There is a reason 6Smith is busy. We made a reservation for the patio and even in 90 degree weather it was comfortable. They have big umbrellas, fans and the water to keep things cool. The most uncomfortable thing is finding a place to park. If you can't find a spot in the lot, tracking down a street spot that isn't only 1 hour can be a challenge or a bit of a walk. We started with cocktails and Bread is Life appetizer (5/5). Bread is indeed life. We needed two baguettes to eat the three butters/sauces. The whipped ricotta and honey was my favorite, but the chimichurri was a close second. For entrees we split the Beet and Watermelon King Salmon Salad (3/5), A Fat Burger (5/5), Chilled Lobster Roll (4/5), and the Spicy Lobster Mac and Cheese (5/5). The salad was good, but the salmon didn't have enough seasoning for me. It's also more of a traditional watermelon salad vs lettuce salad. The lobster roll was good, but of course mostly bread. It was a hardy sandwich and filled more than other restaurants. The burger was in fact fat, cheesy and juicy. The sandwiches come with hand cut fries (5/5) and an aioli. While the Mac and cheese says it's spicy, it's more of a Minnesota spice. It's a shareable portion, but no more than 3 people if they have other food. For dessert we ordered the Mud Moon Pie (4/5). When they say it's served with a knife they mean it. The portion size is huge! Like 6-12 people could eat on it. We ended up sharing with the table next to us. We were warned it was shareable, but I wish there would have been a smaller portion option to select. We felt so wasteful not being able to eat even half of it. We loved our server. We never felt rushed, our water glasses were never empty and she split the bill with our individual dishes and then split the shared items (I love when they do this vs giving us one bill). This is right on the lake and tucked away. You can't see the water from the patio unless you are on the outside edge because of the hedge. But the food is off the charts delicious. Ben provided the best service, from his friendly greeting, to his solid recommendations and attention to detail. My friends and I stopped in for happy hour and thought it was a great way to try this upscale restaurant without paying full dinner prices. I ordered the cheeseburger, and it was absolutely worth it at the happy hour price point. My friend got the wings and said they were some of the best she's ever had! The lobster pasta tasted great but wished the portion was a little larger! Two points that were disappointing for me were due to the steak tartar and the chicken wings. The tartar was WAY too salty and sour. I love pickles but this was overkill. At first glance, you know there's pickles in it with the fan of them. However, there were so many pickles diced in the tartar mixture, along with capers, that ultimately was unpleasant after a few bites. The chicken wings were cooked well and loved the spice mixture seasoning. Again, the saltiness was overpowering and unpleasant. On my second wing, the saltiness was so strong I wish I had scraped off the seasoning or saved some baguette to dilute the salt. Service is exceptional every time I have been here. I had a couple people in the last 2 weeks recommend that I try out 6smith. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I booked an outdoor patio table and when we arrived, we waited a bit and got our table. With that being said, what we did eat was delicious. The Brussels sprouts are crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. "Bread is Life" is another fun starter. The baguette has a thick, crunchy crust that can be a little tough to cut, but the flavor makes it worth the effort. If you want seafood, the salmon is a sleeper hit. My girlfriend and I came to 6Smith to celebrate a special occasion and from the moment we were seated, we knew it was going to be a great night. Our table was decorated with confetti and even had a personalized card, a small touch, but one that instantly made us feel special. Before I even get to the food, I have to shout out our server, Victoria H. She went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. Seriously, if her manager sees this, give her a raise! It was hands-down some of the best service I've ever had anywhere. Flank Steak - 7/10 - The chimichurri sauce I borrowed from our app really elevated this steak. On it's own, pretty average but maybe to be expected from a less tender steak. Hurricane (cocktail) - 5/10 - good flavors but way too much rum, not a balanced cocktail. On a previous visit I got their burger and remember enjoying that. Good service overall. Came here for a business meal on June 10, 2025. The atmosphere was great. Large seating areas with great decor and nice views of water and local scenery! SERVICE: We were greeted quickly upon entry and seated for our reservation very timely. Although we were a large group and had extra servers attending to us, our service was a bit spotty and often had moments where we were waiting for them to come back to help us. Very nice people, but disappointing. FOOD: We tried several dishes as you can see from the pictures. The consensus was that the food was "ok". We tried the poke appetizer which was fabulous, and the bread was also a hit. The main dishes is where we had some misses. The filet was overcooked and 2 of the 3 short ribs (which we were excited about the meat "falling apart") was actually very tough and not as advertised. I really like to take advantage of restaurant week. Encourages us to try places we haven't been to in a while. We did at 6SMITH and had a fabulous experience. Our server Logan lead the way providing good insights on menu. Not the usual "everything is great!" We started with having a glass of Justin Isosceles. Outstanding! MK had a wedge salad and no skimping on bacon here. I had Waygu meatballs with burrata and were wow good! Onto our entrees. We both had the filet cut we dressed differently. MK had American style which has a cheese and onion topping on a perfectly prepared medium filet. Portion size was healthy. I had an Oscar preparation on my filet. Super yummy asparagus, king crab and bearnaise sauce. Again, medium prep was fantastic! The mashed potatoes were super buttery and had to eat every bit! As dessert is part of menu for restaurant week we both had Oreo cheesecake and the portion size was just right and it was a tasty way to end this experience. It's a hopping spot in Wayzata. I was here for a work event so we had a back room overlooking the lake. I took advantage of valet parking because we had a recent snow storm and didn't want to deal with ice and snow. So nice to just walk in. The spread in our room was awesome. Very private. Table seating for about 15. We started with hors devours which was a tartar, bruschetta, and something wrapped in bacon. All on sticks which made them very easy to eat and continue talking. For dinner we chose from a fixed menu with lots of options. Two salad options of which I chose the mixed greens. For dinner, I chose the filet which was cooked perfectly. We shared sides of creamy potatoes (yes super creamy and tasty) and Brussel sprouts which were roasted. So good! Finally we had a chocolate cake topped with ice cream. So much to eat and all very good. Service was absolutely excellent. We had at least two servers in our room. I was never in need of a drink or food or anything. They were so on top of it all. I can't speak for pricing because I was at an event. Great experience. I visited 6Smith for the first time last weekend to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it did not disappoint! Having enjoyed multiple visits to Baldamar, I was excited to see what 6Smith had to offer, and it lived up to the hype. The menu was overwhelming in the best way--so many enticing options that I knew I couldn't go wrong. The Bread is Life was an absolute must-have: warm, soft, and paired with incredible accoutrements. I nearly ordered a second one to take home! We also decided to share the dry rub wings, and I'm so glad we did. They were perfectly seasoned, juicy, and moist while still achieving a nice crisp on the outside; just how wings should be. For dinner, I ordered the short rib, and I had zero regrets. Between the two appetizers, I barely made a dent in it and had plenty of leftovers to take home. The tamarind in the tomato-based sauce added a subtle hint of sweetness that perfectly complemented the savory flavor of the meat. I'd absolutely order it again, though with so many other tempting options on the menu, it may take me a while to circle back! Since we dined in early February, it was too dark to see the waterfront location, but I'm already looking forward to a return visit for brunch and a summer patio experience. The only downside to my visit was a small but frustrating detail: When I ordered a dirty martini, the server asked if I preferred regular or blue cheese olives. Naturally, I chose blue cheese (because, obviously), only to later notice a $2 surcharge on the bill. I don't mind paying extra, but I do mind not being informed upfront. I came in Saturday night for a dinner but not just any dinner, I was going to ask a very pretty lady to be my girlfriend. Let me just say the staff that night went above and beyond to make this night one she'd never forget . I told them what I was trying to do and they assured me that they'd make it happen, and boy... Did they. I had flowers dropped off and they arranged them in a nice vase, wrote a card to her, and surprised her with dessert and flowers at the end of our meal. She opened the card and they gave her a gift card. Couldn't of asked for a better surprise. Huge shout out to the staff that made this night special. Love it here! Amazing food, especially the scallops with gnocchi and the lobster roll. Both are amazing and we have gotten them multiple times. The desserts are MASSIVE and phenomenal. The key lime and the 50 shades of chocolate are a must and plenty to share with the table. The outside seating is beautiful with the lake view. It is covered well with umbrellas so not too hot. Indoor seating as well. Definitely recommend a reservation on weekends especially in the summer. The staff are so friendly. For being a more elegant restaurant, they are still kid friendly with a kids menu. Great spot! read more

It was a beautiful day at 3:45 pm on a Saturday. I assumed that I could easily get a drink outside with an appetizer. I was told this was not possible due to prom! After the fact, it appeared the prom guests were inside, so I am puzzled by that line of reasoning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Therefore, as a single diner, I was seated at a high top table directly across from the waiters station in the bar area. This was not what I expected and it really made my dining experience subpar[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. In hindsight, I could have I moved to the bar! Of course, the food was amazing! Beautiful spot with a peaceful, lake-view feel. Kids had the seared organic salmon and mac and cheese -- tasty, not too salty. The kids' meal came with fresh-squeezed juice, not boxed, which we really appreciated. Great food, great value! read more

Great food and service! And tastes much better than the pictures! Came for restaurant week and everything was great or very good. The plating wasn't always the most attractive so the pictures don't really do the food justice. Couldn't get a reservation so asked to sit at the bar, and was offered a booth in the bar area, which was perfect. Server gave us recos, and each dish was a hit. For tartare was amazing, and the roasted vegetable salad was very good. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the short rib was very tasty. I loved the flan, and the chocolate mousse dessert was great too. Will definitely go back for the food and service! read more
