I noticed they had Pani Puri on their menu, so I stopped in to order this, along with a mango lassi drink. Pani Puri ($9.99) with small/medium mango lassi ($4). Pani Puri is one of my favorite Indian street food snacks and not every Indian restaurant has this. So I wanted to try and check it out here. The filling was diced potatoes, onions, cilantro and other spices - along with a tamarind vinaigrette water sauce. Even though the fried globes were not handmade, but came premade, the filling had a good amount of flavor and kick (hot spice) to it and it was a decent snack. While waiting for my order, I saw them roll out a fresh ball of dough to make the naan, so next time I am in the area I will try one of their curry dishes and get the made-to-order naan. Located in the Asian food court on Durant Ave, near the Telegraph Ave intersection around the UC Berkeley campus. Prices are reasonable with quick service. The quality of the Butter Chicken Burrito was below expectations. Lacked flavor, and the yogurt sauce was watery and lacked flavor. For a burrito that costs $21 after tax with no flavor is absolutely terrible. Very disappointing. read more

A hole-in-the-wall and a surprising find! The place looks unassuming from the outside, but the food and drinks were genuinely delicious. Drink ordered: Mango Lassi (8/10): Refreshing with a lovely mango flavor and just the right thickness--it wasn't too hard to drink through the straw, which I appreciated. Food ordered: Butter Naan (8/10): So good, but I do wish the portion was larger. My boyfriend and I each got one order and ended up inhaling it. It wasn't clearly listed on the menu, but they had it when we asked--same with the butter chicken. Butter Chicken with Rice (8/10): As a butter chicken fan, I was happy with this one. The flavor was rich and comforting, though I would've liked a bit more chicken. The rice was just okay--nothing special on its own--but it worked well once mixed with the sauce. Personally, I would've preferred more naan instead. There's minimal indoor seating--just a few bar stools by the window--but there is outdoor seating available, shared with nearby restaurants. Be aware that the outdoor area can feel a little sketchy at times due to the surrounding foot traffic, which took away from the atmosphere a bit, though that's not the business's fault. I loved all the food as it was flavorful, spiced evenly, and packed a punch with every bite, the samosas had a great crunch, though the naan and paratha were a bit on the burnt side. The sauces were good with the samosas and the naan and added a ton of flavor. My favorite was the biryanis as the rice and onions were so flavorful and tasty in themselves. Ordered delivery from this place today and the first thing I noticed was the Maggi noodles-- they literally just boiled a $1 pack of noodles and charged $10 for it! lmao fr?? The photo looks like there's other stuff in it, maybe some veggies or something, so I thought maybe they stir fried it with added ingredients in their own special way or whatever... Nope. Just plain noodles for $10. You gotta be kidding me. Portions are kinda small fyi; the chicken curry tasted good but had just a few tiny pieces of chicken in an already small box. $71 was our subtotal before delivery, and I can't believe I spent that much on such a small amount of food. I got the veggie combo which came with 2 entree options, a side of rice, and regular naan. I also got a samosa on the side. My total came out to around $18. I will start by saying that this food wasn't worth the price. The food temperature isn't warm, it's like at room temperature. The rice was kinda clumpy and it looks like basmati mixed with long grain rice which I wasn't expecting. The flavor on the channa masala was good, but I have had better at other places. The dal makhani was okay. It did have a nice kick to it, though. The cilantro garnish added a nice fresh flavor to the meal. My favorite food item was the samosa. Both the batter and the filling were very flavorful as was the sauce it came with (I am assuming it's a tamarind sauce). Like the rest of the food, the samosa didn't taste super fresh but was crispy enough. The naan piece that came with the meal was pretty big and I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the samosa. The establishment is clean and employees are nice. I don't know that I would come back here again because it is pretty pricey for what you're getting. read more

This review encompasses two different visits. The first time, I ordered online for the 2 veg combo plate: paneer tikka masala and saag paneer, samosa chaat, and garlic naan. They were out of saag so gave me mattar paneer instead. I appreciate that there's this combo option since I get to try two different dishes for just one dollar more. The workers were friendly and the food was yummy. However, the plastic box for my vegetable combo leaked sauce into the plastic bag unfortunately. Also, part of the garlic naan was a bit too burnt. The second time, I ordered in person for saag paneer, regular naan, and samosa chaat. This time I definitely can recall both the saag and samosa chaat were a little too spicy for what I can handle (I can only take a mild level unfortunately) and you are not automatically asked what spice level you want when you order. The saag was on the salty side so I couldn't taste the spinach as well as I'd like, and the samosa chaat in particular had some pretty spicy parts. The naan was fine and not burnt this time, though. Overall, the food is pretty good and portions are decent, but be mindful of the spice levels. Also, once in a while they might close for part or all of a day that they are usually open, so I would recommend either calling to check or walking by in person if you're in the area, since sometimes online ordering sites are not up to date with temporary closures. read more

Though this place might be relatively new, it's my top contender for quick Indian food near campus! Their menu is pretty extensive and I want to try everything. They have good food with hefty portions AND for pretty decent prices! (Something all college students appreciate.) The food is decent, especially compared to some other Indian places in the area The most common thing to order here is their combos -- you get 2 entrees for $15.95 (vegetarian) with rice. However the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. The food comes in a plastic container that's almost guaranteed to spill into the bag. The entrees themselves get pretty mixed with each other so you don't get to eat 2 distinct things. I did ask for them to pack it separately on Snackpass but still received it all in one In terms of value, there is a decent amount of food. I ordered a naan with my combo and got 3 meals out of it.
