three different kinds. They serve it with rice, couscous, mash potatoes, 5-6 different types of sauces. You can always ask for more sides without any extra charge. The only issue I felt was that no matter what meat you get, the taste is the same. I mean yes lamb VS beef is different but like beef ribs and beef flanges taste the same. Wish they had different flavors on the meat. But over all great experience.

The waitress came and explained us how the menu worked. You order smoked meats by the pound - different lamb and beef cuts - and all the sides are all you can eat. We ordered briskett and lamb ribs. The sides included spiced rice, couscous drenched in an oily red peper paste, israeli couscous dyed purple, cucumber tomato salad, yogurt, arugula salad, something they called tropical salad, and mashed potatoes. The sides were hit and miss, the couscous and rice, as well as the tropical salad, were very good. All the others were mostly forgettable. The meats were room temperature, completely unseasoned and saltless, and very dry. You really had to pack them up with salt and the different sauces they offered so they would be edible. Interestingly, I was charged extra for the bone-in lamb ribs, apparently because "this is the way it works". All and all an interesting experience, too bad the stars of the show, the smoked meats, were less then stellar.

The churrasco, the ribeye, the chicken breast, the chorizo... all of it has been stellar. I have never had a single issue with ordering, or picking up. As a matter of fact, even when I have made errors when placing my order, they are quick to resolve my issue and help me out. I placed an order for delivery for what I presume to be one of their busiest days (New Year's Eve). I needed to change the order to pickup and change the date of pickup from the 31st to the 30th. They made the changes for me without issue, or grievance. Personally, raw meat gives me the major ick. My OCD goes into panic mode when I have to handle the meat. I even use gloves (wish I didn't, but maybe I'll work on that in therapy). Point of the matter is that I have gone to several butcher shops in town in an effort to find better quality meat. They have all grossed me out. Josh's is pristinely clean. I feel zero anxiety walking in, or out with meat. Whenever you go pickup in store, Josh's mom, or dad are at the register. It makes me so happy to know I am supporting a small Miami family business. I love this place so much that not only do I frequently purchase their meat for my family, we give out gift cards constantly because I can trust that the recipient will have an unforgettable experience as well. You can't go wrong with this place. Truly, the meat and experience is worth every penny.

We tried to order their award-winning fish dip, listed on the specials board, but the waitress said they were out of chips. Ok, fine -- we said "forget it" and moved onto the main course. We all ordered some variation of the Fancy Nancy, their namesake burger. It was a good burger but not the best in Florida. Not even close. The fries were frozen and nothing to write home about. Others in our party ordered the "award-winning" potato salad, which tasted pretty good. As an aside, I ordered my burger medium well, and it was cooked as desired. Everyone else ordered their burger medium and two were very pink, more like medium rare or rare. It seems like most of their awards and accolades were earned pre-COVID.
