Both are fantastic. I mean a LOT of flavor, no skimping. And the roll was HUGE with meaty fresh chunks of seafood. My son got the fried walleye which was delicious with a side of their perfect fries (seriously the fries are rave-worthy.) Great cocktails too. My husband got the Pineapple Cov and it was fresh and delightful. Very well rounded list of N/A beverages including the "Purify Yourself Minnetonka" Margarita" ( love it!). The prices listed on the menu might feel a little hefty but you actually get a good portion size and top quality with the menu items. I don't live around here, but back home you'd throw down a car payment for four people to get a meal like this (and honestly the cost would make you question the quality). We went to COV Wayzata for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed our experience. The complimentary caramel roll was absolutely delicious to start with, and we also tried the crab cake (fantastic!) and the truffle fries. The ambiance was wonderful as always--the décor at COV is one of my favorites and creates such a great atmosphere. The only downside this time was that service felt a bit on the slower side. I got there first so took a look around while waiting for my buddy- there is a very large bar to the right as you walk in- good water views from the bar area. The decor is sort of "new England-ish" lots of white and wood -it gives you that summer vibe. We grabbed a booth in the main dining room and started with some fried calamari and glasses of wine. Calamari was on point. When in Rome, so the saying, do what they Romans do... so after the waitress hyped up the walleye fish & chips - I went and ordered the Walleye fish & chips. Food arrived in what I would say is the proper amount of time - and everything was definitely fresh. The Walleye was decent enough - I don't think it was the best thing I've ever had, but it was a solid meal and a good sized portion. All in all, this place seems like it is a probably a hot spot in the warmer weather, which I am sure it is. Give it a shot if in the area. read more

I took a bite to try it, and it tasted okay to me but I asked her if they are supposed to be cold (it just came out) and she said no. She also said the meat was a bit too chewy and not quite right. The Mr. currently works in MN and I was up for the weekend to visit. One of his favorite places to eat is CoV. While he usually has dinner here, we decided to try Sunday Brunch. This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing ambience. We were seated right at the edge of the patio, so had magnificent water views while we dined. There were lots of great options on the menu, but we opted for the Sweet Corn Dip, French Dip Au Jus (me) with a side of clam chowder, and the Turkey Cranberry Sandwich (the Mr.) with a side of fruit. Everything was SO good. Service was top notch and we were quite pleased to be served a complimentary Caramel Roll. So yummy. We couldn't finish it all, so our sweet waitress (Elsa?) boxed it up for us. The Mr. will be able to have it all for lunch tomorrow. Pricy yes, but so worth it! Cov is located in a nice walkable area right off of Wayzata Bay. The view is very beautiful looking outside from the restaurant. Though the majority of what I ordered was good, the high prices didn't reflect high quality incredible tasting food. Best time to visit would be Happy Hour. Drinks - (1) Tap That Ginger Margarita. Margaritas are my go to drink and I'm obsessed with ginger. The drink had a great little spice reflecting the fresh ginger which I really enjoyed. If you love ginger this is a must have! (2) Pink Lady. The grapefruit really came through with a little bit of sweetness to counter balance the bitterness that grapefruit sometime has. It also resembles a martini style drink. This could easily sneak up on you so 2 might be just enough :) Hard to pick a favorite because both were really good. Food - (1) Roasted Brussels Sprouts were not good. They were under seasoned and needed salt. The balance of the gruyere and cream was also not good. Way too much cheese which I never thought I'd ever say because I love cheese. I mean who doesn't love a cheesy creamy dish?!?! I also thought the brussel sprouts could have been roasted more. The few crispy bites I got were the best part. More crispy bites and less cheese might make this dish worth trying. But for now, I don't recommend it. (2) Italian Sausage Flatbread was a good dish. Nice crispy edges with an even balance of ingredients in each bite. I would order this again but just during happy hour. Regular priced is $22 and happy hour prices $12. It tastes more like a $12 dish than $22. Overall, I recommend visiting this place during happy hour or for drinks and an appetizer with friends. The prices are on the high side and in my opinion the food wasn't so amazing that it made it worth paying the higher prices. read more
