Finding a dentist is awful! Luckily, I met Dr. Priyanka Patel on a personal outing. I did not know what she did but her SMILE and her TEETH were incredible. She said, "Thanks! I'm a dentist." I tried a few dentists in my area but was completely dissatisfied. I came across YELP reviews for Dr Patel and I could not find ANYONE with higher scores! My first intro was her front desk manager, Valerie! LOVE HER! So on TOP of it ALL! I've been back several times for two teeth implants (outstanding after a couple of adjustments- one more to go), cleanings, Botox shots for jaw clenching (I hate needles and she gives shots like it never happened. She's kind, courteous, caring, smart, did not try to oversell a cracked tooth, said perfect for an "inlay" and it will be less expensive! Come on, now! She's the cream of the crop as is her staff and her high tech office which is just so cool and helps her to create perfect teeth! There are a lot of stairs to her office. Plz keep that in mind if that is an issue. read more

Dr. Patel is not gentle on your teeth. We went because it is close by to our home. My husband refused to come back to her practice. Had my onlay done by her partner dentist 2 years ago. Week 1, I voiced my concern that I had a large amount of food collected, and I had to floss each meal. The onlay created a pocket. They claimed that it was fine until 6 months ago, I had a cavity in the same area. I was not happy that they did not own to any of their mistakes. Had to redo with a crown, and paid another $632.20 remaining balance, supposedly after my insurance. Several weeks later, they billed me another $335 because my insurance said the work duration for the same tooth is too short. I fought that for months with Rooted lack of experience and careless admin. Rooted people didn't do insurance checks/homework and dental service was their mistake. They don't care. Today, they insisted that I pay 50% of $335. Seriously? They chose to collect $167.50 and lost 5 patients, our family, instead. Don't use them. When thing goes wrong, Rooted Dental will not own up. read more

Avoid and READ your bill - they've removed charges after I pointed them out on my bill. And DO NOT do Invisalign here. They told me 6months, I had Invisalign for nearly 3 years and it never corrected my teeth in the way they promised. At one appointment the "curing light" was held too long and it made my gums so sensitive to temps for 3+ months I couldn't eat food unless it was room temperature. At the end of the day, they're just careless. They took no accountability for anything - the pain, the extra 2.5 hrs of Invisalign, the incredibly disappointing results.... There's so many dentist options in the city, there's no reason to waste your time here. Now that I've accepted the Invisalign was a total scam and waste of three years I'm happily never returning to this place!!! read more

I cannot recommend rooted dental enough! Dr.Patel and staff are attentive and timely, as well as very good at their jobs! I found rooted after relocating to Chicago, and they helped me with Invisalign and crowns over the course of 10 months, as well as regular tooth cleaning. The process was smooth and I was impressed with the modern technology at the office (3D scans, etc) that made the visit more comfortable. Disclaimer: this isn't about the actual dentistry, more about the service. I scheduled an appointment after being contacted via LinkedIn - kind of an odd place for a dental solicitation but, needed a new provider and the timing seemed to be ideal. However, after scheduling I was subjected to so many contacts from the office - I felt like I was being robocalled or tele-marketed to. Emails, phone calls, text messages, LinkedIn messages - that's overkill and eventually prompted me to cancel as what starts out bad typically progresses to worse. Life lesson applied! I realize documentation, new patient info, etc is needed especially during COVID BUT, I filled it out online. The business' response to their technology not working correctly should not be to badger me through all forms of communication to fill out a form. Just wait until I arrive and let's handle it then, I have other things going on and don't need to be hassled by a dental provider - one I haven't even had an initial appt with to boot. Find a healthy balance of communication - for some folks, I'm sure they appreciate it. For others (like myself) you lost a patient before you even got the opportunity to demonstrate the real value: dental care. read more

I love Rooted Dental Care and highly recommend this place if you live in Lincoln Park. I still go here even after moving from LP... I would rather go here than the multiple dentists that are much closer due to how awesome Dr Patel is. I started seeing Dr. Patel after she took over the location from the former dentist. I love all of the staff, the office is super cute and welcoming. She has an awesome practice overall. I have always been very self conscious of my smile and going to the dentist used to be one of my least favorite activities. Since seeing Dr. Patel, I love my smile! I'm such a baby when it comes to going to the dentist. I always get such anxiety but the Rooted Dental office experience was great. Each step was explained to me fully so I knew what was going on and future steps were easily planned out all in one cleaning. Insurance was setup and detailed out so the second the appointment was over I was on my way without worrying about payment. DENTAL FRAUD ALERT. I went to see Dr Patel a few months ago as a regular checkup - i was not in any pain before seeing her. She diagnosed me with SEVEN cavities. I asked what the downside was to filling cavities and she said NONE. She assured me that there were no risks. So I went ahead and filled them all in one sitting. She was constantly distracted while filling them- even looking up and away from my mouth to talk to her staff. I had severe pain and sensitivity for the next 3 weeks and had to go back twice for her to grind down the fillings that were too high (basically cleaning up her messy work). A month more goes by and I still have severe pain so I travelled all the way back to my long time family dentist. He told me I only should have had ONE cavity filled - the rest did not show decay to be classified as cavities. Each cavity she filled, she drilled a much bigger hole than necessary. And now, I need a ROOT CANAL to fix the damage she caused. To my fellow millennials- the renovated office and TVs playing friends does NOT make up for what Dr Patel lacks in integrity and skill. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER IN DR PATELS HANDS. I have never regretted any decision more in my life. read more

I had a wonderful hygienist, Kelly, who made my first experience incredible. I suffer from dental anxiety and Kelly legitimately soothed my fears and provided dental care information that I still follow to this day (which has worked). Unfortunately, I had to have cavities filled, which is where I run into my problem. Dr. Nisha made her best effort initially to alleviate my pain during the fillings, but didn't let the proper time for anesthetic to set in to my gums, which resulted in a 1.5/2-hour period of severe pain during drilling. After the fact, my face was numb for over 7 hours and I was unable to eat solid food for over 7 hours. Upon my second visit, Dr. Nisha remarked IN FRONT OF ME that she should have let the anesthetic set in longer last time. My third visit was because Dr. Nisha's work on my fillings resulted in sharp intrusion into my cheek, which caused constant pain for days until I was able to return to Rooted. Thankfully they didn't charge me for correcting this! Overall, I love both Kelly and Dr. Nisha's bedside manner. I just wish that I didn't have to return multiple times because of both pain and cheek scarring in order to receive the proper care. read more

Went here because I was eligible for a gift card from open care app.... Anyways, it was still under construction and whatnot, so very brand new, which I should I have known better. I was told all my fillings had to be replaced and I believed them. Got a few fillings replaced on my left side, they didn't feel right, they had to be "readjusted" more than a few times (in the process they insisted I get a filling replaced on my right side, too) After so many times of not getting it right I just told them I had moved to find a new dentist... it' been almost a year and the left side of my mouth where I got the re-fillings still can't handle crunchy foods at certain times. I have tried to visit other dentists but nothing really has been solved... the root of these dental problems ironically started here at Rooted Dental Care and I just felt it was right to share my story. read more

I followed Dr. Patel from her previous office to her new office, Rooted, because you cannot find a more caring, committed dentist. I had a dental abscess when I was 9 months pregnant and she went out of her way to fit me into the schedule and ensure treatment was expedited before I delivered. She and her team are careful to make the experience of undergoing a dental procedure as comfortable as possible, and I didn't feel any pain at all during my root canal or crown. She does a great job educating patients about the risks and benefits of treatment, reviewing imaging studies, and answering all of your questions. She also did a great job with my invisalign. The office management team is rude. The first invoice I ever received from them had a personal note saying "pay balance to avoid collections!" If my account is overdue it is because you never billed me. Also, Doctors over prescribe treatment plans and RDH try to upsell everything. Get a 2nd opinion- you likely won't need all that is recommended for you. On the bright side- they have a pretty office. read more

The dentist is the one health professional that I faithfully see, but unfortunately I had a lot of cavities in my youth, and they are in various phases of having been replaced or needing replacement. When my previous dentist stopped taking my insurance, I found Dr. Patel at her previous office. When she opened her new practice, I followed her here. She's a fantastic dentist, and she runs a great practice. The office is brand new - no shabby furniture or equipment that looks like it's 50 years old. The hygienists are friendly but don't try to talk to you the whole time while your mouth is open, and they explain procedures thoroughly and ask if you have any questions. In addition to x-rays, they take pictures of your teeth - another tool for Dr. Patel to monitor your teeth and spot any troubling trends. Dr. Patel explains what she's looking for in her exam, shows you the x-rays and pictures and points out any trouble spots, and gives you a game plan, like "let's watch this cavity - it probably needs to be replaced soon, but not quite yet." When I had a filling replaced, it was easy and painless, and her office followed up subsequently and easily fit me in to adjust the filling because my bite felt a little off. I like that when they offer optional procedures that aren't covered by my insurance, they always explain why they recommend the procedure, how much it costs, and emphasize that it is optional. I also love that they have text reminders and my appointments are always on time. Great experience every time! read more
