Lomo Saltado with a side of maduros

Great service and delicious authentic Peruvian food! Ordered the lomo saltado with a side of maduros. Parking lot is a plus. Will definitely be back!

    arroz chaufa especial

Worst and smallest order of arroz chaufa especial ever. First let me say this is the smallest size orders of arroz chaufa especial I have ever gotten. It's a 8 or 9 inch round aluminum container compared to other places the give you a long 15 inch rectangle container with more than double the amount of food for the same price which is $17 at this place. Rice has no flavor and the amount of chicken, steak and shrimp is laughable to sad. I would be embarrassed to serve this to a customer and to charge as much as places like Hugos or La Carvana! Both are 10 times better and give you way more food and flavor. If you like Peruvian food go to Hugos in Rahway. Food taste much better, portion size is so much bigger and the seating area is bigger and nicer!

The only place that make the arroz chaufa the mariscos the way I like it. I haven't tried much more than the usual ceviche or jalea but the rice is my favorite.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience…read more We are regular customers and order food from this restaurant almost every week. We've always enjoyed the food, which is why what happened today was so surprising and upsetting. We purchased a whole chicken, and when my husband brought it home, I began cutting it to serve dinner to my children. To my surprise, several parts of the chicken were completely undercooked and raw. I have attached photos because they speak for themselves. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with Carlos, who was very kind, professional, and understanding. He apologized and offered to replace the chicken. I truly appreciate how he handled the situation. Unfortunately, everything changed when my husband returned to the restaurant. The two employees at the front, Paola and Cara, treated him with a very unprofessional and disrespectful attitude. One of them opened the box with the replacement chicken in front of him and sarcastically asked if "this chicken was okay." The other opened the chicken we had returned and insisted that it was perfectly fine and that "this is how it's supposed to be," despite the fact that it clearly contained raw, undercooked meat. My husband felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. At that point, he no longer wanted another chicken--he simply asked for a refund and left. When I learned what had happened, I called back because, by then, the issue was no longer just about the undercooked chicken, but about the way we had been treated. I asked one of the employees for her name, and she refused to provide it. Instead, she hung up on me and told me not to come back to the restaurant. I tried calling several more times to speak with a manager, but no one answered. I finally called from my husband's phone, and Carlos answered again. He sincerely apologized and let me know the manager would be available the next day, and I plan to speak with them directly. I want to make it clear that mistakes can happen. No restaurant is perfect, and we understand that. What is unacceptable is treating loyal customers with sarcasm, disrespect, and a complete lack of empathy when they report a legitimate concern. More importantly, serving raw chicken is not just a quality issue--it is a food safety issue, especially when that food was intended to be served to children. What was even more concerning was that, instead of acknowledging the mistake, your employees questioned us and tried to convince us that the chicken was properly cooked. After being loyal customers for so long, we never expected to be treated this way. I sincerely hope management takes this matter seriously--not only because of the poor customer service, but because food safety should always be a top priority. I hope no other family has to experience what we went through today.

Peru is much more than just Machu Picchu and other archaeological sites. It's a country where its…read morerich culture also shines through its internationally acclaimed exquisite cuisine, which has only recently exploded onto the international culinary stage. It is among the most generous and deeply rooted, with traditions reaching back to the Incas, a wealth of beautiful indigenous ingredients and culinary influences from Spain, Japan, Italy, Africa and China. Jersey is home to a wealth of Peruvian restaurants, found largely in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties. Passaic itself is home to the largest Peruvian immigrant population in the Garden State. Like food everywhere today, there is a new style of Peruvian cuisine emerging--so-called nueva comida--forged by Lima's leading chefs like Gaston Acurio and Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Situated on a busy N Wood Avenue in Linden, some of my colleagues came to this establishment for lunch after a three-year hiatus. A reservation was made by calling into Stancia Peruvian Fusion Restaurant. Upon arrival, our table was ready inside a modern, well-decorated space with music blasting like a lounge to evoke a summer celebratory vibe. The menu is a bit fancier than other Peruvian eateries. We began with a jar of their homemade drink, Chicha Morada, made of purple corn, pineapple, lime, cinnamon and cloves described as fruity and tangy. As appetizers to share, we decided on Piqueo Stancia, Chalaquitas de Scallops, Calamar Frito, and Mini Papas-Rellenas. As the main dish, we opted for Pescado A Lo Macho (Corvina), Quinoa Chaufa with Scallops, Tacu Tacu con Lomo Saltado, Quinoa Chaufa with Shrimps, Quinoa Chaufa with Salmon, Tacu Tacu with Chicken, Pachamanca, and Arroz Chaufa de Pollo. Complimentary roasted corn accompanied the aji verde spicy hot green sauce that started our meal. Each dish is a work of art, not just in presentation but in the authentic flavor not too overpowering, it remained exquisite with a sizeable portion. This restaurant continues to impress us every time with their consistency and good customer service. Stancia has incredible food and a beautiful space, two things many restaurants struggle to get right. All boxes checked.

We initially tried to place a delivery order, but delivery wasn't available at the time due to a system/machine issue, so we had to go in person to order, which was disappointing. I ordered the Arroz Chaufa with all the works, which is similar to Chinese fried rice. The quality of the rice and the meat was very good and everything tasted fresh. Unfortunately, the dish was extremely salty. I was told soy sauce is added to the rice, and since I usually don't add soy sauce to my fried rice, the flavor was overpowering. If it weren't for the heavy saltiness, it would have been excellent, but I couldn't eat it. My friend ordered the traditional Peruvian ceviche, made with fresh fish, lime juice, red onion, sweet potato, and other ingredients. He added hot sauce and said the flavors were good, but something--possibly the lime or soy sauce--was very potent, to the point where even the hot sauce couldn't balance out the saltiness. Another friend ordered the Arroz Chaufa with shrimp and unfortunately had to throw it out as well due to the saltiness. It was a shame, especially for first-time customers. Overall, the food quality seemed good and the ingredients were fresh, but the salt level made the dishes unenjoyable for us. With better balance, these dishes could be really amazing.
