Boy am I a good Yelper if I do say so myself. I love looking for new eateries by sifting through Yelp Reviews and looking for the reviews of other regular Yelpers. Pupfish cafe is hidden behind the Spellbinder Bookstore. It used to be strictly a coffee shop but now it is a great breakfast and lunch spot. Lots of regulars were in there at lunch as well as travelers such as myself. I devoured "The Norwegian " mainly because it had everything I love. Avacado- Smoked Salmon- Cilantro Caper Spread which I didn't know was my new favorite on ...wait for it...Sourdough toast. And yes I took a picture. Oh and the iced tea...to die for (unsweetened and lots of flavor). I will intentionally be hungry whenever we pass through Bishop again for a repeat order. Nice little place to check out after photographing the Sunrise at Lake Sabrina! I got the egg, cheese panini with sausage added to it and it was pretty darn good. I also got a side of tomato basil soup which was served at a perfect temperature and it was tasty especially with the type of cheese they put which is Parmesan. The latte I got was great too and it had a nice nutty flavor to it. I usually put sugar or sweetener of some kind in my coffees but the flavor was so enjoyable I felt like it didn't need anything else. The pecan granola bars looked great and if I ever stop by I'll have to give that a try. read more

Drove through this town and was pleasantly surprised by this cute little cafe! I had the portabello mushroom panini (add avocado) and it was really delicious. Waffles were good, nothing spectacular. Logistically, I think they could use some work in terms of matching people with their orders bc they kept getting it wrong...maybe try a number system? But the food was yummy and the staff nice. If I ever find myself driving through this town, I'll def go again :) Also - plenty of parking. Door is located in the back / not street side, which is weird. Attached to a cute bookstore! I was so excited to find the Pupfish Cafe! I try to eat a Paleo diet as best I can wherever I am. Pupfish actually has a section of their menu labeled Paleo breakfast. I ordered the eggs on avocado- 2 scrambled eggs on a whole sliced avocado topped with kalamata olives, chili flakes and basil. It was amazing yet simple and it made me very happy! My husband ordered the same thing and he also ordered a Liège waffle- they are made with a yeast based brioche dough studded with special pearls of sugar that caramelize when it's cooked. It's served in a paper bag and you eat it with your hands. He absolutely loved it!! I also got a piece of gluten free zucchini bread which I ate later that day and it was moist and delicious!! Pupfish Cafe is located at the back of a bookstore and it has about 6 tables. There was a steady stream of people eating there and the majority of them were locals. This place is the bomb. Not your traditional breakfast, it's health and out of this world delicious. I had two poached eggs on abed of of greens with avocado and turkey. I had a Mexican avocado toast with one poached egg (microwaved style but very good). My husband had an Egg and Cheese Panini and with ham and their Cilantro Caper Spread. The Cilantro Capers Spread should be a staple on every sandwich it is delicious. There was a little confusion about getting into the restaurant because it's in the back of the spellbound bookstore, which I also highly recommend, but the service was wonderful, everyone was super friendly and the food was delicious.
