Our family left our two dogs here for an overnight stay for grooming/ sitting. We came to this place before so we had some trust for them to do their job. Big mistake ! When we arrived from our trip, our dogs were gone!!! They even said they didn't notice that the dogs were gone until 20 minutes later after the initial "missing" time. They didn't even call us before we came to pick them up. We were visibly upset and frantically called the police who came really quickly. We ended up looking for our dogs that night and also the following day. We went to seven different shelters/ clinics until "we" found the dogs ourselves. The mental shock and the instability that our family and our precious dogs went through is something we don't want for anyone/ any dog. We DO NOT recommend this place, not safe ! read more

The gentleman met me on time and was honest explaining that the dog had thrown up because he got car sick. I brought my dog here for a last-minute grooming and was so glad to find out they take walk-ins. The lady at the front had a bit of a language barrier, so communication was a little tricky at first but she still understood everything I asked for, which I really appreciated. When I came back to pick up my dog I was so impressed. The grooming turned out perfect, clean, neat, and exactly how I wanted it. You could tell they really took their time and cared about doing a good job. Also my dog didn't seem stressed at all. She actually came out looking happy which tells me they treated her gently. Extremely disappointed. I took my dog to this groomer and once I picked her up the haircut was completely wrong! Her entire facial hair and all of her whiskers were shaved off. When I asked the groomer about it, they said, "I didn't know she was a girl, I thought she was a boy. That's why I cut it that way." That excuse made absolutely no sense to me! I'm someone who understands honest mistakes but shaving off all of her whiskers is not just a grooming error it's harmful and irresponsible!! On top of that, my dog came home badly injured, and the groomer didn't even mention it when handing her back. Who knows how much worse it could have gotten if I hadn't noticed This experience was completely unacceptable. I will never return and I strongly suggest others be extremely cautious before trusting their pets here. read more

It Was Good.... Tried this pet spa for the first time, and honestly, it was good but not great. Nothing bad happened, but nothing really stood out either. The place was clean, and the staff was friendly enough, but I didn't feel like they went above and beyond. My dog came out looking decent--clean and brushed--but I've seen better results at other spots. A couple of areas felt a little rushed, like they didn't take the time to really get everything done properly. It's not a bad place if no where else can take you, but I wouldn't say it wowed me. We purchased our Malshi through the seller associated with Puppy Land. At first, the guy was super friendly and said that we had his "word" as the health guarantee. However, we still took her to a trusted, well-rated vet (The Veterinary Care Center) for a check-up a week or two after getting her. She had a fecal sample taken because her poops were a bit soft and wet since the day we got her. Turns out, she tested positive for giardia. She also had an ear infection. The vet said that her ears were full of gunk and needed to be drained. My suggestion would certainly be to take better care of your pups, as our Bella was not exactly healthy. She is currently on medication and getting better. Another weird thing that we experienced happened the day after we got her. We stopped by Puppy Land to pick up her vaccination records. When we got there, the lady at the counter said, coincidentally, that her ears needed to be cleaned. So, they took her to the back to clean her ears. When they brought her back out, she looked a bit different. We compared her to the pictures that we had of her and noticed that they had randomly shaved the hair above her nose. We didn't ask (nor want) them to do that. It also looked like it was cut too close to her skin. It seemed a little irritated. Aside from that, we just find it odd that they said they were going to clean her ears, yet we now know for certain that she has an ear infection and her ears were full of gunk. So much so, that she is on an ear drop meditation as well. All in all, we LOVE our addition to the family. She's loving, playful and sweet. We're just so glad that she ended up in our care. She will have an amazing and healthy life with us! read more

Hi my name is Herbert I bought a yorkie 5 month old there like a month ago. The front Asian spoke a lil English but was really nice to me and my wife. My yorkie was in perfect condition no flies smells good her hair was really soft and had all her shot already. So I took my yorkie to my regular vet and they told the puppy was in perfect condition. I have 2 malti-poos and I was a lotal customer bringing them here since they were little puppies. The last time I came here I was outraged. I walked in as 1 of my pups were finishing up her trim and all of a sudden, I hear the groomer yelling at her and then grab her by the throat and pin her against the wall. Also, when I brought them the previous time, the groomer nipped one of my dogs on her face. This was the first time it had happened and I understand accidents happen so I just let it go. But treating my dogs the way she did, I was outraged. They do not treat animals well. I will never be taking my dogs here again. read more

we recently purchased a female yorkie here. She is one of the best behaved 9 week old pups I have EVER had! Dean has a great system going that helps ensure that the animals don't end up messing in the same areas that they sleep in and I can honestly say that I think this has helped us to begin the housebreaking process so successfully (and so far, so good on that front!). He (Dean) is very knowledgeable and on call for you 24/7. We purchased our pup (Crispy) but had to come back to bring her home a few days later (needed to get the apartment ready). Dean was so kind as to help prepare the pup by separating her from her brother and putting her in her own space for sleeping, etc. So, not only did she come to us having already begun getting used to spending time alone, but he was able to tell us about what to anticipate in terms of crying or yipping when we put her in her crate. (AWESOME! so sad to hear her yip, but so helpful to know on the first go that it wouldn't last more than 5-10 minutes). I see negative reviews on the grooming and complaints about a bad smell- but I am really surprised because every time I have been there the place is very clean and smells very clean. The pup came to us up-to-date on her shots, with a bag of food, and NutriCal. Honestly- there are a lot of breeders in and around LA, some reputable, some not, some very not affordable, some too affordable-- Puppy Land is definitely the balance. Good well-bred pups, reasonable prices (no, not cheap, just honest reasonable pricing), excellent customer service- and the people working there are knowledgeable, committed and clearly looking out for the best interests of their dogs. Id highly recommend this place to anyone considering purchasing a Yorkie or Maltese. read more

I got my little maddie here!! :) :) Dean helped me and I have been satisfied..so far :) He gave me alot of information about my puppy and gave me lots of tips& advice. I was worried about my puppy the next day because she wasn't eating and Dean was nice enough to help me through. He even gave me his cell phone number telling me that I can call him anytime. I came back a few times for maddie's puppy shots. His aunty does this and she is very kind. One time, she gave maddie puppy treats :) So sweet of her. They have great service. My Mimi was the best X-mas present ever. I did a ton of research. This was my first pet. I searched and searched for a decent place to get a puppy. This place had good reviews. Other places had requirements and crap and wanted between 2 and 3 grand for Maltese puppies. I got her on December 24, 2008 from here. She kept staring at us through the window. She was the one. Ya $1,000 is still expensive but well worth it. I wasn't leaving without a dog. I want another baby so bad. Maybe one day I will come back and get her a brother or sister. I brought her here to get groomed here the first time she needed a cut and bath. It wasn't pricey but it was first come first serve and the wait was forever. Not worth it coming from Long Beach. When she was finally done getting groomed I was told she was very uncooperative. Well no crap, what do you expect, it was her first time getting groomed. My man thought the grooming area was inhumane. Stuck in a crate almost all day long, pretty sad. Of course I never took her back for grooming after that. Oh and don't forget cash or check if your're purchasing. My credit card wasn't appreciated. The credit card machine was "not working" that day. read more

They are incredibility caring for Chip Chip.. Always had wonderful experience... The big reason why I am writing this is because the Review that Amy P made.. I've been taking my dog to this pet groomer and so far so good. Despite the bad reviews I have been fortunate enough to not have a bad experience. My dog doesn't show any signs of maltreatment after going to this groomer and the job is done pretty nicely. However, a single drawback is that the dogs are placed in medium sized cages. I walked in here on accident. I had originally made an appointment for the groomers 2 doors down which had a much better review. Anyways, I dropped my small terrier mix off to this place and told them that I wanted his hair short on his body but a trim on his face (how he has been getting cut for 2 years now) I repeatedly told them that I need them to release his anal glands because it's very hard for me to do myself. They said of course and not to worry. When I first walked in I told them that I had an appointment. They never told me that they did not have me in their books so I never knew that I was in the wrong place. I later got a call from the correct groomers later that day which is how I realized I dropped him off at the wrong place. Their prices were $5 higher than the groomers next door but I thought nothing of it at the time and left. They shaved him bald. There was no hair on his body except a ball on his tail which I never asked for. I could have shaved him myself. I'm not really the type to complain and ask for my money back especially since I knew his hair would grow back, So I left a $5 tip anyways. When I got home I realized that all 4 of his paws were scraped, blistering, and bleeding. I couldn't walk him for a week until it healed while I put neosporin on it. Poor thing. They also never released his anal glands. I had to get them released elsewhere. Now I see reviews of this place and stories of the groomers hurting and yelling at the dogs. I stopped by Puppy Land with my gfs almost two years ago and that's when i met the love of my life, Remy. When I picked Remy up, he was 3 months old. The tiniest micro-teacup i've ever held in my life. The day I brought Remy home, I was really excited for my BFF and her handsome white Pom to meet my baby. The four of us went out to shop for leashes and wardrobe, none of which fit Remy. I was never fond of yorkies but Puppyland brought light to how I perceive the beautiful breed. Puppyland has by far has the cutest and top quality yorkies I have ever seen. Remy still has his perfect black and tan coat even after two years of age. He is tiny but is a brave fella. He loves to play and socialize with dogs, big or small. Remy enjoys eating chicken wrapped sweet potatoes and loves playing with his mousey toys for cats. People say that yorkies are yappy but Remy is not yappy at all! but when he does decide to bark it is the cutest thing ever because his barks sound like a meow. I DIE! Another great aspect of puppyland is their customer service. Dean is very caring and extremely informative in regards to your dog's health. What a horrible grooming shop. I brough my fluffy Lhasa mix here to get a trim. We said TRIM and not summer cut. AND THEY FREAKIN SHAVED HER DOWN!!! Not only did they not listen to our directions, they CUT HER NOSE!!! There was a quarter inch red mark that turned into a nasty puss-filled scar that is still there after two weeks. We also found 5 or so other nicks on her body. DO NOT USE THIS GROOMER! Also, they overbreed their dogs. We saw an old female maltese with nipples the size of bottle caps. read more

It is a family owned pet store and they get all their puppies from breeders. Not puppy mills. They mainly have Yorkies and Maltese to sell but sometimes they have other breeds. The puppies are raised in a 2 room area so that they know where to potty and where to eat and sleep. That way, when they go to a new home, potty training is easier. They are super cute puppies and raised and trained very well! Dean is like the "dog whisperer" and is a great person to talk to regarding the purchase of a puppy. The owner, Dean, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I almost bought a puppy from him but he mostly had Yorkie available and I was looking for Maltese instead. I did NOT buy a puppy here in the end but he was always very willing to help. He even gave me his cellphone number in case I need to reach him anytime. Once my Maltese had hypoglycemia and I called him in the middle of the night and he helped me. He provided step by step instructions on what I should do before bringing her to the vet. He even volunteered to drive over to my place in the middle of the night and he stays like 15 miles away!!! Dean was always so helpful as well and taught us a lot on how to train dogs, how to take care of them, etc. I honestly have never seen anyone being so helpful even though I didn't buy anything from him. I can't tell you how amazed I was by the level of the his friendliness and helpfulness when I didn't even buy the puppy from him. My ex-roommate bought a Maltipoo from him 2 years ago as well! There has been zero health problems thus far and the dog is very active and playful. My ex-roommate brought his dog to a vet just 2 weeks ago and the vet said the dog is in very good health. Yes a lot of people might think that Dean's puppies are expensive. Look on the long term however. A few hundred bucks more for a much healthier dog that more than likely will give you less problems in the future is a better investment as compared to paying for vet bills in the hundreds or even thousands. I definitely would feel very assured buying a puppy from him knowing how he is such a nice and kind person. Too bad we didn't want a Yorkie :[ read more
