When I say everything was good, I mean just that!! That empanada reminded me of something my abuela would make and that mangu just tasted like HOME. I just resumed their service after a…read morebreak and, reminded of what great food and service they provide, decided to finally write a long overdue review. I had tried 3 or 4 other food services several years ago and each had their issues/drawbacks (one in particular was very problematic). Once I tried Z.E.N., I've never looked back. The food is fresh, healthy, and for the most part truly delicious! (which was not the case with some of the other services I used). The other great thing is that the menu is entirely customizable: they have their specials of the day for each meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner -- plus snacks and dessert if you go with that particular plan). But if a daily special doesn't appeal to you when you check the weekly menu in your online portal, there is an array of other choices you can make to substitute -- usually several to a dozen or so. I'm kind of a picky eater so I typically wind up substituting 1/3rd to half of the selections, depending. You are also allowed 3 "dislikes" that they will automatically substitute if in their daily specials. Anyway, the customer service is great and the drivers discreet. It may depend on location, but I typically receive my daily delivery between 5pm-7pm every day (meals for the next day). The food is in a zip-tie sealed container for safety, and on several ice packs to stay fresh if you aren't home or otherwise unable to retrieve it immediately; they leave it in the safe spot on my porch where I've indicated. The other thing that's customizable is the delivery schedule: I'm in and out of town a bit, so I month's worth of food deliveries might last 2 or 3 months depending on how I need to space it out (e.g., I typically don't have food delivered on weekends, or if I'm away for a week or two I just put the service on pause for those days -- again, all super easy to adjust in the online portal). And yes, every time I use the service I do lose a few pounds. Highest marks from me, I can't recommend it more highly for anyone who either wants to lose weight, take a break from cooking, or simply want to reset and eat more healthy. The pricing seems fair to me, especially since I'm not spending nearly as much at the grocery store while I'm on the plan.

From what I can find out, there are 2 locations here, in LA on Melrose Blvd and North Hollywood. Upon arriving at the North Hollywood location (which is closest to me), there is no identifying markings outside that this is Milk Bar. Just signs about Doordash pickup. I went to the door and asked if this was Milk Bar, the the guy inside said yes, but this is only a Doordash pickup location. So, standing outside in the rain, I had to load up the Doordash app, create a account and place a pickup order for what I wanted at the Milk Bar! Upon getting back in my car, I took a look at my "yummy" purchases.... Each one is individually wrapped, like you would find on the shelve at any fast convenience store or gas station. On the back of the wrapper, it says it was distributed from New York. From the television show, I thought I was getting fresh made desserts, not pre- packaged mass-produced frozen food items! This business should clearly identify as a Doordash only pickup location.
