Great staff, very helpful even if you're just first starting out and not an aficionado. As I am I can't say much about the prices but the selection is VAST! I'll be back again to explore more once I'm acquainted with what I brought home. The upstairs lounge is a nice added touch. Nice little spot. Decent sized humidor. Friendly cashier. They didn't really offer any help selecting a cigar(i didn't need it) they didn't offer to cut or light the cigar i purchased. I was in Reno a few weeks ago and I know one of the cigar lounges I visit there is closed on Sunday's so I decided to give Fumare's a try. Walking in the place I was taken back by the size and the new age look of the lounge. When I walked into their humidor, I had to step back again. I've never seen such a wide range of cigars in one place. After selecting a few choice smokes, my buddy and I sat down to unwind and enjoy some man-time together. When I finally got around to looking at my watch to check the time, I noticed I had been enjoying myself for over four hours. After having my first cigar in Vegas a few weeks ago, I was visiting Reno and wanted to see if there were any highly-rated cigar shops in the area. Fumare was at the top of the Yelp search results and was close by to my hotel, the Atlantis, a win-win. They close a bit on the early side (7pm), so I didn't make it that same day but rather the following day. The shop is right off Virginia Street and located in a nice little shopping plaza that can be missed if you don't know what you're looking for. I made my way inside and was almost immediately greeted by what I presume to be the owner. The shop is spacious and has a lounge area, a coffee bar, and plenty of glass casing displaying some of the higher end pieces. I browsed around before making my way into the humidor and the store has a little bit of everything including shaving accessories. As I made my way into the humidor, the owner asked if I needed any assistance and I politely declined and said I was browsing. As I walked in, the smell immediately wafts towards you and is just as impressive as the large collection of cigars Fumare offers. I browsed on my own for about 10 minutes just taking in everything and let me tell you, it's one serious collection, even bigger than what I saw at a shop in Vegas at the Forum Shops in Caesars Palace. After exploring on my own, I called for assistance and let the owner know I was new to cigars and what I was looking for. He gave me plenty of suggestions, I believe 4 or 5 recommendations and I ultimately went with 2 of his suggestions, a Davidoff 2000 and a Romeo Y Julieta. All said and done, I paid a little over $20 for both cigars. Fumare is a great little boutique shop in Reno. The selection is incredible, the help is genuine and comes from an owner who truly loves the art of cigars, and not only takes pride in what he does but in his small business. In my opinion, the lounge could be expanded because there was some under-utilized space, but other than that, it's an impressive shop he has. As for his recommendations, the Davidoff was much better than my first cigar in Vegas, and I even had a person on the slots next to me ask where I purchased my delicious smelling cigar. The salesman behind the counter admitted us into his humidor and I was greatly impressed with the selection offered and the well-stocked humidor...He offered us Expresso while we perused his selections. I'm a lover of Sumatran wrapper cigars and was also happy to find my cigar of the day, as well as Drew Estate Acid cigars that were as fresh as the day they left the factory. This is a classy, cozy lounge is great for both connoisseurs and new smokers alike. On my first visit a few years ago, the lounge was packed and I had people showing me around and suggesting flavors and brands. That's when I fell in love with cigars. However, I didn't come back until recently and fell in love with this lounge itself. The selection of cigars they have is outstanding! The variety in price, quality, flavor, brands, etc. There's truly something there for everyone! The best part is that there are ratings and flavor profiles available for them so you can make the best choice for you. I have yet to have a bad cigar from here. Robert is incredibly helpful! He is very willing to answer all questions and is very knowledgable about the selections available. He made us feel very at home and showed us around the lounge and how to use their cutters and lighters. They also have a selection of tobaccos and pipes along the wall. I haven't tried any tobaccos, but they have some interesting sounding flavors as well. For example, rum and maple, nougat, and vanilla bean. Based off the experience I've had here, I assume that the quality is wonderful as well. Fumare also sells cigar boxes, cutters, lighters, and everything else related. It's a one stop shop for anything you could need. The lounge area is well ventilated and doesn't feel smoky. It has that lovely cigar smell but it's not overpowering. It has always been very tidy. They have a bar seating area for coffee and waters. Not just any coffees, Nespresso coffees, of course. There are many nice couches in the cozy lounge area. It makes for a very social experience because you can sit near strangers and get to know them if you want, or just enjoy your company in your own section. If you're new, don't be intimidated! Fumare is a great cigar shop and it is just a few miles aways from the downtown casinos. Their humidor is always well stocked with the best non-Cuban cigars available with a good selection of VSG's, Padron Anniversary lines, Davidoff Millenniums, etc. Fumare's owner Dion Giolito is also the creator of the Illusione, Cruzado and Epernay cigar marcas which are some of the best newer cigars to hit the market in a long while. If you have the chance try either the excellent Illusione hl lancero or the cg4 corona gorda. Fumare also has a very good selection of medium to higher end cigar accessories and a very knowledgable cigar smoking staff. There is nothing worse than having ignorant staff at a great cigar shop. The new location for Fumare is fantastic. You walk in and are embraced by opulence from the stone work for the floor, the beautiful movie / noir posters hanging about, and the beauty of the leather couches. In Fumare's previous location, they had a finely stocked humidor with a vast selection. I was stunned and awed by their new humidor encased behind a heavy glass door. It's twice, nay three times, the size of the previous humidor with even more of a selection! What ever flavor your mouth craves for, from Acid to Opus to Zino, can be found within these humid walls. Even the rare, coveted God of Fire. Fumare's own blend, the Illusione, is a fantastically tasty puro. The first five released were great and I look forward to having the newer additions to the Illisione series that have been added. They still have their big pipe selection which would make Sherlock stop and gander. As well as a healthy amount of pipe tobacco of which to enjoy in said pipes. Accessories, why yes? They've plenty. My favorite: the Victorinox Swiss Army knife - cigar style. My only two gripes about Fumare are: 1) their costs (but to be expected for the quality of the puros sold there, 2) the $10 minimum buy in to utilize their lounge. Now, granted that one could buy one cigar and exceed this amount, but buying a CAO Mx2 will leave you at $8 with no seat to lounge in. Pity. That being said, I truly enjoyed my experience in Fumare and will continue to do so next time. read more

The lounge is large, comfortable and tastefully decorated.The humidor is large and well stocked with an amazing variety. The first thing I noticed was how gracious and friendly Robert the steward of the shop was. The second thing I noticed was the odd odor of the humidor, it wasn't off putting, just familiar, it smelled like the moist wood-chips of a hamster cage. It was all over when I saw the prices, being from California and having to deal with ridiculous taxes, it was like entering tobacco heaven. All my favorite brads but now they were affordability priced, they even had the much sought after Davidoff. In a word, I was impressed. The lounge on the other-hand could use a little work. The seating was sparse and uncomfortable, they seemed to sacrifice comfort for style. The couches need to be larger as do most of the chairs. And I'm a believer in lounges being for great conversation, I could do without the music or the T.V. option and maybe more seats. read more

I am a VERY RARE yelp reviewer...I use the reviews a lot, but rarely do I have an experience that makes me want to write a review. FUMARE is one of those experiences that simply needed to be shared. Having just arrived in Reno for 2 days on business, I went out for a cup of espresso at the Human Bean about 1 minute away, and found this gem of a lounge/store/cigar aficionado heaven through sheer dumb luck i.e. random yelping! Dion, the owner of Fumare introduced me to a different side of a world I have dabbled in the past few years, and showed me what I was missing. Not only was he extremely affable, easy going and knowledgeable (this man knows his cigars!), he was infinitely patient, and even though I only bought one of his house brand Toros that I wanted to sample, he let me enjoy his company and his lounge for a couple of hours...in which I learnt more about cigars than I have in the past 3 years. I walked out with a 10 pack of his home-brand cigars made by either his Honduran or Nicaraguan manufacturer for his specific blend, and with the biggest grin on my face. No pressure sale, the man genuinely enjoys his hobby and now burgeoning business, and we talked about not just cigars, but everything under the sun, which made the experience of the cigar even better. The store itself is mind boggling in not just the variety and magnitude of inventory he carries, but also the decor, the accessories and the fact that he serves Nespresso Espresso there! If you enjoy your cigars, or just a great conversation about them, make sure you visit Fumare's if you come through or live in Reno. I will only hope that Dion opens some franchises out East so I don't have to travel the breadth of the country for a breath of the finest cigars... ! read more

The guy with the long beard(I don't know his name) let me in anyways and was very nice and showed me around the incredible walk-in humidor. I love this place. The autmosphere is wonderful. I read a below post that it is expected that you spend 10.00 or cannot use the lounge. This has never happened to me when I got there with my husband. I buy a vanilla cigar they have (cannot think of the name) but it is the smoothest I have ever had and can only be bought there. Now my husband brings his pipe in a smokes that and i get that particular cigar and it runs approx 3.60. We sit in there sometimes for hours conversing and meeting new people that come in and have never been told otherwise. Every person that walks in there door is very friendly and conversations are always great and the staff is awesome. They have great coffee but bring your own cream. LOL. If you enjoy cigars, and you manage to travel to Reno, you need to go here before you waste your time with some Casino or Concert, they aren't HALF the event that visiting this shop is! Every brand of rare and limited edition cigar that you have every read about or wanted to try? 95% chance you will see it on the shelves at Fumare, OpusX, Padron, AvoLE, and on and on and on.. The prices seem incredibly reasonable to me (of course there are so many kinds that I have wanted to try that I have never seen in person, I end up buying way more than I intend every time.) This shop is fantastic. I was in Reno for a concert with the owner of Fatman Cigars and this was somewhere he had spoken highly of. We both smoked Illusione cigars and relaxed. They have fantastic humidor that is the envy of many other shops. The decor is great and they offer small and inexpensive coffee drinks. There is no TV to interrupt the conversations or your reading.
