However, I feel like maybe the change of employees caused a change and every session felt rushed. Came in at 5:30 and they close at 7:30, according to their flyer on the door I think the owner did my eyebrows - all I asked for was a clean up but she was rushing to get them done She overthreaded my left eyebrow from the top and bottom and cut them weird at the end She also took some of my arch away despite me not even asking her to change the shape. Clearly they're very uneven and I came in after waiting a month of waiting, so I had quite a bit of hair to work with. I came here as a walk in, since I knew Evergreen Threading with Kamal would be full without booking an appointment in advance. Apparently, Manjit of Pulvy Boutique is Kamal's sister! When I heard that, I felt relieved because if there's anything I'm picky about, it's not make-up or expensive clothes, but rather my eyebrows! I'm as basic as it gets with make-up and I'm only really concerned with my eyebrows and eyes. I don't like overly thin eyebrows, overly arched, overly thick, or especially the infamous "bitch" brows which gives girls the unappealing "resting bitch face" syndromes. Manjit did a great job with my brows and worked swiftly. As for me, I'm particular with my requests; I like a more rounded shape that is not too thin and lays a tad on the thicker side as my eyebrow hairs are more wispy and thin. What I would have liked, though, is the attention to detail with perhaps using a tweezer or making sure to pluck any rogue or stray hairs. Other than that, she did a great job shaping my brows :) It used to be $5 here, but it's $6 now and it's very reasonably priced! I believe Kamal charges $8. I'd definitely come here again if I don't have time to wait at Kamal's and forget to book an appointment. read more

My review is for the boutique part of the store, not the salon. They have a gorgeous, extensive collection of Indian dresses here. They informed me that they get shipments of new items from India every 2 weeks. I bought a dress for a special occasion and the workers there (Manjit, Neeru, and Harpreet) helped me out personally to make sure the dress, accessories, and everything for the event turned out perfectly. Very pleased with the customer service here. They're very prompt with alterations too! Dress altered in 2 days! I'll definitely be coming back here for dresses for future events! :) read more

I like the way this place does my eyebrows and I've never had a problem here but the last time I went they scratched my eyelid and then proceeded to tell me it's because I have sensitive skin. I didn't get an apology and was just blamed for having sensitive skin then she wiped my eyebrow with some sort of disinfectant without warning and it stung so I couldn't see that it was bleeding. Like I said, I've always had good experiences going here but the last time and the last employee that helped me was just not it. Before Coronavirus situation happened, this place is spot clean and very tidy and I have never seen the person doing the threading using dirty hands etc. Infact the have sanitizers everywhere to use even for people who have come to get their eyebrows thread. Those who have an issue with their hygiene should personally check themselves first before pointing fingers at anyone. This is my go-to eyebrow place! It has been half a year since I've done my eyebrows so it was fully grown and super bushy! Manjit Kaur took her time with my eyebrows and my shape is amazing!! I love how she didn't rush it because there were a lot of people in line and carefully shaped my brows to perfection! It is a bit pricey being $12 but it was money well spent!! Giving a 1 star because even if it was 4:58 ans they close at 5, the lady agreed to do my eyebrows and upperlips. But I'm promising to never come back here again ever. 1. She didn't listen to what my eyebrow requirements were. I love my unibrow and I specially asked not to thread the middle part by showing the middle part with my finger and she said she'll just touch up in an argumentative tone (like she knows my looks better than me) 2. While she was threading I felt she was threading in the middle part (between my eyes) and I told her not to (again). 3. When she asked me to check, my unibrow was not there. She cleared the whole middle part. Arrogant behavior. Not customer friendly. Didn't follow simple instructions and did whatever came to her mind. 4. And rather than giving me a free service because clearly she messed up she only reduced 2 dollars of the whole bill. DO NOT GO Here. I am sure your eyebrows will thank you. Just find another place. Got this lehenga a few days before I had to go to garba for the first time. They had a lot of good options and were very helpful in showing them. They made all the amends to the blouse in 2-3 days which really helped because I decided to go very last minute. Everyone complimented me on my lehenga and it's just beautiful in general. I went here in the past and the lady would do my eyebrows really good! However, one time I let another girl do my brows and oh my god..one was skinnier than the other and she just made them not equal. It was quite bad because she cut the bottom of my left eyebrow so short! It's a good place, but some of the workers might do your eyebrows bad so just be specific and find one you prefer. read more

WHY I WENT HERE: - I was in DIRE need to get my eyebrows threaded (I haven't had them waxed for 2 years because the last time I had them waxed, the woman burned my face) - my usual eyebrow threading lady was busy (she didn't respond to my call or text) - I quickly went on Yelp to find an alternate place to get them done that was open and nearby - I called ahead and the woman who answered the phone told me that THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - I've been to this plaza many times to visit the other businesses or go to the bank - from the outside, this shop looks really small THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - it's surprisingly spacious - to the left with a glass shelf partition, the threading area is sectioned off with 3 salon chairs - to the right there's a mini waiting area with a couch (which looked dirty, nasty, and sunken in) - to the right there's also a desk and professional photos posted up (is there a professional photographer who works from here?) - to the back is the actual boutique where the traditional Indian clothing is sold, and where the registers are located CUSTOMER SERVICE: - the woman who greeted me was warm and kind; she let me know how long my wait would be, seated me in the time length she estimated my wait time was, and proceeded to thread me herself - she was swift but didn't initially ask me how I wanted my eyebrows done (usually you're asked if you want them thinner or left a bit thick) - she never wiped the stray aways (the hairs threaded off) so when I got home and wiped my face, I noticed she gave me the shape, but left a LOT of hairs that don't affect the shape still there, that I had to pluck them off OVERALL: - if you're looking for something REALLY quick and cheap and you're desperate, come here ($5 eyebrow threading only!) - stick to the places who really take their time, even if it's a few dollars more expensive than this place read more

I've been coming here since the price for eyebrows was only $5. They've raised the price to $7 and have gotten new employees since. I haven't been here in a while, but after growing out my eyebrows, I wanted to clean them up. Whoever the new chick is, she's skinnier and younger looking, she managed to screw up my eyebrows and I left having one side thicker than the other. How does one mess up like that? I really want to give this place more stars cause the ladies here that I've encountered have been nice everytime but 3 stars is already being generous. I come here to thread my upper lip and wax my under arms. I go to Benefit Bar in valley fair for my eyebrow waxing . This place is nearby, not too long of a wait and is cheap! Cheap! Cheap! This place is also an Indian store that sells Indian cultural clothing and does some alterations. The waxing room really needs to be updated, you walk through what looks like a storage/break room before getting inside the wax room. The bed they do not cover with the disposable paper runners, but I've seen a roll against the wall so I take the liberty to lay it on myself. Today however, I am on a time crunch and had to do my underarms, lips but did not have time to drive all the way to valley fair to do my eyebrows so decided to just try it out here... MANJEET just really impressed me. I asked her to please not go too thin on my eyebrows cause I'm trying to grow them out. She did a fantastic job and I'm comparing her to the girl who does mine at benefit. I don't mind doing my eyebrows here again. I've been coming here the past couple of times I needed to get my eyebrows threaded. I like coming here when I know my usual brow lady (Kamal) can't accommodate me. The lady who runs this shop is actually Kamal's older sister! The threading skills run in the family, I see... :) This place is actually a boutique, but to the left side of the shop are 3 chairs where the magic happens! I don't actually have a preference on who does my eyebrows nor do I know any of their names, but I can remember their faces. All experiences here have been good so far, except 1 where my eyebrows were cleaned up, but were not shapened. I could've cleaned them up myself, but when it comes to shaping the brows, I need professional help. Had I known she was going to be rushing home as soon as she finished with mine & my sister's eyebrows, we would've asked another lady to help us. Any one of the other ladies probably would've done a better job. They all usually know what they're doing. I hardly have to direct them, but then again, I like keeping the thickness of my brows and that's it. It is really affordable here at $7, but $1 additional charge with if you're using card, so bring cash if you can! read more

Since I live in San Francisco for college, I visited here once every few months. However lately I noticed a trend of unwelcoming vibes from the ladies that thread. They aren't always welcoming (it varies per time I've visited) and give you cold stares if you don't tip more than they expect. They don't always listen to how I'd like my brows shaped (I left with asymmetrical brows, one straighter & the other more round) but they have done a great job with my cousin when I took her here... I feel like it varies. Not consistent in their work but mostly unsatisfactory. They can be busy, but I've been here before when it wasn't busy and the girls were just standing around and talking before they called me from the waiting area. Parking lot is good, and the place is easy to find. They also accept cash or credit. But if you don't feel like dealing with the ladies' fluctuating moods, I wouldn't go here. read more
