Always amazing, every time we go (which is around once a week) we are amazed. We decided to try curry chicken and it was amazing, and we usually do chana masala and chicken tiki masala and samosas, all of which are to die for! Ahhhh so good!!!! This is a great place to get Indian food if you're in Allston. If you dine-in, it's kind of small and cramped and usually pretty busy. That's not a bad thing, though, because you know the food must be good if there's a lot of people. We've been getting takeout from here for years. The food is always prepared really well. Occasionally it takes a bit longer than usual but that's just because they're so busy. Would definitely recommend this place if you're craving Indian! read more

My friends and I ordered takeout from here last night during our weekly girls' night where we catch up and happen to have the Bachelor on in the background. The food arrived so quickly--like 15 minutes quickly. We ordered everything to share, so I experienced a sampling of the menu: vegetable pakora, vegetable samosas, garlic naan, saag paneer, matar paneer, chicken tikka masala, and bhartha saag. Yeah, we ordered a lot, but there were 5 of us. And even though we feasted, there were still leftovers! The price after delivery and tip was $17 apiece, which I thought was very reasonable for how much food we had. My favorite dishes were the saag paneer and matar paneer. So much delicious sauce to soak up too! The chutney included with our order was also pleasantly spicy. The garlic naan was a little disappointing since it was cold by the time we got it, but obviously I still ate it. The chicken in the tikka was a little dry, but the sauce was very flavorful. I love coming to Punjab palace for their lunch special. Their portions are big and I often have to take my leftovers to go. It's a really good Indian food place close to Boston University's campus and their service is great! I always get their chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan on the side. The food is well-spiced and the flavors are on point! This time I did delivery and it was here within 20 minutes despite the fact of them saying it would be about an hour! Every time I come here I see oodles of takeout bags lined up for their delivery driver and I can def see why. This is my favorite Indian joint in Boston. A little dated inside and they play nonstop Bollywood movies and music on the TV but that adds to atmosphere. All the servers here are really friendly as well. We always use the Groupon and usually split a chicken tikka masala and lamb vinda lu between two. My friend and I were in the mood for Indian on a Tuesday night and decided on Punjab Palace. As soon as we walked in, we knew the food was going to be good because the restaurant although not very big was already 80% full for an early dinner on a Tuesday night and their counter was a never-ending and continually replenished line of takeout orders. It also smelled delicious as soon as we walked in! We were greeted and seated by the friendly staff right away. When i called you notify the restaurant I received regular nan and not garlic nan - they offered to correct a wrong that wasn't. It was garlic nan. The gentleman explained that the garlic at times makes itself to the center of the bread. I respect that they were polite and stood behind their product. I normally hate going out to eat with my roommate, as she is a picky non-vegan, who normally doesn't like vegan restaurants. Punjab palace is the perfect place for us! They have vegan options and the waiters are very knowledgeable and aware of your dietary restrictions. I got the special vegetable coconut curry and it was the best coconut curry I've ever had! I've eaten at Punjab Palace both pre-COVID, and when they had to go only to delivery due to lockdown, and the quality hasn't changed. The portions are huge, you can choose the spice level of the majority of dishes, and there's a wide range of both meat and vegetarian meals. My husband is from Southern India and is pretty picky about Indian restaurants, but considers this a pretty solid go-to outside of more authentic locations in New York and New Jersey. I try something different each time, and I've never been disappointed. read more

I went there again thinking it may be just one off instance and I should try it out twice before writing a bad review and now I don't feel I an wrong in writing a bad review of them. Punjab palace is a clutch restaurant when I'm in the mood for some Indian food. I've ordered from them several times through Yelp! (haven't eaten at the restaurant yet) and it's always delivered within the estimated 45-60 or sooner. The food comes in a sturdy bag in good plastic containers with no spilling and ready to eat. Chicken tikka masala - 4/5 - good balance of flavors, - little spicy (for medium--just the way I like it), with lots of pieces of well cooked and mostly juicy chicken. Shahi paneer makhani - 4/5 - buttery goodness with cubes of paneer. Not sure if housemade, but above average quality (no rubbery texture on the paneer). Does have some almonds which makes for a good random crunch. Garlic naan - above average garlic naan. Comes nice and hot wrapped in aluminum foil. We ordered the chicken tikka masala twice. One time they seem to use the leftover chicken tikka and one time they seem to use bland and dry chicken breasts. I loved the food here. There are many great restaurants on Brighton Ave and in Allston in general, but this still may be one of the best. I came in with a friend and we told the waiter that we wanted to try whatever was delicious that he recommended. He gave us a few favorites of his and we ended up selecting the chicken coconut korma with garlic naan and the veggie pakora as an appetizer. We also got the gulab jamon and kulfi (on his recommendation) for desert. Everything was fantastic. I also give great credit to our waiter for picking out the best stuff for us. My friend and I are very adventurous, but not personally as familiar with Indian cuisine as we should be, so I really appreciate he picked out some great dishes for us as we wanted the authentic stuff, and he seemed excited that we liked it as well. The deserts, both the gulab jamon and kulfi, I found particularly shockingly delicious. To make it all even sweeter, I found the price really fair.
