I understand that it's an unprecedented time, but the experience that we had at Punch tonight was the worst take out/dine out experience that we've had in the last 3 months, and we've gotten a lot of take out since restaurants closed back in March. We also have loved Wayzata Punch have been regular customers since they've opened. The issues: They had no gluten-free crust, there were no forks, knives or napkins provided, the salad was not heavily dressed as requested, (as repeated back to us by the cashier), and we were told that parmesan and red pepper flakes would be an additional 25 cents per cup. The whole experience was disjointed and disappointing. The pizza is great but we expect top-notch food and service from Punch, and we were really disappointed tonight. read more

PROS: As far as fast food Neapolitan pizza places go, Punch is one of the best. The quality is very consistent and the flavor is excellent. Their crust's flavor is excellent. I'm also a big fan of their Pinch Salad. I usually add anchovies instead bacon. Highly recommend it. CONS: I would like to see more protein topping options like chicken or beef. PARKING: Depends on the location. Some are a little challenging such as the Minneapolis location, others not so much such as the Wayzata or Uptown location. Two stars because the food is good, ONLY two stars because punch has just gotten crazier and crazier. The last two times I've been here... The first was that I ordered $40 in pizzas and $1.50 for 6 sides of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. After receiving my pizza I realized I wanted red pepper flakes. So I go back in to ask for red pepper flakes and they say "you have to pay for it. It's 25 cents." To which I say, "ok, here's a quarter." They then say "we can't accept cash and we can't take any credit card transactions under $1 so you have to pay for 4 sides." To which I say "are you kidding I just spent over $40 on pizza and 6 sides you won't even give me a measly container of red pepper flakes???" Ok byyyyyye. They used to let people use the shakers for free before Covid and I had no problem paying for one more side but it's literally impossible to buy only one side. Yet they still charge. I don't get it. Ok second time I go in and order my pizza and I ask 0can I get a cup of water?" They say "We aren't doing water cups right now" ...I'm so confused. We took a take out on a Sunday night. Place was neat and the ordering process was farely easy. You get a wonderful smell as soon as you enter the place.. we ordered Tripoli , vesuvio and chocolate hazelnut panni for dessert. The crust was little thicker than I expected it to be and it was very very soft. The wood fire added some charred flavor to it. They had some unique ingredients that they add to the pizza as well and all of them worked well together.. I thought the tomato and Parmesan could be over powering the ingredients but the were not.. Tripoli stood out to me.. Must try if you are a pizza fan. I would guess it is best enjoyed if you have them there itself. read more

This place is delicious. My friend and I ordered three pizzas to try (we were hungry, okay?): Margarita extra, bruni (I think), and one with prosciutto (can't remember the name). They were all amazing. Neither one of us could pick a favorite because they all rocked. The center of the crust was pretty flimsy, but I just rolled it up like a taco and it was fine. The end of the crust was amazing though. Ingredients tasted fresh. The service we received was also great. Everyone was very friendly and prompt with our requests. My sister visits Punch frequently as their pizza is ammmmaaazing. Last week, we stopped in at the Wayzata location to get a pizza to go. When we got home we were disappointed that our pizza order was prepared incorrectly. I left a message notifying the restaurant of our order mistake and I was pleased to receive a call back from the manager offering a sincere apology and a gift card. Really Punch? Why are you still using plastic containers for taking home leftovers? We love the pizza. A totally different style than Pizza Hut. Toto is my favorite with red wine and a salad. Pizza is delicious here. Cook time is fast, making for a great quick lunch. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Mattozzi, Maximus, and Vesuvio are among my favorites. The chocolate hazelnut panini for dessert is a great finish. read more

Had a Marghuerita Pizza and didn't like it too much. Kinda soggy and real greasy. Then again, that might've been the point.

I love pizza. If there was one food I could eat for the rest of my life it would be pizza. I lived in Chicago for 6 years so I think I know the stuff pretty well and after hearing good things about Punch I was looking forward to it, unfortunately I was let down. Issue #1: They couldn't be any more skimpy on the toppings! Seriously, 3 little slices of olive on one pizza is just not enough. Issue #2: Ordered the Italian chop salad and no where on the menu did it mention gorgonzola or blue cheese! When we got the salad it was all over the place. I hate hate stinky cheeses and it would be helpful if they listed ALL ingredients, especially ones that many people dislike, on the menu. We also went to the Eden Prairie location and after asking for no blue cheese on the salad, it of course came with it on there. Gave it 2 tries but I think I'll stick with the other options around here. read more

Loved the pizza! Judging from the other reviews, some people aren't familiar with the thin-crust European style pizza as opposed to the thicker crust American style. I docked my review one star because the sides (salads) aren't really anything spectacular. No one has mentioned this yet that I can see, but parking can be nightmarish. This location shares parking with a Chipotle and there is also a nearby Holiday station so its packed during peak hours. Yesterday I found myself sitting in a long line of cars waiting for a spot to open up. Was tempted to dock them a star for lousy parking, but its not like they're going to build a 3-level garage, so I kept my rating to the food. read more

Really good pizza, if you're a fan of the very thin Neopolitan style. There's nothing quite like a hot pizza coming right out of a 900 degree oven. You can order your own ingredients or they have different combos with set toppings. I ordered the margharita with goat cheese and sausage and the Maximus. Not enough sausage on the first pizza, could hardly taste any, but that delicious chewy dough sure makes up for it. The Maximus was a bit too hot for me, but still delicious. I've been to this location twice. Most recently, it had been 7 years at this location between visits. Sitting on the terrace, reminded me how easy it is for people to have privacy. For those of us wanting to go "home" whether it's a very public figure now or just someone who grew up there when that location was a Country Kitchen, it gives a feeling of nostalgia and warmth. Servers are wonderful. Like all of the Punch restaurants, which originated in our state, & went to the White House, honoring them volunteering to pay their workers, then $10 an hour, it is a pizza experience like no other. This place is so good! Unlike any other pizza place you will go to. The pizza is a thin crust burnt from the wood fire oven. I agree with many of the other reviewers that say the toppings are too scarce, but I personally prefer the bread alone, I don't even think there is a need for the toppings! Went there with the family for thanksgiving eve 14' pizza good a always but we were swarmed with fruit flies. Yuk.

Punch Pizza has disappointed us again. In early March , it took forever to get our meal, so the waitress gave us a card for a free pizza. Great. After they were closed for COVID for a long time, they re-opened for take-out, so we decided to use our free pizza card and order two salads along with it. What a debacle. First I tried to order online. Couldn't use the free pizza card for online ordering. I then called the main Punch Pizza number I found online. It was an off-site phone center. They couldn't help with the free pizza card either. I called the Wayzata location direct a total of 3 times in two days: no human ever answered - just a recording telling me to leave a message and they'd call me back ASAP. I left my name and phone number and stated what the problem wasm No call-backs. I tried today at 3:30 p.m. - early even for a Friday. Same thing. First, let me say that I LOVE PUNCH PIZZA but the reason I'm writing a review is because of the poor employee training. I stopped by the Wayzata Punch and ordered their Italian Chopped Salad (the best!) and the young man who took my order, gave me change, then immediately went over to the area to make the rosemary flat bread to be served with the salad (the other counter person in charge of the cash register had stepped out). Did he have gloves on when handling the money-NO! Gloves on when he was pushing the dough out on the marble slab-NO! Now maybe I'm too fussy but I found it disgusting! I've been in food service and there are certain items you never touch. If you are taught how to use the cash register, you also need to be taught that you never make a money transaction and then go directly to an area and handle food w/o washing up, no matter how many people are waiting...and at that time there were few people waiting for orders. Don't get me wrong as I think Punch is the best pizza (and salads) in town and the kid was young...but, with his lack of experience in serving food to the public, this is important to emphasis in a training program!
