Pasion has its own parking lot (but I wound up parking in the Dollar Tree lot next door since I went shopping there too). Pasion is not the...most elegant looking restaurant. It looks rather old and aged (I do not know what year it actually opened). It's also oddly dim inside. Most of the interior is dedicated to seating and the counter where you order is towards the back. There is a bathroom off to the side. I ordered my food from a very nice lady and it came out rather quickly. When I got home I was surprised to find the chicken cut in a rather...rustic fashion. I'm used to rotisserie chickens cut into four, equal sized pieces but this was cut up into six pieces of varying sizes. Sadly, the chicken was rather dry but the green sauce that came with it was super tasty and spicy so dipping it into the sauce helped a lot. The Maduros were...not great. They had a bit of an oily taste to them that I've never tasted in Maduros before. It wasn't very pleasant. Based on other reviews here this place seems to have its fans and that's cool. This is a mom and pop business and I believe in supporting local businesses. I'm glad I tried this place, but I likely won't be gong back.

When I was ready to pack up my food, I asked for a container so I could take my leftover green sauce with me, and the waitress told me that I could not take the green sauce. I couldn't understand that for the life of me. Why wouldn't a customer be allowed to take the sauce that came with their meal? Because I found that so strange, I started paying attention to what was happening with the green sauce whenever I came into the restaurant. The last two times I was there, I personally watched a waiter and a waitress take the ceramic bowls containing the green sauce and use the small spoon that comes with the bowl to pick out what appeared to be pieces of food from the sauce. They then took the bowls to the back. I don't know what they do with the sauce after they take it to the back, and I'm not claiming that I know what happens to it. But seeing employees picking pieces of food out of the green sauce that had been sitting on a customer's table and then taking the bowl to the back made me very uncomfortable. At that point, I started wondering if this is why customers aren't allowed to take their leftover green sauce home. Listen, the chicken is good. The yellow rice being mixed with white rice is confusing to me, but the chicken itself is good. However, after personally witnessing what I described above, I no longer feel comfortable eating the beans, rice, or especially the green sauce there. And that really bothers me because the green sauce actually tastes really good. But now it grosses me out. Sometimes when I eat chicken, I'll dip the chicken into the green sauce, take a bite, and dip it again because it's my food and my sauce. So naturally, seeing food particles being picked out of a sauce bowl that had been sitting on a customer's table made me question the food-handling practices. I'm not saying that I know what they do with the sauce after it goes into the back. I'm telling you what I personally saw. There are way too many Peruvian restaurants for me to spend my money somewhere when I've personally witnessed something that makes me uncomfortable about their food-handling practices. I would really like an explanation from management as to what happens to the green sauce after it is returned from a customer's table and why customers are not permitted to take their leftover sauce home. That's my concern. I saw what I saw, and it made me uncomfortable enough that I don't trust the green sauce anymore.

We began with a jar of their homemade drink, Chicha Morada, made of purple corn, pineapple, lime, cinnamon and cloves described as fruity and tangy. As appetizers to share, we decided on Piqueo Stancia, Chalaquitas de Scallops, Calamar Frito, and Mini Papas-Rellenas. The dish missing was for the bday celebration person at work, they completely ruined his celebration. I requested a sooner delivery, and Andres did not accommodate or try to be pleasant for the horrible inconvenience created by them.
